Topic: What are participants’ experience of work?
INTRODUCTION
In the workplaces, employees have different experience which sometimes makes them
motivated or demotivated. The present study also shed a light upon different experience shared
by participants and this in turn assists to determine their views pertaining to employee’s working.
The entire study is based upon primary research which helps to collect relevant information
pertaining to chosen study. The report will provide list of methods used in order to analyze the
data in an effective manner. Along with this, analysis of data performed with the help of direct
quote of chosen participants. Lastly, it will present the reflective diary where entire experience
has shared that helps to describe the lesson learnt through the present study.
MAIN BODY
Methods
For the present study, qualitative research type has been used which helps to describe the
participant’s views in proper manner. This in turn assists to generate the best outcomes and
assists to examine views pertaining to their work only. Also, for the present study, secondary
data collection methods do not used, as only primary data analysis has been performed in order
to determine their views. For that, thematic data analysis has been used which helps to present
the data in effective manner and conclude the results as well. Moreover, excel sheet also
designed through which the key words from the interview has selected in order to determine their
perception towards a work. This in turn assists to determine whether the selected participants are
satisfied with the work or not.
Also, with the help of excel, the key words or sentences extracted through which the data
can be analyzed effectively. This in turn assists to generate the best outcomes and examine the
differences between their views so that effective results can be generated.
Data analysis
Theme 1: Meaning of work
Through the data analysis, it has been identified that one of the interviewee (Polly)
specified her views that “working is about your passion”. Along with this, she also adds that if,

an individual is not happy with the work then you must leave the place. She also uses the term
torture to elaborate the sentence where she wants to draw the attention towards complain about
the job position. However, another interviewee (Jill) stated that work means money so that an
individual can afford food and roof. Therefore, the meaning of work is to satisfy the basic need.
While third interviewee, stated that it means a fulfillment and makes individual happy.
Theme 2: Type of job like
Polly stated that she like to do the job which is challenging and interested in social work
where she can perform the things for society only. However, she also performs typical job like,
designing website, logo for branding. However, second participant reflected that working in
nurseries is quite good and wants to become a child psychologist, while currently participant
doing online packaging for an online store. Jack, 3rd participant is a marketing director who sell
WIFI and for that explore different countries as well. He also wants to work in a team but not
with stereotype people.
Theme 3: Working with others
One of the participant stated that she like to interact with people because it helps to
understand what they are trying to say and their views regarding to my offered services. For that,
she also used that makes online calls for international dealing which helps to generate high
money. On the other side, another interviewee (Jack) stated that he wants to enjoy working with
a team where all suggested how to perform the work in order to generate the best results. Also,
this in turn assists to identify their views pertaining to job and then offered solution to grow as
well. Whereas, Dolly stated that working in team is far better than individual because she
generally goes outside to meet people where she learns about diversity and ethnicity that helps
her to grow. Overall, it reflected that they all enjoys their work and that is why, their perception
towards work is positive as well by making effective decision through collaboration of their
respective team members.
Theme 4: Way of working
With regard to the defined theme, it has been analyzed that Polly work by setting the
deadline and always tries to meet the same so that it does not affect the results. Like, she stat
prioritizing the work like urgency over something that might be less urgent. This strategy helps

to generate the best outcomes and meet the defined work with support from team members. On
the other side, Jill stated that their job is quite pressurized, as participants get many orders in a
day which become more difficult to adjust. Also, due to lack of effective strategy, there is no
specific time to get lunch and dinner. This in turn reflected that participant cannot perform work
under pressure. Further Dolly stated that regard to own job, she like to work externally because
internally management team might affect the work and this in turn cause lower down the
performance.
Theme 5: Motivation
Polly stated that she does not feel any threat when the deadline comes until the project is
big. Thus, by having effective organizing skill, I am able to perform the work and make myself
motivated. Whereas, Jill stated that there are many challenges faced by him from the childhood
to now. This in turn assists to enjoy their life so that it will not affect the working. Jack stated
that he has enough abilities in order to influence others so that sales of the company increases.
However, sometimes, Jack is also frustrating and this might affect the results in negative manner.
Further, last interviewee stated that there is a massive change occurred within a company and
this affect the results in opposite manner. This way it affect the people directly because
motivation is quite low and also there is a massive proportion of old as well as new staff which
create negative impact over the business.
In addition to this, it has been identified from the overall views that motivation must be
high within a working area and this in turn helps to increase the overall performance of an
employees. Even though, each organization have workload and there is a need to generate the
strategy which help to keep the employees motivated towards a company.
Theme 6: Work itself
Polly stated that there is a need to she like to work and with past experience, the work is
really enjoyed by her. This in turn reflected that company actually appreciate the employees and
that is why, they start putting extra efforts in order to improve the working performance. Beside
this, Polly actually wants to make more money and for that she has to start focusing upon
different things to raise the performance. While, Jill stated that he enjoys their work and also
from difficult part of work, he started doing work with more enthusiastic manner. Through this,

the mental situation of the people will be stable and enjoy the workplace as well. Third
interviewee stated that there is no need to change the filed because he likes to sell the products in
marketing field only because there are different areas through which he can improve the
knowledge. This in turn assists to develop further expansion methods. Dolly stated that she also
enjoys the working place because dealing with people and helping somebody will assist to create
a sense of team work and remain motivated.
Overall, this in turn reflected that all the selected interviewees are happy with their
working and they always try to develop new opportunity in order to improve their learning for
future. Also, all of them have a positive experience which in turn shows that they all are enough
motivated in order to generate the best outcomes for the company. Further, they develop
effective results due to applying effective motivation factor which makes them energetic and
develop positive strategy for the company’s welfare.
Reflection diary
Throughout the overall assessment, I have analyzed that my experience pertaining to the
same is good and knowledgeable because I gain many skills and improve the knowledge
pertaining to the same. Also, I can say that with the help of my ICT skills, I am able to perform
excel in an effective manner. Further, with the help of my tutor, I am able to perform codebook,
as it was my first time to use excel for qualitative study, because I think qualitative study is only
deal with theoretical aspects. That is why, I am able to analyze the data in an effective manner.
In addition to this, I do not possess effective knowledge pertaining to excel, but with the research
skills and sample provided, I can say that I completed the entire project in effective manner.
Apart from this, throughout the entire research, I think that raising my ICT and writing
skills pertaining to current study is went well. It is so because there the excel which I used for the
report will help to determine the key points for the study. Thus, it assists me to identify whether
the experience of the workers is good or not. On the other side, in future when the same study
will be performed, I ensure to make a command over excel so that it will not affect the results
and I can make different sheets on the excel as well. Through the report, I analyzed that I lack
ICT skills and that is why, I am not able to perform different sheets like, coded transcripts, list of
topics, initial codebook, final codebook, data matrix. Therefore, in future when the same will be

performed, I ensure to use different mode of primary research that helps me to meet the defined
aim and use excel and other tools to analyse the results as well.
CONCLUSION
By summing up above report, it has been concluded that the selected participant’s
experience in their respective work is positive because they all have enough abilities to manage
the work pressure and improve their working performance. Further, with the help of primary
research, effective results have been generated in order to determine the views of participants.
Also, all four interviewees are also agreed that they all knows to deal with pressure and that is
why, it assists to make them more motivated towards a work. So, there is a similar perception
identified among all the respondents and this reflected that they are satisfied with the working.
