It is rightly said; time once gone cannot come back. People are often found complaining
about the shortage of time they have for their self. But if managed properly one can take out
time for not only themselves but for their friends and relatives. This can be managed by
imbibing proper time management in an everyday routine not only in professional life but
also in personal life. One should understand the goal and objective of one's life and what they
wish to achieve ( Subramanian, 2016). All have 24 hours in their entire day but why it is that
some can complete all their work in that stipulated time while others cannot. The answer to
this in simple words is former is master in managing time, but the latter lacks this quality.
To develop the skill of time management and become an expert in it there are numerous areas
which have to look upon. Some of which includes – setting a proper deadline for the work.
For that, there should be a proper understanding of finishing the work in that well defined
stipulated time as if that work not done in time will not be useful (Pehlivan, 2013). There
should be a well-defined strategy which can help the work to be finished in that time. This
can be achieved by prioritizing the importance of work and scheduling them accordingly.
This could prove to be a great help as through this allocation of time to a particular work can
be done and the whole day can be managed accordingly. Also, there has to be needed for
spending the right amount of time on a particular task. If a work let’s say can be finished in
an hour or so then only that amount of time should be spent in that project. Managing time
effectively and efficiently also requires creativity in being organized. One should be very
regiment with their work station and should keep it spotless so that it does not require
needless wasting of time and energy. The other thing is people can even set up reminders on
their phones and laptops for their work so that it leaves no chance for missing out on
something.

Effectively planning the whole day is very crucial and allocating proper time to work
according to their urgency and importance. Setting goals and objectives are equally
necessary. It would help in visualizing a clear picture of the steps which can be taken to
complete the work in that stipulated time. Deadlines should also be taken into consideration
as the work will be of no use if not submitted in that required window. This will enable to
devote specific time to specific work hence resulting in the completion of work in the
required time. Formulating prioritization is also profitable as it will enable to know the
urgency of one task as compared to another. This will help in planning the work schedule
accordingly by finishing the work which has higher priority and setting the schedule for other
tasks accordingly. It is also essential to be focussed and avoid distractions to order to stay
away from the hampering of productivity and quality. It is also to be taken into account that
one should not misuse time as the company is paying us to gossip and roam around. They
require the work and our first and foremost duty should be that only (Mathew, 2015)
The point of disagreement is where it is said that learning to say "no". It is understood that it
is not possible for an individual to be engaged simultaneously in multiple tasks. But one
should never run away from taking responsibilities. It will enhance one's capabilities and help
them to get into the good books of managers. It will also give them a chance where they can
be promoted earlier from other colleagues.

People should try to start their day as early as possible. As it will not only give them time in
between to sit and relax but also it could help in keeping them motivated all day long. They
should also try to take out time for themselves in between and plan a short interval of 10
minutes. It will help in reducing the stress level. This small break can include listening to
music, having some snacks or maybe a small talk with family or friends (Sahito &Vaisenan,
2017). The other thing is they should learn to avoid procrastination of work it will somehow,
or others will hamper the productivity. If a person is a working professional, then he/she
should keep two separate phones. One related to their work and another related to their
private life. This will help them in getting rid of the distractions as they can keep their phones
switched off while doing some urgent work. (Bawaneh & Takriti, 2015)
People should keep a full record and examine deeply which factors are leading to the
distractions. It can be anything from Facebook to Instagram or any other social networking
sites. One should allow oneself a separate time for this online world. Humans are not
machines, and they do require some source of entertainments in their lives. But mixing it with
the work could turn out to be very harmful in the long run.
Another thing is to finish the work on time and even before that one should not rush in multi-
tasking. This will not only hamper the productivity but also result in a low quality of work.
This has to be understood that there is no shortcut to complete the work. Each work requires
its time and space which can be only managed by a proper time management skill.
One can adapt the habit of meditation as it has scientifically proved to be very helpful. It can
help in keeping oneself fully energized throughout the day. It will also help in keeping one's
mind and body from all sorts of negative vibes and energy.
