Ethical leadership is all about having strong character and right values that leads by
example. The leader does not only possess a strong value but is also determined to succeed as
they clearly understand the relevance of building an effective framework. This helps the other to
follow their example and strive for the similar goals, embodied with same values, purpose and
vision (Zhu, Treviño & Zheng, 2016).
Tim Cook is one such corporate leader, who practices all his responsibility in a very
ethical manner. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple is doing a marvelous job and forging the future of
the company with his own innovative advances. Unlike Steve Job, who follows a bureaucratic
leadership style Tim Cook is very soft- spoken and co-operative. He is also involved in all form
of charitable causes besides practicing ethical business. He has also been very instrumental in
maintaining the outlook of Apple as well as consumer products vibrant updated. He conducts the
business practices as per the legal requirements without breaking any law. He also engages
himself in social responsibilities activities (Fehr, Yam & Dang, 2015).
Even being in the middle of market and media criticism, he is never swayed by the
opinions of others. He pursues such values that he considers best and is ideal for the
organizational growth. Therefore, it can be said to create an ethical organization, it is crucial to
have a moral upstanding leaders. Ethical leader possesses the Responsibility Principles by clearly
understanding the strengths, weaknesses and limitation and help other to achieve the desired
goals.
