INTRODUCTION
In the podcast the aviation scenario of global adaptation of the touch less travel at
airports is discussed. The factors that influence the scenario are discussed along with the
technologies used at the airport for ensuring the safety. These technologies include the
biometric check-ins and boarding, going touch less inside the terminal and screening for
illness. The online research was done for understand the digital customer culture in the
aviation industry. Podcast is used as the digital output to present the innovative news report
on the global adaptation of touch less travel at airports. Podcast is used in its best way to
present the news with providing some numerical evidences. The justification for using the
podcast for the aviation industry is provided along with the understanding of the digital
customer culture for the aviation industry.

Aviation scenario: Global adoption of touch less travel at
airports

Review of the chosen aviation scenario; identifying key factors that have/ could have
an influence on these scenarios. The articulation and analysis of this discussion, along with
supporting evidence, will equate to 30%;
The corona virus pandemic has created a need for creating new priorities at the
airports during the travelling. The airports have accelerated the transformation to become
touch less and are investing in the technologies for that. The corona virus has generated a
need to stay at a distance from the people. This makes the worldwide airports to build a
system so they can provide the customers with the facilities to stay safe from the virus. This
is making it necessary to generate the services and operations that are touch free so that the
customers can travel from end to end journey without thinking about their safety (Zeng, Chen
and Lew, 2020).
The corona virus crisis is the reason for the accelerated transformation of the airport
on which the aviation players were working for years. The plan is to make the technologies
contact less at the airport. Many airlines companies are making partnership with the travel
technology company to introduce the new end-to-end touch less travelling for the customers.
These programs are helping the company to attract more customers especially during the
holiday season.
The solution to the contact free handling is made in the areas like check-ins, security,
baggage drop and boarding. In place of the boarding passes the customers are promoted to
use their phone as the pass in the airport premises. The airports are adopting the technologies
that are helping the airports from getting disrupted (Abu-Rayash and Dincer, 2020). The
coronavirus is helping the airport to get more digitalized and attract more customers by
making the process more secure and safe.
The technologies used at the airport for safety purpose are:

Facial recognition is used for recognising the image of the customers at the bag check.
The customer can scan the boarding pass on the phone and the face along with the profile of
the customer is recognised. The payment of the baggage fee and the transactions are done by
scanning the payment information on the phone before the bag is sent to the plane. Before
going to the gate the customers has to clear the security checkpoint that is accessed by the
facial recognition during the security screening checkpoint. The boarding position, group and
class of the customers are keyed with the customers profile by the facial recognition which
allows the customer to go directly to the airlines (Gordyushova and et.al, 2020).
Going touch less inside the terminal
The sit-down dining and the food courts at the airport are changed with the grab and
go meals. The payments are done on the phone to minimise the interaction with the staff and
the retailers. The customers are encouraged to maintain the safe distance from each other.
The airport maps are transformed in to the voice activation from the touchscreen to
avoid the touching or swiping of the screen by the customers. The ATM’s as well as the
bookstores are the very challenging to make contact free.
Screening for illness
Document Page
The airports are provided with the thermal fever scanning for the prevention. The technology
will check the customer’s body temperature from the surface and the help in indicating the
customer might have the infection. The passenger identified with having potential infection
is moved out the general public to minimise the spread. The passengers are then sent to the
isolation wards and from there to the treatment centre.
The biometric cameras used for the facial detection is also been used for the
temperature detection. The image of the passenger is only taken if the temperature of the
body is taken. After that the image is deleted and the no personal data is assessed. The image
is taken to identify the passenger from the others.
The factors that can influence the airport scenarios are the issue with the civil rights
and the data protection. The safe and touch less concept of travelling is creating an issue with
the privacy of the customers. It is required that the biometric program is made consensus as
well as the data sharing to the airports and airlines are made safe.
The possibilities with the biometric technology are very promising and the way it is
going to impact the travelling screening and safety process is exciting. The airports,
consultant and the airlines are doing their very best job to solve the problems. The airlines are
using the screen checked baggage for the making the travelling safer (Sriwijitalai and
Wiwanitkit, 2020).

The corona virus pandemic has affected many fields of life and various individuals all
round the world. The pandemic is providing an opportunity to learn from it and develop right
solutions by the collaboration of the companies for better ideas. The airline company along
with the travel technology company are developing the road map for safer, seamless and
healthier journey.
Online research is use to understand the digital consumer culture in the aviation
industry. The digital customer culture is unique due the three inherence characteristics that
are: consumer empowerment, decompartmentalisation and reciprocity between the online and
offline worlds. The digital consumer culture leads to the digital acculturation due to the fact
as it creates and recreates interactions with customers along with forming an identity. The
three main outcomes of digital acculturation are: digital separation, digital integration and
digital deprivation.
Use of a digital output for an innovative news report
Nowadays, there is rapid change in environment and new technology is
coming in market which helps customers in getting all information. Digital output which can
be used to present an innovative news report on Global adoption of touchless travel at
airports is to podcast this news. It is an output which is like radio and this can be used by
company to provide information to customers. This will help in providing details to people
and they can know what is going in market and what are the new methods which are being
used by industries to run their business. Global adoption of touchless travel at airports means
that when passengers are travelling they do not have to touch anything due to corona virus
(Drew, 2017). Podcast is a best way which can be used as it will help in covering wide area
and all people will get information. It is safe for people as they can travel with safety. Some
safety measures are being taken by team members of airport such as, touchless inside the
terminal and they have to use sanitisers. There are many necessary steps which are being
taken by airport team so that people can travel safely. Checking is done of all passengers and
if any ill person is being found then treatment is given. This information can be provided to
customers with the help of podcast. It is a way of communicating information and people
should take safety measures. There are many benefits of podcast such as, it making
information personal and it reaches to wide area and large number of people within very less

Podcast as best digital output
The digital output chosen for the informing the global adoption of touch less travel at
the airports is podcast. It gives the insight directly from the view of the aviation industry. The
impact it is having ion the industry and the changes that are made in accordance to the need
of the time. Different topics and impacts can be easily discussed along with providing the hint
of interest towards hearing. Reading from a document of paper can be really boring and time
consuming thing to do in the time where time is everything. The podcast makes it easier for
the listeners to hear the information without stopping their daily work. It is a great way
reaching the people when they are busy.
In today’s world the technology has developed to heights and the podcast can be
heard by the people while they are driving or are at the gym just using the Bluetooth
technology. Apple has provided with the pre-installed app in the device for the podcast and
few clicks will make people listen to the podcast. The app will also help the people get to
know when the next episode is available to listen (Swiatek, 2018). Podcast is in demand and
is making its move in the aviation industry. Listening to podcast has become the choice of the
people. There are 800,000 podcasts and 54million episodes available worldwide that is
enough to show that the demand is high and is continuously increasing.

is easier and require little effort to absorb the information. It is useful for the aviation
industry as it build personal connection with the listeners; it is convenient for the listeners to
listen the podcast, easy to get started, an alternative to video, increase traffic generation,
improve conversation, highly engaging, build more brand authority, can be used as an
additional revenue stream, helps in brand awareness, more interactive than other types and a
handy onboarding tool.
The can be understood that there is no digital transformation in the airports without a
digital culture. The industry has to not only deal with the digital products, customer
interaction and services but also with the need to learn how to fuel the core operations with
the technology. It is understandable that the traditional ways of working are not going to
work with the current scenarios (Dey, Yen and Samuel, 2020). For the digital transformation
to be installed in the aviation industry the digital culture is necessary. The aviation industry
requires a digital customer culture and failure to that can risk the transformation failure. 80%
of the companies following the culture have sustained and has shown strong performance.
The digital customer culture will help the aviation industry to give the results faster.
After the industry has adopted the digital customer culture successfully, it has to revisit the
operating model. The industry has to introduce new practices to improve the areas where the
contact less goal of the industry is not fulfilled.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above report that the global adoption of the touch less
travel at the airport has created the need for the airports to become digitalized. Due to the
current condition of corona virus the airports have to transform for the safety of the people.
The airport introduced the technologies such as biometric that use the facial recognition for
the check-in and boarding process. The airports have also introduced the services of grab and
go for the people who want to have some food breaks and the payment is done over phone.
The screening test is introduced at the airport for the testing the potential people with
infection. Podcast is use for presenting the innovative news report because it is easiest mode
of communication and convenient for the listener to have the information. The understanding
of the digital customer culture for the aviation industry is discussed.
