Background of the plan
 TopEd is an educational institution which was established 25 years ago in Sydney.
TopEd has been running Bachelor and Master Courses in IT, Business, Law, Accounting,
Management and Medical Sciences for domestic and international students.
 TopEd has been running the courses in a sixteen-storied building which has not been
refurbished for the last 20 years.
 As the international student numbers have been increasing for the last five years and
teaching technologies are also changing day by day, TopEd is in the process of
transforming its campus into a smart campus, providing a high-quality student
experience through industry-leading courses.

Project Brief
 Right at this point of time institution is identified to be one of the most popular
educational institute but it was established near about 25 years ago
 Complete refurbishment required, with renovation and overhaul of all 16 floors of the
TopEd campus
 Lecturer rooms, computer and special purpose labs, admin and academic offices require
complete demolition
 Schools and all other offices will be aligned as per the vertical floor stacking from level 0
to level 15
 Teaching spaces and break out area for students needs to be created
 CEO, Reception, Library, Student experience would be specially refurbished with new high
technology devices

Project Given
 Construction to commence by July 2020 for all the 16 floors
 Throughout the project period, TopEd would continue to function and deliver courses to
student
 There would be one floor needs to be considered for the refurbishment works and it
needs to be undertaken as a ‘construction zone’

Project Constraints
 Refurbishment must be completed by 30th June 2023
 Total cost must not exceed the overall allocated budget
 Schedule is the top priority for staged floor-by-floor refurbishments to minimize the
disruptions in the teaching activities
 Quality is the top priority as the presentation places for students and external guests
