Stress Management
Introduction
The reflection report is prepared on ‘Stress Management Plan’. It is prepared to provide
an overview of the current major stressor and the effects of the same in in my life. The basic
purpose of this report is to develop an implementable action plan to reduce the effects of the
stressor. Moreover, the report will assist me in overcoming the real life stressor of my lifecycle.
Primary Stressor
I am dealing with a primary stressor of ‘Poor Time Management’ in my life. It is the
result of my poor skill in managing my time with the important activities. Because of this
stressor, I have been facing many issues including lower academic performance, poor punctuality
and mental stress of lack of energy, impatience and hypertension.
I am a college student of College name and a part time employer in name of the café you
are familiar with cafeteria. I cannot drop out from my job, as it is an important means of meeting
my finance. Because of my poor management, I had made a delay in preparing my previous year
assignment. It was a decent assignment but because of the delay in submission, I have received a
poor grade from my tutor.
Rationale
I am facing a major issue with the above stressor because despite being a college student,
I am also engaged in a part time job. In order to complete both the activities, I feel difficulty in
timely completing the task allocated in both the college and job requirement. I have a busy
schedule as I am attending the college in the morning until College ending time. Further, major
problem associated with my job is that it has fluctuating working hours with six days working.
As per the daily schedule, I have to work minimum for five flexible hours as a part time worker.
Because of the floating working hours, I feel struggle in allocating my time to the other
necessary task. Moreover, these two major activities almost took my whole day leaving me with
mere time to complete other important activities resulting in stress, delay works and pending
deliveries.

Goal
In order to achieve Time management, I would timely complete my future delivery

S – It is specific goal as it deals with completion of project NAME OF THE PROJECT
M – It is measurable as project is prepared as per the given word count.
A - It is attainable, as I have done similar projects in the past also.
R – It is relevant, as it will assist me gaining better grades and achieving Time management.
T - It is time bound, as it has to be achieved by 4th week of July (MacLeod, 2012).
Benefits
1. On achieving the set goal, it will benefit me to attain a better grade from my tutor for
timely submission of future project.
2. It will provide me with an insight of time management without adding stress to my
health.
Action steps
1. 15/7/19
By July 20, 2019, I will collect all my previous year academic results from the college.
These include the poor grades that I have received since last year. After gathering the entire
required academic document, I will mail the same including my concern of ‘fix job hours’ to the
employee help center. After electronically transmitting the message to the help center, I will wait
for their response. It includes the technique of Prioritizing as I have given priority to ‘fix job
hours’ (Kottler & Chen, 2011).
Reward: Receiving support from the help center to solve my job concern is itself a
reward. Moreover, it will make me feel mature enough to demonstrate my problems clearly to
the third person.

Stress Management
By July 20, 2019, I will try to convince the ‘Employee help center’ to fix my working
hours in their cafeteria. I will convince the concern department by sharing an overview of the
problems that I have been facing because of their fluctuating working hours. Moreover, I will ask
for their support, as being a fluctuating worker is hard as it is directly affecting the health, adding
stress and poor punctuality to the other activities. I analyzed that the above two actions will help
me in retaining fix working hours that will ultimately help me in completing the goal mentioned
above. It includes the technique of ‘Organizing work’ as I have tried to organize my job timing
(Bly, 2010).
Reward: On convincing the Employee help center to fix working hours, I will reward
myself with a new notepad.
