1.1 Effects of current trends and development on tour operators industry
In the UK, there are different current trends and development program
exists that create impact on tour operator industry. They are as follows:
Integration (Horizontal and vertical): In recent and current
development, integration is one of the important perspective. In
this regard, LCB tour operator consider two types of integration
such as horizontal and vertical. Horizontal integration occur when
two industries merge together. For example, Thomas Cook Group
and LCB work together. On the other hand, vertical integration
consider when company expand their business into variety of
different areas.
Advancements in technology: In UK, advancement on technology
consider development of the business to communicate several
things in desired manner at workplace. LCB tour operator consider
internet of things, machine learning, cognitive technology, etc.

Types of tour operators
Inbound tour operators: Inbound tour operators provides trips
within the country to deal with several numbers of tourists to visit
their countries. Local assistance also provided when tourists
arriving in the country. Hence, they provide local arrangements
from airport pickup to stay.
Domestic tour operators: Furthermore, this kind of tour operators
deals in country's boundaries of a particular nation. They are also
known as resident tour operators. Hence, they are known as upper
hand to know domestic seasons, culture and food.
UK outbound tour operators: Outbound tour operators provides
multinational tourism activities. They take resident from their own
country to visit another country. As a result, they sell tour package
to customer in own country.
Specialist tour operators: These types of tour operators provides
services to niche market and has interest in particular geographical
areas for special kind of activity.
. Increased environment awareness and responsible
tourism: In UK, current and recent development consider
increasing in environmental awareness which is
successfully implemented to develop tourism activities in
different areas of the world. For instance, LCB consider
their work with Hilton hotel so that environment
awareness also need to increase to develop more
significant advantages.
