Introduction
Toboggan brewing company was started their business in 2015 to rave reviews. Smith
was the owner of the business and he hired the award winning brew master Tom Smith. Within
less time period Toboggan became one of the popular beer brands. The organization started
expanding their business for gaining better market value. However the organization faced several
challenges while expanding their organization on worldwide basis. The main issue was with the
quality of beer. The consumer preferences for beer changes quickly and if the lunatic fridge fails
to meet the demands of the customers then it will become difficult to manage the market value.
Hence in order to have good control over the market, smith decided to choose an alternative way.
The main focus is on preparing a proper consultant report that will be capable of providing better
support towards the Toboggan believing company.
Part 1: Project plan
Objective for the project (client)
The main objective of the project is to analyze the issues that are faced by Toboggan
brewing company at present. It has been observed that due to increase in need for globalization
the production rate of Toboggan has also increased. This will further lead to increase in the
overall expenses. In addition to this it has been observed that gaining a better control over a new
market is very difficult. Thus there is a need to understand the impacts that will be created if the
globalization does not support the business. This has the potential to lower the annual production
rate. The main focus is to ensure that the issues are resolved so that the business can gain better

The consulting group has been hired for the purpose of providing proper support towards
the business activities that are carried by Toboggan brewing company. It becomes very much
important to ensure that the client needs are fulfilled successfully. The main components that are
needed to be considered while developing the project is that ensuring that proper services are
offered towards the customers, the overall expense rate is lower than the overall profit margin
and the lunatic fridge is capable of meeting the customer demands.

The report aims at creating a proper proposal that will highlight the essential tasks that
are needed for resolving the issues faced by the brewing company. The report is intended
towards the owner of the brewing company and the key executives that are associated with the
organization. In order to complete the report successfully it is important to analyze each

Part 2: case study report
About the case study
Smith is the owner of the toboggan brewing company. Since the last one year Smith has
introduced several components into the market of liquor control board of Ontario that typically
includes craft beer, and lunatic fridge. With the release of lunatic fridge it has been observed that
the organization has obtained an outstanding success with the Products stocking out week to
week. However it was observed that Toboggan had reached the maximum brewing capacity.
Thus in order to continue the business Smith decided to build a new brewing facility that will be
offered towards their customers. Building a new brewing solution is considered to be most
efficient solution but the organization does not have sufficient funds to start producing a new
product. Thus for the purpose of designing a new beer, Smith decided to contract the business of
producing the beer to another breweries. However the overall cost and production rate has
already increased widely does in order to gain profit it is important to have a higher investments.
In the way of developing new craft beer it was observed that there are certain barriers that can
lead to complete failure of the new brands (Walczak & Kuchta, 2013). This includes a huge need
of capital investment for brewing equipment and facilities, the regulatory standards for alcohol
are very difficult and restrictive and there is a need to take permission from higher authorities.
Thus in order to develop a new business set up Smith and the business has faced several
challenges.
Problems needs to be solved
The problems that are faced by the management are with the high cost of launching a new
product in the market. Craft brewers often complained that low sales in the beer store made it

difficult to justify the cost of delivery. It has been observed that lunatic fridge were not capable
of providing proper quality of product towards their customers. There was a need to sell high
amount of product for gaining profit in the market. Moreover the organization failed to create
proper brand recognition in certain places; this led to low profit margins.
In order to reduce the problem faced by the management of the brewing company it is
important to ensure that products are launched on the basis of their market value. Before
launching a product into a market it is important for the organization to gain proper knowledge
about the market and the competitors (Špundak, 2014). There is a need to ensure that the new
product is capable of resolving the issues that were raised by the earlier products. The main issue
that was faced by the organization was to meet the expectations of the customers. It was
observed that the lunatic fridge was not able to meet the demands of the customers. This led to
hampering the overall profit margin.
It is expected that with the help of proper decision it will become easy to improve the
overall performance of the organization. This will ensure that the organization has gained a
better profit margin in the market and the brand value has also increased. The main focus is to
offer a better service towards the customers. With the help of proper efficient solution it will
become easy to resolve the issues that are faced by the brewing company.

The company faced a huge lag with the increase in domestic and global competitors due
to change in consumer choices. It has been observed that consumer choices, fluctuation within
the business partners and increase in customer’s interest have hampered the business widely.

referred to the internal factor that impacts an organization. On the other hand opportunities and
threats are related to the external factors that influences the Company. With the help of a swot
analyses it becomes easy to organize the top trends, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that
are associated with the organization. The main aim of performing swot analyses in this
assessment is to identify the issues and the way issues can be resolved within the brewing
company. Swot analysis helps in providing better support towards the factors that are associated
with the organization. For the purpose of determining the internal and external factors impacting

of porters are Threat of substitute products, Rivalries among the competitors, Threat of new
entrants, bargaining power of customer and bargaining power of suppliers (Ironside, 2019). With
the help of porter’s five forces it becomes easy to analyze the business overall objective.
Analyzing the barriers that may hamper the business performance also becomes easy with the
use of a porters five forces.
Bargaining power of suppliers
It has been observed that the supplier tends to have high bargaining power. This impacts
the overall business. The bargaining power of the provider is considered to be low, when
considering the toboggan brewing company that is the dominant global brand with a large

Part 6: Reflection
Question 1: The project aims at resolving the issues that are faced by the Toboggan brewing
company. There is a need to use proper analysis so that it becomes easy to develop an effective
project plan. With the help of effective project plan it becomes easy to reduce the chances of
errors within the organization. The main reason behind effectively planning the project is to
enhance the overall profit margin of the organization. In order to evaluate all the essential factors
we focused on identifying the issues that are faced by the organization at present. After that we
focused on identifying the areas that needed to be prioritized effectively. Once the issues are
identified properly it becomes easy to plan effective measures for protecting the resources.
Throughout the planning process we have ensured that all the essential components are
successfully discussed in the paper. However there are certain features that may have missed out
while developing the plan. While developing the project plan we did not prepare any budget or
resource chart that will be needed for understanding the requirements for successfully
implementing the new solution. The project phase is needs to be planned properly so that it can

initiate a better working and its resolution towards the company. If I get the chance of starting
the project all over again, I would focus on allocating the tasks to suitable persons. This will
increase the overall performance. With efficient management and performance it will become
easy to organize the different components of the project successfully. The main component of a
project plan is to include a proper project budget and Resource analysis. Hence I would like to
include these components if I get a chance to redevelop the project plan.
Question 2: As an individual team member I was always focused on analyzing the true facts that
were associated with the Toboggan brewing company. I focused on preparing the project plan
efficiently so that it becomes easy to analyze the factors that are behind the issues. My strength
as a team member was it that I have very good communication skills that helped in
communicating the essential factors with my team members. As an efficient team member I
ensure that every fact very conveyed to other team members so that the project can be developed
properly. Besides this one of my weakness was that I missed out certain faces that I needed it for
successful development of a project plan.
Question 3: My group handled the situation very well. Every component associated with the
project word pre-described and discussed with him the report. In the case of unplanned situation
we managed to organize the working components efficiently. The teamwork was very effective
and the main reason behind this was the coordination between the team members. In addition to
these every team member had a great communication skills that help in successful execution of
the project. The main reason behind stating the team members to be efficient is the great
communication skills, problem-solving capabilities, decision making, organizing and planning
the skills efficiently so that the target can be received and lastly did the liability feature. Every
team member worked hard for meeting the projects objective. As an individual team member I

decision in the critical time. In addition to this I had the influencing skills that have initiated the

Question 4: Yes as a group we make the objectives for the project. We have ensured that all the
components related to the project are fulfilled properly. In addition to these the personal
objective that was said before executing the project has also achieved (Ageret al., 2018). The
main aim of the project was to successfully offer a better solution for overcoming the issues that

performance. Thus as a team we have evaluated all the essential factors successfully. Effective
project management knowledge has helped in developing the project component successfully.
