Slide 3: The third sector organisations can be described as the organisations which are neither
private nor public. The work or duty of these third sector organisations is to identify and solve
the problems of society without thinking about making a profit from it. The various roles played
by these third sector organisations are in volunteering, community group, and others.

Slide 4: The social groups or third sector organisations are existing from a very long time in the
societies but they are not always in the perfect form from the starting. They suffered and learned
from various events held in the country. Some of the key events like community care act 1990,
National compact 1998 and others are mentioned in this slide.

Slide 5: To understanding the impact of key events, Oxfam and Red Cross can be taken into
context. Oxfam was established in the year 1942 to solve the problem of poverty in the country
which was raised just after the end of World War II. British Red Cross is another organisation
which is also solving the problem and giving support to the people who suffered from any type
of crisis. The community care act made it a right for the person to know analyse their needs and
do their efforts to satisfy them (Cavamh, 2018).
Slide6: The next event was National compact between the public organisations and the third
sector organisations which created a strong bond of partnership between these two types of
organisation (Compact voice, 2019). Due to this, Oxfam got the partnership of the government
and delivered its services to the poor people of Rwanda (Oxfam, 2017). The Red Cross also able
to provide health care services like Ambulances for the government of the country.

Slide7: The next one is the charity act of 2011 which is the modification of Charity acts of 2006
and before. This act does not actually change anything in the laws but it made an easy pathway
for the third sector organisations to access to the laws of the country (Gov, 2011). It also helped
the third sector organisations like Oxfam and Red Cross to get into better shape than before.

Slide8: The public and third sector organisations are similar to one another in many ways. The
public and third sector organisations want a better society and fir this, they both do work for
solving the issues faced by the people. They also help the people in solving their problems and
eliminating the issues that are a barrier to a better society. The employment is also generated by
both the sector organisations and they have people and groups for their funding purpose.
Slide9: This slide compared the difference between the public and third sector organisations. The
public sector organisations create profit in return of their services through the taxes which is also
the medium of funds for them. But in the case of third sector organisations, the funding is
received from the people or other groups in the society and they give funds without any pressure
to the organisations. Also, the public sector organisations are mostly limited to a region or a
country but these third sector organisations can operate in many countries.

Slide 10: There are various roles and objectives of the third sector organisations. Some of them
are to become the voice of the society and the people who are silently suffering from any
problem or issue as done by NSPCC for children. Next is to make changes in the society through
campaigning and to develop new methods of innovation for solving problems and issues by
conducting research on the issues like poverty as done by Oxfam.

Slide11: Then the next is to create a strong community which is able to handle the problems and
can also help the other people by gathering together into groups. They also create a connection
between the problems and issues faced in the society and the government so that these issues can
be highlighted to the government. It also provides support to the communities and the people
who are considered as backward in society. They also aim to find out the needs and problems of
society and try to solve them by the help of the government.

Slide12: After the involvement of third sector organisations in the public services, the
government has got an assistant who can half the burden of it. It will make the decision-making
process easy because they will get all the required facts and figures for making a decision. The
public sector also gets help in making new policies for the society and these third sector
organisations got the support of the government. Conducting research and developing solutions
for the problem become easy for the third sector organisations along with the public sector
organisation.
