Titanic
My favorite movie, Titanic based on a romance- disaster theme, is an US epic which was
made in 1997. This film helped me to write an essay based on its background, story and the
characters involved. I have thoroughly enjoyed the script which was written, directed, co- edited
and co- produced by James Cameron. It is a fiction based on the incident of sinking of RMS
Titanic. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack and Kate Winslet as Rose, this evergreen movie is
an all time success and popular to the audience. The two protagonists of the movie belong to the
extreme strata of the society and they fall in love on board in the course of the voyage. The
director got an inspiration for the film due to his affinity for shipwrecks. He portrayed a story of
affection which resulted in a loss of both the love story as well as the platform on which it grew
(Bigg and Wilton 2014).
The most sophisticated and luxurious structure of that time, RMS Titanic sank at an early
hour of April 15, 1912 at the coast of Newfoundland in the North Atlantic. There were around
2240 passengers and crew on the ship and more than 1500 people had lost their lives as a result
of the collision of the ship with the iceberg. On April 14, after a non- stop sailing of four days,
titanic met with its most fatal outcome (Jager and Knegt 2017).
The amazing story of love, hatred and death has never failed to amaze me with its
creativity and narration. There was a prevalent notion that the ship was made of something which
made it unsinkable. The drama related to this epic voyage got expressed in the form of books and
movies. The science associated with this movie describes the cutting edge technology in that era
of 1912 and the present time have been put together to bring a new flavor into the tragic story. It
is such a movie which kept me at a stage of trance even after the ending of the movie. This
movie has the capacity to bind me as an audience for a long duration of 3 hour and 15 minute. It

is very evident at the beginning of the movie that something is waiting to happen in the climax.
The way the ship was shown in the screen, kept me glued to their seat as if they were seeing an
original being in front of their eyes.
The story of human affection as shown between Jack and Rose is juxtaposed to the life
cycle of the giant, Titanic. From the time it had hit the iceberg in the cold and dark sea to the
time it took to sink- there was duration of two and a half hours. I observed that the sinking of
Titanic also drowned the pride and dignity of the builders who claimed the ship to be unsinkable.
The elements present in the film gives it the right proportion to be enjoyed by the audience
anytime and every time. I have been overwhelmed every time I had seen this film. The use of
models, visual effects and graphic animation has made it an exceptional one. My illusion and
intellect sometimes got coincided as if I was seeing a real sailing ship in front of me. The
inclusion of special effects in the film do not come as an obstruction in between but play a major
role in attracting the audience gaze.
This tragic story was a major hit of that time and earned around $200 million. It is one of
the Hollywood epic till now. The flawless crafting, brilliant construction, strong emotion and
magical visuals just tied the thread of the film with one another. The screenplay of Titanic tells
the story of the two young people who met to part, in a wonderful way. There had been very few
stories which could make well in the box office at that time. The cold and dark night and the
cries of innocent people set the theme for a tragic background which ended in a sad note where
love could not bind (Stettler and Thomas 2013).
I have been watching movies since long time and one of my favorite movie is “Titanic.”
Currently, we have modern technologies, great creative story scripts that can be implemented
into greatest biographies, poetry, fiction and historical events are shown in the movies with

suitable actors and actresses which makes a legendary movie. The movie “Titanic” came in 1997
that describes one of the biggest catastrophic, heartbreaking incidents and loving relationship
between two youngsters who see them on a Titanic ship and fall in love. This movie runs with
two important leading role players Jack Dawson and Rose Bukater, while the journey from coast
of England to the United State and both fall in love at first sight when they meet each other.
Dawson, is a young brilliant artist from a low-class family and Rosa Bukater is a
beautiful looking girl married to an older man named Caledon Hockley from a rich family who
she does not love. Titanic movie shows about a relationship between two teenagers and how it
takes place in the world.
This movie shows not only in early 20th century but it makes perfect sense to this present
day when a wealthy young beautiful girl can marry a boy from low-class background family if
they both love each other by eliminating barriers like social classes. It describes the power of
love can take it to anywhere in every condition regardless in which situation people live. During
the journey on the ship, Rose is about to commit suicide by jumping off from the ship into a
freezing cold ocean then Jack immediately arrives and states “I will be right after you” ready to
jump to save her from freezing cold ocean. As soon as Ship’s official authorities group see them,
Jack and Rose runs into ship’s deck and they both make love. All of a sudden, the ship hits an
iceberg, and which resulted dead of 1500 people out of 2200 people who are traveling on the
Titanic ship. Finally, only fewer number of people will be alive and that is the happiest part of
this Titanic story. This is one of the biggest tragic incidents in the early 20th century. Due to
freezing cold water in the ocean, hundreds of passengers drown and sweep away, and Jack
makes an attempt to save some passengers but it turns into a gloomy effort. Rosa’s family finally
figures out that she is in love with Jack and then they both will be separated.

In this movie, there are many emotional, romantic, tragic, depressing and compelling
scenes. Ultimately, dolphins running around the ship and it goes from the coast of England with
a bright weather to start a journey and Jack’s determination to make sure Rose live happily
creates a sweet taste to this story. This is a claim that the ship was “unsinkable” and also even
god himself unable to sink the whole ship into the water which leaves viewers an amazing
longing movie to watch rest of the emotional tale.
There are couple of movies got inspired by the movie which includes Shawshank
redemption, Saving Private Ryan, The Pianist, Rain Man and Casablanca. Titanic movie got
many awards because of perfect acting and impressive scenes depicted in the film and ultimately
this film has become one of the biggest legendary movies ever in the history of Hollywood.
Finally, every scene, cast, music composition, characterization story narration came out very
clearly and perfectly and which is why Titanic is one of my favorite movie ever.
