Tour and travels is a major industry that has gained success in the recent history. The
scope for exploring the world and witnessing the scenic beauty makes the demand for tourism
industry high. A major part of the society is highly dependent on tourism industry and at the
same time, the tourism industries are taking measurable steps to introduce new trends and
developments in the industry. The study will discuss about the new trends that the countries are
taking up:
They are introducing adventures for seniors: the tourism industry is not limiting the
chance of enjoying the adventures only for the youth and middle aged. They are introducing the
adventure industry for the seniors too. This will provide motivation and enthusiasm to the seniors
who were not interested in travelling earlier. They will now find more interest in travelling.
However, there are risks that are directly related this trend. The senior’s are aged and such
adventures might not be well suited for them. There will be high risk for the seniors not being
able to tolerate the adventure risks and can be a life threatening risk.
The tourism industry has also introduced spa therapy and massage centre in the places
attracting more customers to those places. The spa industry is introducing domestic leisure
tourism from wider trends. The spa breaks and therapy in tourism are adding the interest to the
health conscious generation. The tourists get attracted to such special offerings given to the
tourists. There are few places that have no such scenic beauty or centre of attraction but their spa
therapy has attracted a huge population from all over the earth(Wilks, Stephen and Moore 2013).
