INTRODUCTION
Third sector encompasses of private associations and foundations , non commercial
cooperatives, mutuals and social enterprises and generally they are independent of government.
Along with this, its main role is to support communities at local level by providing them
charities, education, rendering basic needs in order to improve well being of human life as well
as contribute to economic growth (Bovaird and et. al., 2015). On the other hand, public service
is something such as health care, transport or removal of waste which is organised by
government in order to benefit all people in a particular society or community. This report
involves the role and need of third sector organisation in society as well as in economy, identify
the issues and benefits which they face and finally impact of third sector if public service applies
into their business operation is also discussed here.

it aims to enhance the living standard of community or society in an effective and efficient
manner. However, this term is used to describe as range of organisation that are neither public

and co operatives (Kearney, 2018). Some of the various firm in third sector like Oxfam, red
cross, UNICEF, Salvation Army and others which are highly dedicated to enhance community
life style. The key events of Oxfam and UNICEF which helped them in shaping their business
function are as follows:
Strengthening communities: This is regarded as one of the event which enable third
sector companies in altering its operation with a better manner. IN regard of Oxfam and UNICEF
, they put their full contribution towards the enrichment of society by offering them education
facilities, health care and solving their social issues in order to bring high level of motivation and
satisfaction. Moreover, with the help of this they can provide all relevant information regarding
government policies to society and conveyance social issues to the national authorities to that
state.
Enabling voice and campaigning: Under this event, Oxfam and UNICEF takes an

related to all new social policies or regulation for the betterment of public in a effective manner.

St. John Ambulance is one of the leading group of company as they have several affiliation in
various region for which thy takes an initiative to teach and make them understand the
importance of first aid and emergency medical service to community (Dey and Teasdale, 2016).
Therapy and mental service: It is an another type of service which third sector

operate the service like ambulance, first aid, health care service, to community for resolving their
social health issues. Moreover, they are in partnership with NHS and manage the ambulance
services which is established in different geographical region.

Along with this, they are motivated by the desire to to achieve social goal like public
welfare, environment or economic well being and many more, rather than acquiring profit.
However, they operate over at all levels of society, from the local to international as they make
significant or rapidly contribution to health and well being of society in UK. Some of the
benefits of this organisation are as follows:
Empowering communities: One of the main aim of third sector organisation is to boost
or raise their life style in a better way. Along with this, they takes an initiative to provide
education, housing service, medical facilities and many more in order to improve overall life
standard of community. Moreover, they help them to eradicate poverty, injustice from
community and offer them a peaceful environment (Ferlie and Ongaro, 2015).
Barriers of organisation
Lack of fund and contracts: This is a major obstacle which third sector organisation
undergoes and that directly impact over community life style. For example, if an enterprise
decides to render housing facilities to community, for that they require enough number of fund
which sometime becomes an issue to provide effective service to society. Apart from this, lack of
contracts is also becomes a barrier which restrict them to provide best and fair service to
