INTRODUCTION
The easy includes the benefits and role of the partnership of the third party have from
public sector. The role of UNICEF and NHS will be discussed, keeping in mind various work
they conduct and what services they provide. Also what are the benefits these organizations
provide to the public would be discussed below.
UNICEF- United nation came up with a special program with the aim of improving the
education, health and nutrition of the children. This program came up in 1946 to help
children who suffered by World War II. This foundation was also awarded the Nobel Prize
for peace in 1965. The organization focused more on smaller areas where expenditure is
less and the impact of service is more.

TYPES OF WORK DONE BY THE THIRD SECTOR ORGANIZATION
These are those organizations that work for the welfare of the people. It includes self-help
groups, NGO’s, charities and community organization. The organizations are independent
and are motivated to work for the people.
UNICEF protects the entire law mandatory for children and ensures that children get their
rights equally. It aims at providing education and welfare to those children who are affected
by war, any disaster or facing poverty. Violence and exploitation against children are
protected by this organization. Child labour and child marriage are also justified by this
organization. This organization works in more than 190 countries across the world bringing
relief to children.
The focus of NHS is on several issues such as safeguarding children from any kind of abuse
violence, and exploitation. The aforementioned issues deal with health and care of the
children along with child trafficking and safeguarding the disable children. It also provides
justice to the children at significant level. In addition to this, it safeguards the children from
any kind of violence and also provides psychological support so that they could enhance
their wellbeing. NHS is mainly funded by national insurance payment and from fee
generated out of immigration act.
TYPES OF PUBLIC SERVICES DELIVERED BY THE THIRD SECTOR
ORGANIZATIONS
Third sector organizations are the organization of people that work for the welfare of
society. They do not aim at profit gain, instead help people who are in need. These
organizations can be termed as self-help groups, charitable trust or voluntary organization.
Many types of services are provided by the organization to the public. Such as:
Poverty- The volunteers of these organizations go to different places where people need
them with some kind of help. The problem regarding hunger, disease or malnutrition is
solved by these organizations. Basic needs such as home, clothing and food are also solved
by third sectors organization.
Abuse against women- Any sexual harassment against women is not tolerated by these
organizations. The volunteers work to stop such activities and make sure that these abusive
acts do not take place again. They try to bring such women back to their daily happy normal
life. In short, they try to spread peace all over.

Natural disaster- Disasters such as earthquake, flood, tsunami etc. affects the people and
property hugely. These organizations provide rapid relief to people in such a situation and
ensure that they moved to a safer place. More than one billion people are affected due to
natural disaster every year. Temporary shelter set up camps and food is also contributed by
these organizations.
Lobbying: These kind of organizations focuses on influencing the government officials who
develops and modifies the policies. The influence of policies is on different areas which are
raised by the third sector organizations. This is done in order to carry effective research such
that significant evidence that could support the actions is availed.
Conducting research- The third sector organisation such as UNICEF, NHS etc are engaged in
carrying out research on the issues that need more focus. By this, they will be able to help
the organisation in forming new policies and regulations as well as help them in altering
already existing policy. This will also bring a positive change to the welfare of the
organisation.
EXAMPLES OF THIRD SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS DELIVERING PUBLIC
SERVICES
Various types of organisations are involved in providing services to public sectors. These
organisations include many basic facilities that are needed by the public. Those are
electricity, water, postal services, healthcare, infrastructure etc. These services together
help the organisation in increasing the welfare living standard of people. Examples of such
organisations are:
Red cross- It is an international organisation with about 17 million volunteers. This NGO was
formed to protect human life and health and make sure that every human being gets equal
respect in society. The movement consists of various other organisations whose main aim is
the same as of Red Cross. This NGO formed various other NGO's in a different region of the
world with an almost similar name. Different types of program are also initiated by the
organisation that works for the betterment of society and the development of the economy.
Oxfam- This organisation is named after oxford committee for famine relief. It focuses on
poverty, disaster relief, pro-migration and policy research. To enhance their effectiveness,
they work with local organisations for the injustice people are facing. They work for human

rights and believe that poverty could be removed from society. The organisation also looks
into the healthcare, conflict between the nations, natural disaster, war etc.
ENGO- The main aim of this NGO is to form a good relationship with the government, work
for the betterment of the environment, offer training for agricultural conservation and look
into the issues relating to the environment. Funding for this work is raised by various
organisations. That want to work for such issues and contribute their working for the same.
WAYS IN WHICH THIRD SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS WORK IN
PARTNERSHIP WITH PUBLIC SERVICES
UNICEF consists of various partners LIKE agencies, global financers, government etc. These
partners have been offering services to the public. The funds have been raise through the
members who are volunteers. The UNICEF has been working as a partner with public service
organizations in order to offer adequate assistance to the government. In addition to this,
they have been working as transparent in the supply chains which could be demonstrated in
form of Modern Slavery Act along with the focus on the rights of the children in the digital
work. In addition to this, they have been providing assistance to various children which
result in saving their lives.
There are various public service organizations who have been contributing to UNICEF such
that they focused on the rights of children and their welfare. These partners provide regular
assistance and sourced funds to UNICEF. The NHS has been working along with various
public sector partners in order to determine and assess cases where there is a requirement
to safeguard children rights. These partners help the organizations to raise issues regarding
the rights of children and promote welfare for the same. Regulations formed by the
government also help in raising such critical issues. The quick remedy is provided to affected
children as soon as possible by these organizations.
BENEFITS AND BARRIERS OF USING THIRD SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS
IN PUBLIC SERVICES
The third sector organization benefit for the public as they understand the need and
highlight the issue. They also try to perform well and deliver their services in the best
possible they can. Bringing innovative ideas in solving the problem also helps in raising the
living stand of people. UNICEF believes in maintaining gender equality and provide various
other relief to the public. Paid sick leave, life insurance, pension, maternity leave, education

etc. are some type of relief UNICEF provide to the public. They take steps to make the world
a better and peaceful place. They also make sure that their children are provided with equal
rights and responsibility. If public rights are implemented properly by UNICEF, it will lead to
an increase in efficiency and the desired goals of the organization.
NHS provides a huge range of health-related services to the public. Proving education on
health and related issues, improving the environment for its patient and providing educated
staff to the public is the main aim of NHS. They ensure that all laws are implemented
properly. Donations also help in maintaining this trust.
There are some barriers of third sector organizations to the public service. Those barriers
are lack of useful resources, education facility, lack of advanced technology, lack of financial
help etc. Due to these barriers, it becomes difficult for the organization to provide aid
services in every part of the world.

CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it can be said that the third sector organization plays a crucial
role in developing our society. Also, the welfare of the public is improved with these
organizations coming up in the market. The combined effort of third sector organization and
the general public leads to the growth and development of the economy. UNICEF and NHS
both focus on the welfare of people, protection of their rights, violence against women.,
discrimination against a child, reduction in poverty and hunger, HIV etc. These factors are
beneficial for the society but sometimes create hindrance to the public service of the
society.
