LO3: Strategies to overcome communication barriers
It can be noted that using certain types of strategies could
eventually help in overcoming barriers in communication.
These are being stated below:
- The management should clarify the idea about
building hotel chain in the region of Sri Lanka to
the employees and make the objectives very clear
to them as well (Kwiatkowski, 2017)
- Proper structure of the message should be followed
during the time of sending information so that the
receiver understands the message within his/her
clarity
- The sender of the message should be aware of the
language and tone of the message. This tone
should not hurt the emotions of the receiver and
the content should be brief and precise in nature
(Oetzel, 2017)
- The sender of the message should send messages
properly so that it adds value to the receiver and
increase the interest level among them to conduct
business for a fruitful venture ahead
- Lastly, it is the duty of both the sender and receiver
to put more stress on the communication system so

LO6: Cultural influence on communication and negotiation
It can be noted that culture has a strong influence on communication and negotiation through which the company
can achieve their desired objectives, build relations, and resolve all the disputes that may arise due to lack of
cultural awareness. Here, communication plays an important role, which helps in spreading the cultural awareness
among the concerned people. Further Mussleman, Jackson and Thiele, (2017) states that culture profoundly makes
the people to think, communicate and behave in accordance to the background they belong. Thus, for any
multinational company it is essential for them to undergo certain negotiation process so that they could easily
eradicate the problems raised by cultural differences. Thus, it can be noted that culture plays an important role in
shaping the style of communication that the organisation wants to adapt.
