INTRODUCTION
Third sector is defined as all such sectors that are nongovernmental sector and also do
not operated to entertain profits out of the operations. This report will analysis about the role
of third sector in the pandemic situations like COVID 19. Henceforth, report will emphasis
on key government initiatives taken to support the social economy. Examples of third sector
organisation will also demonstrate in this report. Benefits and limitations working in
partnership will also demonstrate in this report.

Government and Public involvement in health act: This act has changed the significance
of the third sector in the public services at United Kingdom. The aim behind the act is to
improve the role of third sector in dealing with all the social issues society is facing. In recent
time the United Kingdom has faced the crisis of COVID 19 (Busso, 2018). Third sector
organisations have contributed and support the government to deal with the situation. This act
has encouraged society in United Kingdom to establish third sector organisation in United
Kingdom. After the implementation of this act number of third sector organisations has
suddenly increased.
Partnership in public services: To involve the third sector in various governmental
organisations like cabinet office, the department of health, the department of education and
skill and many other departments in the United Kingdom. This act has involved the role of
third sector in all the government offices. Every time the society face any kind of pandemic
situation like COVID 19 third sectors get to involve with the governmental institutions to
face the situation.
Third sector strategy for communities and local government: To improve the future role
of third sector in the society this strategy has farmed. The aim of this is to improve the role of
third sector in dealing with different social issues. This has enhanced the support to third
sector in facing the social issues.
CLG consulted on principle of representation: This is a framework for an effective
participation of third sector in local strategic partnerships. Local strategic partnership is a

forum where all sectors come together and work for the betterment of the society (Chadborn
and et.al., 2019). This step taken by government has changed the dimensions for third sectors

that has supported the sector in growing.

to all the poor people around in the society. This has been one of the major change third
sector has created so far from its services (McMullin, 2019). They supported the economic
poor background peoples in meeting up the education need of the kids and children’s.
Medical services: Third sector has been involved in serving the medical services in the
society. In recent time the United Kingdom has faced the pandemic call COVID 19. Third
sector played a strong role in giving services to fight against the pandemic. This has
supported government while in the pandemic of COVID 19. Medical related services are one
of the key areas third sector has been involved from last many years.
Dealing with pandemic: Third sector play crucial role in dealing with pandemic situations
like COVID 19. It becomes important for the government to access some kind of external
support from other organisations not working to earn profits (Myers, 2017). Third sector
organisations like NGO and others played a significant role on behalf of the government
bodies in United Kingdom to meet up different needs and requirements of the people in
society. They were engaged in sending food products to all the economic backward and
category peoples around in the city.

JRF: JRF is known as Joseph Rowntree Foundation. The organisation is a charity
organisation which engaged in conducting and fund research aimed at solving poverty issue
in United Kingdom (Scheiber, 2016). The organisation was founded in the year 1904 by the
founder Joseph Rowntree. This organisation has played an important role in United Kingdom
in dealing against the poverty.
