INTRODUCTION
Learning and education plays a vital role in the life of students. Learning is a process of
overall development of the students that help them to enhance their skills, knowledge and
capabilities. It is necessary to achieve success and attain career growth in future (Ellis, 2019) .
This report is based on teaching in the field of health and social care. In the starting of this
report, there is discussion related to learning models and the way they are applied in the field of
teaching. The learning preference of the students makes the teacher effective in teaching and the
students are able to learn properly. Communication plays a vital role in the process of learning
and education so the theories of communication and learning are discussed in the report.
Assessment is necessary to evaluate the performance of the students so the principles of
assessment are examined. The principles of curriculum development are part of this report. In the
end, there is evaluation related to reflection and evaluation and the way it can be applied in the
life of teacher.
MAIN BODY
TASK A
analyse theories, principles and models of learning preferences
THEORY OF LEARNING:
Theory of learning means how the students gain the knowledge, process it in their minds
and retain the knowledge during the learning. There are various types of learning theories which
have direct influence on the behaviour of students that how they acquire skills. There are mainly
five educational theories that are as follows:
Cognitive learning theory:
This theory is very important for the students as this focuses on that how students thinks,
memorise, ability to solve problem, recall etc. In this the students get affected by the internal as
well as external forces (Tangirala, 2018).
Behaviourism learning theory:
This theory focuses on the relationship between the students and the environment in
which they live. In this the students observe various aspects that allows them how to interact
which different people outside.
Constructivism learning theory:
Document Page
In constructivism theory, students add new learnings to their past experience which helps
them in creating a new understanding. Teachers can apply this theory that allows them to guide
their students which helps them to easily understand the informations.
Humanism learning theory:
This theory have relation with the self-actulization needs which focuses on satisfying the
emotional and physical needs of the students (Rose, and Galloway, 2019). Teachers can help the
students in achieving these needs of students through creating a good atmosphere in the class.
analyse models of learning preferences
The students have there own learning preference. There is need of understanding the
preference in order to teach the effectively. The visual learners learn by looking. They are in
need of good presentation that will enhance their knowledge. There are auditory learners who are
able to learn by sound. There is need of audio or video to teach them in proper manner. There
read and write learners are the one who are able to learn by reading books and then writing the
same and forming notes. The next category is kinaesthetic learners who are able to learn with the
help of experience. The learning preference of the students are necessary in order to teach the
students properly.
ways in which theories, principles and models of learning can be applied to teaching, learning
and assessment
Being a teacher of health and social care, I provide them safe and effective learning
environment so that they are able to enhance their skills. There is direct impact of learning
environment on the studies of the students. Along with that, I work on developing relations with
the help of connectivism theory. The use of technology is necessary to teach the students in
proper manner. (Teixeira, et.al., 2020) This enhances the working environment of the place and
the students learn properly. Also, the process of learning goes hand in hand with feelings. The
use of videos in the classroom make the students of health and social care more effective.
explain how identifying and taking account of learners’ individual learning preferences enables
inclusive teaching, learning and assessment
By knowing about requirement and learning style of the students, I am able to include
them all in teaching. All the students are different from one another and it is necessary to provide
them resource that will enhance their skills. The students in health care are able to learn from

practical examples and case studies. By showing them videos they are able to enhance their
overall skills properly. Also, I take feedback in the end of class so that they are able to share their
problems. The same helps me to enhance my skills in next class.
TASK B
In PPT
TASK C
analyse theories, principles and models of assessment
Assessment is being used to know about the performance of the students. There are
different types of assessment that are being used in order to assess the real time performance of
the students (Henriksen, Creely and Henderson, 2020). The use of assessment help to give
feedback to the students that will make them a better person. The students are also able to know
about their performance and the place at which they stand. The various principles of assessment
are as follows:
Reliability: This shows that the score of the students are reliable and stable. It helps to
check the metal ability and learning power of the student. The teacher checks the information
that is in the mind of the students so that it is being used to know the real capabilities of the
students.
Validity: The validity of the content is being checked in this assessment. The use of this
principles enhance the writing skills of the students and they are able to write and present valid
information in the classroom. This helps to check that they have constructed the material
properly.
Development feedback: This is one of the effective principle, as the students get
feedback on the basis of their assessment. The method of feedback is dependent on the teacher
and they help in overall development of the student (Widada, Herawaty, and Lubis, 2018). All
the important aspects such as quality of content, writing skills, confidence level of the students is
being analysed. It helps the student to carry on the their work effectively in future. The feedback
must be taken positively by the students so that their skills can be enhanced.
Competency: The progress level of the students is checked by this principle. The
development of the student is analysed by the competency principle. There is flexibility adopted

by the students that enhance the working of the students. They are able to reflect properly on the
aspects that are being learned.
Authenticity: The skills and their level of authenticity is being checked herein. The
success of the students is dependant of the the authenticity of assessment they are doing. The use
of observation technique helps the teachers to know about the performance of the students.
Efficiency: The use of this principle helps to check the efficiency of the assessments
given by the students (Masten, 2018). The more efficient students are able to carry on the work
properly. It makes the work effective and students are able to learn properly.
There are different types of assessment that are based on the these principles. The use of
the these principles make the teachers check the progress of the students.
Black and William theory
This theory helps to know about formative assessment. It helps the students to know
about the performance and the way of managing the same. There is key role of checking the
work of the students properly so that they are able to enhance the performance. The focus of
theory is to enhance their overall performance. The students are able carry on the work and
cooperation according to the desired outcomes. There is need of improving the learning of the
students properly (Osiurak, and Reynaud, 2020). There is need of checking and evaluating the
students performance so that real success is attained. This helps the students to improvise the
performance of the students in examination. The overall process of learning gets facilitated with
the help of carrying the work effectively. The use of proper skills will make the student work
effectively.
explain ways in which theories, principles and models of assessment can be applied in assessing
learning.
It is necessary to take proper care of all the principles of assessment. Being a teacher of
health and social care, it is necessary to use proper models and principles of assessment. Taking
formative feedback makes the students know about their current position. The improvement
areas can also be known to the students. The regular monitoring is necessary for the success of
the teaching process. It is necessary to prepare the students to perform effectively in the
assessments (Weinbrenner, 2022). All the assessments are necessary for the students and they are
able to know about their mistakes. By providing the students proper real time feedback the
students are able to work on enhancing the skills. There is requirement of using these principles

to check the authenticity of the work being allotted to them. The students who are able to use
quality content and perform good is examination are being motivated top carry on the same.
There is need of working in such a manner that enhanced the performance of all the students. All
these principles help the students to perform effectively at the time of summative assessment.
TASK D
analyse theories and models of curriculum development
Developing the curriculum is a step by step process that is being used by schools and
universities or college. The aim is to provide effective education to the student that will help
them to develop career in future. The best updated curriculum model is important for the success
of the students (Selwyn, 2019). There is requirement of working according to the curriculum as
the the learning objectives can be attained. There is key role of developing the curriculum in
such a manner the the students are able to meet the needs of the studies and compete nationally
and internationally.
There is a proper link among the syllabus and the process that is followed to to design
and develop the curriculum. The use of all the necessary aspects in curriculum development
helps to achieve the goals and objectives. The use of updated syllabus in curriculum
development makes the students learn properly. This is theoretical part that makes the students
expert in the field (Barnes, 2018). Proper planning and professional bodies work together to
formulated the curriculum. It must be updated with time. The theoretical knowledge is being

used by the students in future. At the time of job the use of the skills and knowledge being
developed at the time of studies is done. The objective is to develop the theories in proper
manner as a final product for curriculum development. The teachers must use the updated
curriculum as the same assist them in teaching the students and making them knowledgeable.
Stenhouse model of curriculum development
The theory says that teachers play a central role in designing the curriculum. The teachers
know about the capability of the students and the important topics. The teachers are able to know
about the learning preference of the students and know the right way to teach them (Grossman,
2021). The creativeness of the students can be enhanced and the students so that they are able to
learn properly. The teachers have ability to evaluate the curriculum in proper way and make the
necessary changes.
Tyler model of curriculum development
It is a scientific method of curriculum development. The aims and objectives are being
analysed in such a manner that the learning experience of the students can be enhanced. The
selection of proper content is being done so that the real time learning is enhanced. The proper
ways of teaching the students are being examined and carried properly. The developed
curriculum will be used to enhance the skills and knowledge of the students. The teachers can
use systematic process of carrying the work properly so that the best curriculum can be designed
(Coleman, and Connor, 2019). The environment is dynamic and it becomes important to carry on
the work properly and include all the details and updates. A program is designed so that there is
constant evaluation of the work. The theory is based on overall knowledge that must be provided
to the students.
explain ways in which theories and models of curriculum development can be applied in
developing curricula in own area of specialism
There is key role of curriculum development in the life of teacher and student. I always
keep on giving suggestions at the time of teaching the students. The suggestions are used in
future to enhance the skills of the students. In relation to health and social care, there is need of
teaching the students with recent topics and areas. By using right theories and models the use of
best curriculum can be developed. I keep on studying about the changes that take place and they
are able to make the necessary changes. I focus on the career development of the students. The is
need of setting such objectives and using the process that will enhance the skills of the students.

The requirement of the using best and updated resources to teach the students is necessary. The
use of Tyler theory helps to know about learning experience of the students and the way it can be
enhance is part (Rianawaty, Dwiningrum, and Yanto, 2021). I am a teacher who wants to include
practical implementation in the classes on health and social care. The use of updated resources
will make the students effective and boost the performance of the students. There is need of
using of all the required skills to design the curriculum of the place properly.
TASK E
5.1 analyse theories and models of reflection and evaluation
Reflection can be stated as the act of telling the experience. All the individuals are able to
enhance their skills and knowledge with the help of experience. The experience can be positive
and negative. Evaluation is the process in which the students is able to evaluate the overall
experience. There is need of learning with the help of experience. The experience can be
negative or positive and enhance the way of learning in the students. There are certain models of
reflection and evaluation they are mentioned below:
Gibb's reflection
There are six stages that are being studied under Gibbs reflection. There is evaluation
related to different situations and the experience of the students is part of this model. In the first
stage, there is description of the overall situation. The scenario of the same is discussed in the
first stage. In the second stage there is discussion related to feelings. There is evaluation related
to the positive and negative (van Prooijen, and Douglas, 2018). The feeling can be both negative
as well as positive. It is necessary for the teacher to have positive feelings to teach the students
effectively. In the next stage there is evaluation regarding the overall work. It is duty of the
person to carry on proper evaluation. All the skills that are being learned by the person are
mentioned. The use of proper skills will enhance the opportunities present in front of the person.
The stage of analysis is based on analysis the situation. There is need of working with proper
analysis skills that can make the person more achievable. By analysing the situations the
mistakes done can be know to the person. There is need of proper analysis of the situation and
areas that need improvement must also be analysed. In the fifth stage, there is conclusion, the
person writing the same gives them summary of overall situation (Lee, 2018). The use of this
stage is important for the person and they are able to enhance the performance. In the last stage,

the action plan is formulated. The skills that need improvement are being discussed in this stage.
There is requirement of taking such actions that will help in growth of the individuals and
enhances their skills.
explain ways in which theories and models of reflection and evaluation can be applied to
reviewing own practice.
The use of Gibbs reflective cycle to explain my experience. All the stages have there own
importance in the life of the learner and make the work easy. The discussion related to all the
skills is explained below:
Description: It is the first stage, I am sharing the experience of my teacher. I am glad to
get the opportunity of working as a health and social care teacher. All the students are big
enough and good learner that helped me to teach them properly (Farrell, and Jacobs, 2020) .
There is need of teaching in the areas of interest and that is the reason I became a teacher in the
field of health.
Feeling: I was positive to start my career as a teacher of health and social care. By being
positive, I am able to teach the students in effective manner. I am able to carry on the work
properly by being positive and my dedication help the students to learn properly.
Evaluation: I have evaluated that there is key role of learning in the life of students. The
skills and knowledge must be provided properly to them so that they are able to enhance the
same. I have evaluated that the use of effective and emerging resources make the students proper
person.
Conclusion: There is need of proper learning environment where the students are able to
learn and enhance their skills. It is seen that there are certain skills that are required to provide
teaching and fulfil the training needs of the students.
Actions: There is need of proper actions to enhance the performance. I will work on my
communication skills so that I am able to teach properly to the students. The use of best
technology is also necessary to carry on the work in best possible manner (Popkewitz, 2018).
The action must be monitored so that overall performance is enhanced.
