INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refer to those skills which are required by the employees to fulfil
the goals and objectives of the company. Every employee needs many skills for doing work
but it should possess some special skill which can be useful for the company. In this report,
Timbacourt company is selected which is a high end fashion store. This report discusses
about the roles and responsibility of the HR manger. Further, it stresses on advantages and
disadvantages of online and high end retail store of Timbacourt.
TASK 1
1.1 Developing set of own responsibility and setting performance objectives
The main purpose of Timbacourt is to open a flagship store in UK. I am working as the hr
manger in the company.
Responsibility Managing employees- Main role of the HR manger is to manage their employees and
make them competent to do their task effectively and efficiently. Hence, I have to do
performance appraisal time to time in order to make sure that employee’s are
performing well in an organisation. Employees’ recruitment- In an organisation I have to recruit employees that can work
for the betterment of an organization. In this regard my responsibility is to design the
selecting and the recruitment process to recruit appropriate employees for the
organization. By preparing this process in systematic manner I will be able to select
best employee for an organization. Designing training and development program- One of my responsibilities is to
design training and development programme. This technique helps in developing the
skills and knowledge of the employees. It is also beneficial for the organization as
skilled employee will take less time in doing the task which will help in meeting the
goals of the firm effectively. Due to this reason my efforts will be entirely directed
towards preparing good training and development program. Solving problems among the employees- As the HR manger of Timabcourt, my
responsibility is to solve the problems of employees which are facing the
organization. By doing this I can promote employee commitment towards growth of
an organisation.

Motivating employees- Further, in Timbacourt I have various performance objectives
which are very essential to be met. My main performance objective is to motivate the
employees by adopting various motivating theories and satisfying them by fulfilling
their needs. If employees will be motivated then they will good performance for the
company.
Knowledge of employees- Another performance objective is to enhance the
knowledge of employees regarding their field. Due to lack of relevant knowledge
employees are not able to give good performance in an organisation. Hence, my focus
will be on increasing knowledge of the employees.
1.2 Evaluating own effectiveness against defined objectives
I have analyzed my effectiveness against the objectives which I have to fulfil in
making the organization successful. The main objective which I have to focus at the present
time is the recruitment and the selection process. In opening the new store, Timbacourt
requires human resource which can help in fulfilling the goals of the company. By analyzing
my effectiveness, I came know that I have information regarding the tests which are
conducted at the time of selecting the employees. Developing effective test is very important
because it is the kind of benchmark according to which the manpower is evaluated. The next
most important objective which I have to achieve is making the training and developing
module for the employees. I prepared and implemented training and development program in
proper manner. But due to mistakes of subordinates some problem caused in effective
implementation. By taking steps on right time I successfully implement training and
development program in proper manner. By evaluating the effective I analyzed that I have
knowledge regarding the training needs of the employees. As an HR manager of Timbacourt
I have evaluated every employee and identified in which area they require training.
According to their need only, I will prepare the training and development module. Another
responsibility is to motivate the employees of the organization. In this I am lacking in the
areas. There are different motivational needs which first I have to recognize. Even I do not
have huge knowledge regarding the motivation theories which can be applied in Timbacourt.
1.3 Making recommendations of improvement
I need improvement in many areas especially in motivating the employees. For this I
have to learn the theories which I can apply for motivating the employees. First I have to
identify the needs of the human resource. For this, I have to communicate with the
employees. This process will take time but it will be helpful in enhancing the performance of

employees. Another area in which I require improvement is communication. It is difficult for
me to communicate with the employees of different level. Without communication nothing is
possible for me. To improve this area I have to take communication classes from the experts.
The major problem which I am facing problem in managing the employees. It is further
hindering their performance. So I have to adopt various types of measures to improve these
areas.
1.4 How motivational technique can be used to improve the quality of performance
In case of Timbacourt which the leading high end fashion store, it has to motivate its
employees so that they can maintain their position in the market. Performance of the
employees is judged by the services which they are giving to their customer. Motivation has
direct impact on the performance of employees. Motivation is basically of two types one is
monetary and the other one is non- monetary. Motivation helps in satisfying the employees of
the organization. If the human resource which is working in Timbacourt is satisfied then it
will provide best of their service to its customer. Timbacourt can adopt Maslow hierarchy
theory to motivate their employees (Jackson, 2014). This theory states that there are different
levels of motivation and every worker is at different level. The first level is the physiological
need. This level emphasizes on fulfilling the basic level which is food clothes and shelter.
Initially, the company has to identify the motivation level. Then is the safety needs which
stresses on personnel and financial security. To motivate the employee of this level, the firm
can give insurance policy so that he can be motivated to work in the organization. The next
level is love and belonging in which the employee wants to make relation with their
colleagues (Arthur, 2012). If the employee is motivated in the organization then he works as
it is his own organization which will further lead to increasing productivity. Another level is
the esteem need in which the human resource requires independence as in this level middle
level managers are found. They are the one who needs these rewards for their motivation.
Last and the final level is the self actualization need which is basically recognization,
so the manger of Timbacourt should make efforts in appreciating the performance this will
give them confidence and will help them in enhancing the performance (Griffin and Annulis,
2013).
2.1 developing solutions to work based problem
The main objective of the Timbacourt is to open the flagship store in London. So it is
necessary to provide training to the new and the existing employees of the organization. But
giving training is very difficult as it involves various issues. Training can be successful when

it implemented correctly and the result is positive. This problem can be overcome if proper
tolls and techniques are used for providing training. Proper plan related to training is given
below for the junior manager of Timbacourt (Messum, Wilkes and Jackson, 2011). Identifying the training requirements of junior manger- different level of manager has
diverse training needs. So the first step is to identify the area in which they are lacking
the most. By evaluating the employees and acquiring about the weakness HR manger
of the company has identified their weak point. After analyzing it was found that they
are not having the appropriate knowledge regarding the task (Wilton, 2011). Developing the action plan- after the need has been analyzed; it is required to develop
the plan to train the employees. In this, the responsibility of the manger is take
decision regarding the methods which can be used to train the human resource of the
organization. Further, manger of Timbacout will arrange the funds for giving training
to the workers (Johnson and et.al, 2009).
Evaluating the training program- It is the last step, in this the manger of the company
evaluate the training program which is given to the employees. They analyze the
performance of employees as well as the goals which are set by the firm. If the
objectives are achieved effectively then it means that the training program has been
successfully implemented. This helps the company to know the gap if identified at the
time of evaluating the program (Bojeun, 2013).

2.3 Identifying the tactics of managing time
It is important for every manger to manage the time and do the work accordingly. The
task can be completed in time only when it is properly planned and managed. Managing time
helps in saving resources and assists in achieving the goals effectively. Scheduling- The best way the manager of Timbacourt can manage the task assign to
them is by scheduling the work. In this, the manger can plan the work which has to be
carried out in the give time period. After planning it can assign the time which is
required to complete the task (Messum, Wilkes and Jackson, 2011.). This gives idea
to the manger as how much time it will take to complete it. This helps in managing
the work effectively. Prioritizing- This technique is also effective. After scheduling the manager can rank
the task according to the priority. This makes the work easier and the important task is
completed first. At the time of planning something in the Timbacourt the manger can
use this technique as this will help them to work as per plan. The main advantage of

3.3 Suggesting the alternative ways to complete the task and achieving team goals
There are several alternative ways which can be used by the Timbacourt Company to
complete the task on time and achieve the team goal. The best way the manger can complete
the task is by dividing the roles and responsibility. These duties can be handled over to
different employees and every worker can be given some time constraint so that they can
complete the task within the given period of time (Jackson, 2014). Second best way through
which the task can be completed is to assign the responsibility according to the expertise.
Every employee who is working in the Timbacourt is expert in some or the other field. The
manager can identify the area in which he is expert and can assign the duty. The beneficial
aspect of this method is that the work will be completed within the time period and no issue

completed is by assigning the duty to experts. These are the best ways through which
Timbacourt can achieve its team goals (Devambatla and Nalla, 2015). Hence, these were
alternative ways that can be used by the manager at the workplace for completing tasks and
achieving team goals.

4.1 Evaluating tools and techniques in selecting process of Timbacourt
Selection is very difficult process in the organization, it needs proper analyzes to
select the employee for the new flagship store. There are several methods which can be used
by the organization to select the workers. The manager of the company can design test to
evaluate the thinking of the workers. There are many types of test such as technical test,
psychological test. These tests help in evaluating the performance of the employees.
Technical test is done to evaluate the technical skill of the new members. All the organization
requires technical knowledge in working in the company. Further, psychological test assist in
examining the mental capability of the individual as if he is mentally capable in working in
the organization or not. With the help of this test manager can evaluate the thinking process.
Last step is to search that whether he has come with any reference of the workers who are
working in the organization. After this process in Timbacourt, the employee is assessed
according to the task which he has given (Johnson and et.al, 2009).

duties are changed and they gets chance to do different job. It is very helpful for the

There are advantages as well as disadvantages of online store in comparison to the
high street retail business. With the help of online business, the company can expand its huge
market to various places and it becomes convenient for the consumer to shop the product
through online website. The consumer of the company does not have to go anywhere to buy
the product. One of the disadvantages is that, it becomes difficult for the consumer and the
company to develop physical relationship with each other. On the other hand, high street
retail business is advantageous as the consumer can build effective relationship with the
business (Arthur, 2012). There is some of the consumer who does not get satisfaction in
buying the clothes through online store. So they generally go to the retail shop to buy the
product. But for Timbacourt to expand the business, it is important for them to do online
business.

will get best employees if he adopts this approach. Lastly, it can be concluded that there are
several work based which arises in the organization but it is the duty of the employees and
the manger to overcome the issue.
