INTRODUCTION
In an there are many factors that are responsible for the success of the company such as HR.
Marketing and Finance department (Boiral, Heras-Saizarbitoria and Brotherton, 2019). This can
be done to achieve through integrated together that has specific goals and objective which is
directed towards the common goal. In this report Body shop is chosen, which is British
cosmetics, skin care and perfume company founded in 1976 by Dame Anita Roddick. It is being
analysed that types of financial management and financial reporting in the company. Apart from
that collaborative working practices has been used in the firm.

Identify the role of HR within the Body Shop
Human resources will help in managing the employees in the company which include the
finding, screening, recruiting and training job applicants. This helps in creating the demand and
value of the company. Their importance is increasing nowadays due to improving the diversity in
the workplace in the corporate world and that also leads in dealing with many others issues in the
organisation. This enhance the quality of the employees and ensure the effectiveness of their
performance (Clinton, Giovannucci and Hursting, 2020). This department play important role in
retaining the employees and motivating them to perform better. This also help in dealing the
salary related problems in the company. In the context of Body Shop, HR will help in hiring the
employees and will develop the effectiveness in the company through addressing their
misunderstanding between the employees and employers. HR is useful in maintaining the overall
performance of the company and employees through proper selection according to their qualities
and competence.
Assessing the role of Marketing within chosen company
Marketing refers to the department that will help in attracting the buyers to buy the goods
and will help in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the company Selling is the part of
the marketing and will help in dealing in attracting the customer. In the context of Body shop,
the need to understand the importance of the marketing function as this tells the importance of
company to attract the customer and to influence them to buy their product. This plays important

role in increasing the sales and profitability and to increase the awareness among them about the
goods and services. To achieve this company has to use certain tactics and strategy to fulfil the
demand.
Identify the Finance Functions within an Organisations
Finance function refers to the department that deals with certain financial and non-financial
activities. This include the acquisition and utilization of funds that is necessary for the company
run. They were handling all transaction and study financial performance and status of the firm
and analyse the effectiveness of the company (Donthineni and et.al, 2019). It develop proper
report, bills and other requirement to understand the financial needs of the company. In the
context of Body Shop, this helps in analysing the requirement of money and analyse the
efficiency operation of an organisation. It tells the management that which project is beneficial
for the firm and which is not feasible to implement in the company. Apart from that it is used in
determine the ways to improve the efficiency and methods to decrease the cost through
maximisation of the profit.
Develop an understanding of collaborative working practices
Organisational Culture
Organisational culture consist of many factors that involve in an organisation that is the
collection of values, expectation and practice that guide and inform the action of all team
member. Many organisation has their different types of culture that depends on the size, nature
and other factor (Wang and et.al 2020).
There some important factors that form within the organisation and responsible to perform in
different way. Size refers to number of staffs in the company, Location in which the company is
located and most essential is belief that company has in terms of goals and objectives.
Charles handy’s model had four types-
Power- It refers to people in the company in which they have power to run the business
and authorized to take decision.
Task- This refers to task and objective that company has to achieve the goals.
Person- This concern with the team that has been formed to solve the problem and
follow the task culture.
Role- This concern with the roles and responsibility that assigned to the employees.

Describing the organisational culture
Culture concern with the environment that company to perform the task and duties it used
to change time to time in order to achieve the goals and objectives. Culture do affect the
collaborative working environment as this bring all employees and top management together to
accomplish the goals (Fuoli, 2018). Culture develop the uniformity and contribution of each
employees into one form and help in increasing the collaborative working environment in the
company.
Leadership style in the Body shop
In the concerned company Body shop, the founder is Anita Roddick who believe in
bringing the change the company. The leadership style that has been followed is
Transformational leadership. This type of leadership style works where teams is to identify to
bring the needed change and creating the vision through the inspiration ands executing the
change in the member of group. In this leader used to inspire and motivated them to work more
harder and give them power once they were trained. It leads to generating the better performance
of employees and inspire them to become leader in their future (Venieris, 2020). This enhances
the commitment, involvement and loyalty and performance of followers and helps in building the
performance in longer period of time. Through this leadership in the management, it could
achieve the goals and objectives effectively helps in identify the values and ability in the
employees.
Leadership style in the Bodyshop contribute towards a collaborative environment
As transformational leadership style helps the employees to build their competence and will
help in building the efficiency in the performance in the company. Collaborative environment
also concern with creating better working condition and to interact with each other in order to
perform the roles and duties (Gao and et.al., 2018). In the context of BodyShop, leadership style
helps in defining the roles and task to each team and guided them to accomplish them by
contributing the individual efforts. This also engaged more employees to learn and perform the
task in effective manner and motivate them to perform better.

Profit and Loss Account
Profit and loss statement refer to the financial statement that summarize the revenue, cost
and expenses, cost and expenses that used to incurred in the specific period of time. This helps n
maintaining the financial condition of the company. In the context of BodyShop, this document
is very essential to record the income and expenses and through it could evaluate the efficiency
and profitability of the company. As, this include all kinds of income and expenses of an
organisation to analyse the effectiveness.
Importance of Balance Sheet
Balance sheet is the statement that tells the final financial performance of the company and
helps inn evaluating the effectiveness of the company (Mukhopadhyay and et.al., 2020). This is
important financial report that depicts the overall profitability of the company through equalizing
the asset and liability side of the balance sheet. In the context of the Bodyshop, this document is
very useful and essential financial report that help the management to evaluate the performance
of whole year and also being useful for the shareholder to analyse the efficiency of the company.
Analysing the necessity of Cashflow Statement
This is important of financial statements that tells the cash position in the company and how
well it manages to generate the cash through the debt. This contains the three activities such as
Financial, operating and investing. It identifies the liquidity of the company and helps in
analysing the future incoming cash to reflect the cash position. In the context of BodyShop, the
cash flow statement help in evaluating the cash position of the company and to analyse the how
much cash is going out and coming in. So that they could generate the company’s product and
services (Nwagbara and Belal, 2019).

From the above report it is concluded that in the organisation there are various functions and
department that helps in performing the task and objectives of the company. HR, Marketring,
Finance are playing individual role in the company to achieve the goals and objectives. Financial

that helps in measuring the efficiency and financial performance of the company. They have
great importance in order to build the effectiveness. Collaborative environment are also essential
that leads to certain benefits to the company as this helps in bring employees and staff together to
accomplish the goal.
