ESSAY
Time management is being defined as a basic technique that helps an individual in
planning, controlling or managing the time that could help an individual in attaining specific
goals or objectives. It can be said that, good time management aid a person in becoming highly
effective at workplace in an organisation or at personal level. This specifically helps in lowing
the overall stress and pushes towards success (Basit and et. al., 2017).
In the given case, there were many suggestions that were given related to time
management like a person requires to understand time value so that to become successful in life.
An individual that do not consider time as an important thing, fails in holding a good hold in
his/her own life. Based on the evaluation, it can be said that suggestion which was given was
somehow right because life has become really very busy and if a person do not consider time as a
valuable thing, than it is may be possible that he/she might not become able to attain his/her
desired goals or objectives. On the other hand, another suggestion which was given i.e. plan the
day well in advance. Based on the evaluation of this idea, it can be said that people would
basically require a proper plan but, somehow this is also not perfectly correct because every
single day cannot be planned because of different number of uncertainties which could be faced
by an individual. Considering “To Do List” or “Task Plan” a person can attain its targets on daily
basis but they also need proper change as well. This could be understood with a good example
where, due to contingent manager of a company assigned a task to an employee when he has
already planned the overall day (Goetsch and Davis, 2014). Here, person must needed to make
alterations as per the requirements so that effectively given task by manager could get completed
in given time frame.
Another suggestion in the article was given i.e. a person should set deadlines for himself
and strive hard to complete tasks ahead of deadlines. Proper evaluation of this proposition is
specifically be done than it could clearly be said that this idea is not a bad thing to do because,
setting goals and continuous try to attain them could help an individual in pushing his/her limits.
Lets understand this with a good example where, a person likes to stay fit and in every single
morning sets goals like he will continuously run for five kilometres but in the end, individual
was unable to meet it, but he pushed himself and could try the next day for the same. Along with
this, learn to say “NO” at workplace has also been covered as a suggestion, which is somehow
right that not every single task a person can do and if he/she would start doing than it is may be

possible that everything might get mess up (Mittal, 2014). It is important to say no for an
individual not only at workplace but in personal life as well. Based on the evaluation, it is being
analysed that a person can be perfect in one or two skills or in a sector only. Business world is
full of different sectors and technology carrying a rapid changing nature where it is hard for an
individual to have all the knowledge related to different functions of a business organisation.
This could be understood with a good example where a manager at workplace started developing
policy for staff but, actually this work is basically done by a leader of company. This impacted
negatively on performance level of employees and reduced there market share. Here, a manager's
work in a firm is to manage the overall performance rather than developing or formulating
policies in specific time frame. In this context, it can be said prioritising the tasks as per their
importance and urgency. Along with this, it is also required for individuals to know the
difference between important and urgent work. Away with this, identifying tasks in specific time
frame could help improving knowledge and hitting targets as well (Hameed and et. al., 2016). On
the other hand, tasks that are specifically be done considering the time could help individual in
becoming a leader at workplace.
Another suggestion that took place in given article i.e. an individual would require to
spend right time on doing or performing correct activities. It is precise that every single person
must stop spending their time on Facebook or on any other social media as this could aid them in
reaching to new heights and would start performing well at workplace or in their daily life as
well. Along with this, it can be said that about an effective time management process, one needs
to be aware of different things like an individual must be aware of various factors like organise,
misuse of time, full focus and so on (McNeil, Frey and Embrechts, 2015). These elements could
help individuals in becoming ideal for others. Through this, they might be able to stay filled with
full of enthusiasm for life time.
Some of other suggestions on time management are: if an individual done a good job of
dedicated employees, hiring of different talents, there’s always more work they can take off from
the company (Hornstein, 2015). Thus, running a successful small business depends upon the
owner’s ability to think about what lies ahead and not stay indulge in day to day operations.
Along with this, it is also required for person to keep their focus on how many productive
minutes are left after completing the task. Using a proper time sheet could help an individual in
becoming a quick learner from the mistakes that has been made throughout the day which

impacted upon overall performance level. Away with this, mobile app, or track time directly
from desktop of a person, real-time reports could also be used to see exactly where the individual
is performing most valuable asset i.e. time (Lancer, Clutterbuck and Megginson, 2016).
