INTRODUCTION
Skills is learning ability or talent within individual that helps it in completing the task in
the best possible manner so that better outcome can be achieved. There are various types of skills
that are required by student of United Kingdom in master level study such as career, time and
research management, creative, communication and writing skills. Individuals needs to develop
its skills and competency to achieve more and more success in professional career. Cognitive
learning theory and behaviorism learning theory are two theory that could be used in order to
critically evaluate skills associated with masters-level study in UK.
Student that is pursuing master degree must have necessary skills and capabilities in
order to learn several things that can be used in professional and personal life. Like cognitive
learning theory states the way people think or learn new things that are teach to them. Moreover,
this theory emphasized that individual learns through both internal and external elements so on
the basis of their understanding level they are able to learn key skills which could be helps in
master degree (Sutherland, Warwick and Anderson, 2019). Therefore, teachers needs to
encourage students to ask question and queries to understand though of students and find
alternative strategies that could be fruitful in learning new skills.
It can be stated that there are probably several skills that has been developed in student
that are required for master degree student. Such as the first and foremost skills that needs to be
present in student in master study is effective writing and time management so that it can easily
write the task. Time management skills contribute it to effective manage several task on time for
getting maximum outcome in limited time frame. So on the basis of above theoretical
perspective it can be illustrated that writing and time management skills is associated with master
study as it helps in developing them. Moreover, research skills is also linked with master study as
student conduct several research on specific topic to find new and alternative ideas or the way
particular issue in society can be easily resolved (Calma, 2019). Therefore, as per theoretical
perspective both internal and external factors contribute din enhancing understanding level of
student to learn new skills associated with master level study in United Kingdom. Furthermore it
can be explained that individual requires career management skills is also associated with master
level study as student has to select alternative options that could be helps in growth and
development in future career.

There is some limitation of cognitive learning theory is that it cannot be directly observe
thus it directly relies on inferences. In another words, memory or understanding level of student
cannot be observed so it is difficult for student to understand the skills that are already present or
developed that are associated with master level study. Moreover, it has been interpreted that this
theory totally ignore other factors that affects behavior of individual. So it can be critically
analyses that various skills are associated with master level study as they help in learning and
completing the study for bright future ahead (Jones, 2017).
Behaviorism learning theory is another learning theory which will help in understanding
the way skills are related to master level study. This explained that generally behavior, nature of
student depends upon nature of environment provided to them to learn new skills and
capabilities. The theory focused that student mainly learn from external forces rather than
internal factors that can be helpful in getting maximum success in future career. So, it can be
understood from the behaviorism theory that student learns key skills through healthy and
friendly environment (Johnson and Jablokow, 2019). Positive reinforcement is one of the best
examples of behaviorism learning such as appreciation given by teacher contribute in motivating
student to learn more and more. Thus, teachers by appreciating student for its hard efforts to
learn new and new skills and capabilities is able to developed skills that it can be used in
professional career.
So from the theoretical perspective the behaviorism learning clearly states that students in
their master study are provided with appropriate resources and environment so that they can
learn and developed crucial skills. Such as assignment or research project are provided to master
level study students so that they can research on one of the recent topic or key issue thus ind
alternative solution or ideas for betterment of society. Moreover, the lecturer provide an
environment and proper guidance regarding the way they can develop writing and creative skills
so that they can make assignment in effectively manner which can be easily understood by them
(Furneaux, 2018). Another skills which is associated with master study level is time and career
management, which student learn by attending the lecture class, submitting assignment on
schedule time. The environment of university also help student in learning or developing
thoughts related to career management so that they can be success in future circumstances.
It can also be critically evaluated that the behaviorism learning theory totally ignore that
social dimension of learning which means that the people majorly learn from social environment.

Thus, the theory has avoid incorporating role of nature or genetic that is the way it behaves rather
than it mainly emphasized on external environment that contributed in learning of skills. So, it
can be interpreted as per these theoretical perspective that environment can also be responsible
for developing skills such as communication, research and writing that are directly associated
with master- level study.
CONCLUSION
From the above analysis it can be stated that skills are individual excellence or
capabilities to perform specific task in the best manner so that maximum outcome can be
achieved. Moreover, there are two main theory that is behaviourism and cognitive learning
theory that has been used to critically evaluated the way skills are associated with master study
level of United Kingdom. At last, it can be summarized that there are different skills that
individual must have in order to complete its master study and get higher success in both
personal and professional career.
