Explain the role of reason within theology as it seeks to deepen its understanding of the
mysteries of faith
Foster, (2018) argues that, Christian spiritual value means what leads to action, event,
belief or having a firm standing concerning an issue. It can also be regarded as tangible proof
that will make an individual come to believe or understand a certain issue. In Christian life, one
changes his or her life based on stories that have been narrated to him or her and these stories
have influenced the lifestyle making an individual trust on that issue. Apparently, Christians trust
in things they have never come across and they cannot point to someone on that issue b their
hands. The extent of belief in the life of Christianity is what is termed as faith according to
McGrath, (2016).
Several people know about God but someone may ask how they came to know God.
There are several teachings concerning God. For instance, there are books that focus on
theology. These books teach one the Godly was hence making the person believe in the existence
of God, this is how people come to know God. After reading the books on theology one is able to
gain knowledge of God and as the wisdom expands, God opens other ways that would assist the
person to understand Him better. From the experience, the individual passes the knowledge to
other people in an effective way. The receivers of the information in it and that is how faith in
the Godly way is passed from one generation to another according to Migliore, (2014). However,
there are challenges when the knowledge is passed. For example, several religious groups have
been fighting when information was being passed down to the old testament. The lesson that one
can gain from these religious wars is that the new generation should not only depend on fellow
human being to understand the word but should also wait for God’s revelation. It is evident that
the theological teachings that are in the books of today’s world have sometimes based on groups

interest. Many people have lived to doubt some teachings concerning God and this is why there
are several versions of theological teachings. However, it is clear that the nature of the human
being is what might have influenced him to doubt the teachings.
Despite the doubting nature of human beings, Peters, (2017) says that the Biblical
teachings have provided ways to handle those people who have always expressed disbelief in
God’s teachings. For example, one of the disciples of Jesus doubted His resurrection, but Jesus
proves to him by showing him the scars on His hand that came as a result of being nailed. Faith
should be a key aspect of Christian life. The theological teachings should always benefit the
Christians and all the generations that are coming. However, it is of no doubt that at one point
every human being would be tested to ascertain whether one believes in God’s teachings. There
are several science materials that human beings are trying to make use of to prove wrong the
teachings of God. However, this is wrong. God reveals Himself to people in secret ways and it is
always important to rely on God’s revelation to get answers to matters in the world. Lastly, faith
is a fundamental spirit to have in order to assist in transforming the upcoming generation to trust
in God.
