I have chosen my career in hospitality industry which was a very good decision of mine
as this enabled to realize my capabilities and skills. This has helped to improve my skills and
helped in overall development. I am working as a manager in reputed hotel and I need to manage
all the operational activities of the hotel. I was not able to work in a team and manage the team
but this job has enhanced my leadership skills and helped to work in a team. I have choice this
career as I have some professional skills which are needed for working in hospitality industry. I
can easily adapt myself with the changes that place around me (Marneros, Papageorgiou and
Efstathiades, 2020). This skill has helped me to easily handle changing customer attitudes. The
shifts in hotels are not same and there is no fix working hours. It was easy for me to adapt this
working culture and environment.
The interpersonal skills have enabled me to easily interact with others which has helped
me to quickly mingle with my team members. The can do attitude has helped to face all the
challenges and take effective decision. I was poor in making decisions but this career option has
improved my decision-making skills. Time management skills has enabled me to manage all the
operations and solve all the problems effectively. The positive attitude and self motivation has
enabled me to handle my team efficiently and helped in effective customer service. The
professional skills and motivation has enabled me to build a bright future in the hospitality
industry. Hospitality industry has a wide career opportunity and helps to realize the capabilities
and improve the skills. This career option improves the communication skills and enable to work

in a team which would enhance the skills and learn new things. Hospitality industry has helped
me to interact with people and deal with diverse people. This has enabled me to efficiently
handle customers and their problems in a smooth and effective manner. This career option has
helped in overall development i.e. personal development and professional development.
INTRODUCTION
Blogs are the manner through which one is able to discuss and share knowledge about
any field which would help others. It enables an effective communication between the blogger
and the reader. The blog is a website which contains personal reflection and comments on one's
experiences. The blogs are posted in a chronological order so that recent post can appear on the
top. There are many types of blogs like travel blog, fashion blog, food blog, fitness blog, career
blog, lifestyle blog, etc. Career blog enables the reader to get a career guidance which would
help in career development. The assignment is about the creation of career blog which includes
professional skills required in hospitality industry. It further highlights the advantages and
disadvantages of using professional blogs for general and career guidance.

Advantages and disadvantages of using professional blogs
Professional blogs help in career guidance as it makes an individual understand the pros
and cons of particular career option. My blog is related to professional skills required for career
in hospitality industries. Hospitality industry has a wide career options for an individual as this
industry is rapidly growing and providing great employment opportunities (Weber, Lee and
Crawford, 2020). The advantage of using my blog is that one can be able to get career guidance
in hospitality industry. They can be able to know the required skills for this industry and try to
improve those skills which would help in building better career (Giannikas, 2019). The
professional skills required in hospitality industry are adaptability skills, team work,
communication skills, problem solving skills, time management skills, etc. I have expressed my
personal experience of choosing this career and the skills which I have developed. These skills
have helped to become a better person and enabled over all development. Hospitality industry
has increased my confidence level and helped to face challenges.
By using my blog, people would get a proper career guidance in hospitality industry and
enable them to improve their professional skills which would be essential in building career in

this industry (Professional skills, 2022). Blog creates a positive learning attitude in the readers
and help them in solving their problems. Many blogs give answer to reader's questions and help
in effective guidance. Every thing has its own advantages as well as disadvantages. There are
many advantages of using my blog but it also has disadvantages. Using professional blogs may
confuse an individual in choosing career option. The blog would help to analyse and evaluate the
capabilities which may lead to decrease in confidence level of an individual. They may feel
pressure to improve the qualities and skills which are required for building career in hospitality
industry (Alobaidi, 2018). This may decrease the motivation level and pull them backward from
choosing this as career option. My blog may leave a negative impact on the users if they are not
able to positively intake my experience and career guidance.
CONCLUSION
Blogs are used to express the feelings and share experiences related to any field. This
helps to interact with people on online platform. People are able to improve their communication
and conversion skills by creating blogs and commenting on other's post. This helps in enhancing
innovative ideas. Blogging helps in enhancing technical knowledge about different areas and
become aware of every field. Professional blogs enables to share the experience of one's career
and help others in choosing their career. Professional blog has helped me to share my experience
of my career in hospitality industry. This will help others in developing their career in hospitality
industry as it has a wide career opportunity. The sustainable growth in hospitality industry has
opened numerous of career opportunities for people. There are many advantages and
disadvantages of using professional blogs. But the advantages and disadvantages depends upon
the attitude of users. The users need to take these blogs in a positive manner and try to improve
their skills to build a bright career.
