Through this particular piece of writing the profile of a candidate who is contesting the
general election 2022 for the position of the Governor of Texas shall be provided as matter of
formality from the end of the election campaign manager. The purpose of this particular piece of
writing is to provide a background information about the chosen aspiring candidate in order to
make the voters aware of the candidate and enable them to make an informed and judicious
choice when casting their votes and as an election campaign manager the task of providing the
most accurate information and enable the votes to make a judicious choice is considered to be the
moral responsibility for the sake of upholding the true spirit of democracy that the American
nation and its constituent federating units embody.
Candidate
Democratic Party candidate, 39 year Roy Thompson from downtown Houston, a law
graduate with a doctorate degree from the Harvard University shall be contesting the General
Election of 2022 for the office of the Governor of Texas. Born to an Irish Father and a Hispanic
Mother, being brought up in the city of Houston, Thompson had previously served as the Mayor
of the city of Houston from the year 2001 to 2005, which was his first entry to politics and a
successful one. Though he had refrained from party politics from post 2005 but he had remained
an active figure working as a public prosecutor championing the rights of the minorities and the
oppressed ones who had been denied justice at the court of law, and in other social service
oriented activities by being a part of the Democratic Party cadre. His constant involvement in
social welfare has earned him much appreciation and recognition.

Campaign Message
The message which Roy Thompson had as a candidate wishes to disseminate has been
derived from the French Revolution, ‘Liberty Equality and Fraternity’. Politically the slogan is
revolutionary in nature and signifies a total change in the system of orders and that is something
which Texas as a federating unit of the United States of America needs currently. The
background to the message which Roy Thompson has chosen has been the El Paso shooting,
which had specifically targeted the Hispanic community and Texas needs a Governor having a
similar background to the victims in order to be able to cater to the safety concerns of the
minorities and specifically the people of colour. Years of conservative political leadership in
Texas has not proven to be beneficial for the state and the election of a Republican candidate as
the President having conservative inclinations had made things much more difficult for the non
whites and the non cis heterosexuals specifically. Hence in order to bring about a change, it is
necessary that the message of ‘Liberty Equality and Fraternity’ is disseminated throughout the
campaign, and that is also a part of the Constitution of the nation.
Campaign Strategy
The strategy chosen has been the championing of the minority rights in the rising phase
of ultra right wing nationalism and white jingoism, which is Progressive. Usually, the most
effective political strategy used in campaigning is that of catch all, but the campaign of Roy
Thompson is a departure from that strategy and has been agenda specific given the fact that the
rights of the minorities are in danger. The strategy is clearly not to garner a vote bank by means
of catering to the majoritarian concerns, rather the campaign strategy is to send the message that
party politics is above the parochial selfish interests of just securing power. Roy Thompson does

not deny the fact that he wants to rise up to a powerful position but he also promises to work for
the people and end discrimination and divisions that have percolated the American society in
general and in Texas, context specifically.
Campaign Resources
The campaign is supposed to garner the resources by means of donations from
Democratic politicians from all over the nation primarily. However, in Texas specifically, the
campaign shall be sponsored by several philanthropic organizations working for minority rights.
The party also shall, be gaining resources by means of selling local products and t shirt making
which have been marked with emancipatory slogans. Also crowdfunding shall be used as a
technique to garner resources. In other words, the resources of the campaign shall be earned by
ethical means without any concentrated source to fund it since the aim is not to launch a
propaganda but an appeal to the masses to choose for a better future.
