INTRODUCTION
Leader can be simply defined as a person who used to provide guideline to their
followers so that they work on right path for achieving predetermined goals (Mathews,
Fornaciari and Rubens, 2012). The present report is based on case study of 'Leading Change'.
The current project is proving the suitability of Herman Boone as a leader. Apart from this,
some other leadership figure is also going to highlighted who can play similar role for continuing
its development.
TASK
Q 4 Is Coach Boone the right person to lead the team in the future? Are there other
leadership figures who would be more effective in continuing its development?
Answer 1:
This has been observed that Titans Football team were facing various kinds of
challenges. These are interior and exterior racial tensions, pressure level of peers, sabotage
and collusion. In order to eliminate such obstructors, an assistant coach was being employed.
Their work is to motivate group members so that they can attain victory effectively. It is to be
noted that participants must have to forget differences between their racism and should played
together as a good team. Herman Boone was appointed as first leader (Carlson, 2012). He was
following dedicative leadership style. According to him, each and every player has to
understand culture and traditions of one another. He was having so many qualities including
fluent communication skills, confident, problem solver, etc. Boone had a real vision i.e. how to
succeed with a team. Apart from this, he was thinking about the process of building a powerful
team having courageous and determinant contestants. On the other hand, he was also
implementing transactional leadership quality. If some students were doing some mistake which
indirectly or directly impacts on the performance of whole party. He used to give punishment to
those players who are found guilty (Gaffney, 2017). This in turn offers him ability to dominate
entire group via his power. This help a lot in making team committed and working hard at all
time frame. On the basis of his punishing policy, he had brought a good standard within football
match. These all evidences shows his attribute of being devoted to work.
Boone desired to have a powerful team and win. For attaining this goal he was ensuring
that each and every participants work in integration by respecting one's another feelings. This
would create an optimistic environment which is bringing contestants together by seeking their
attention. At the same time, he knew that players had unbounded loved for football game and

allowed. Hence, no one was legally permitted to start any battle. This criteria is generating as
well as continuing surrounding of peace and coordination. Thus, it can be stated that Boone is a
correct person who is having capability of leading the team in forthcoming days.

No, Herman Bonne is not considered as suitable person to work as a team leader of
'Titans Football team'. Although he has good leadership skills but few demerits were present in
his nature. He acted as a dictator and tried to rule whole players by giving them order. If his
command was not followed by any participant, then he got very angry and used to give
punishment as he think that this will bring them at right path. Because of this reason, some of
the players were not satisfied by the guidance of previous coach as he used to penalise them
for minute mistakes (Hills and Kennedy, 2013). According to Bonne, success is completely
dependent on playing presentation of team workers. If they would not perform appropriately,
then the possibility of losing may be increased. But he was not thinking that such kind of
punishment would create negative impression in-front of its group members. In addition to this,

since it will direct impact on performance of unit in antagonistic manner. Therefore, it is better to
inspire them instead of torching on physical or mental level.

guide players in better ways and contribute in the activity of development. When player would

For arranging preparation session, he should ask their students to represent existed abilities in
