Tourism is one of growing industry in world and is established in many infrastructures in origin
of tourist. There are many activities which is concern with needs and requirement of tourist. It is
one of important activities which ensure growth in different factors (Abascal, 2019). It consists
movement of people at one place to another and require infrastructure which is related to
transport. Movement of people from one place to another require accommodation of people and
leads to drinks as well as food. It ensures stay of people at place and ensure interaction with
people. These create job opportunities an also improve economic condition. This essay discusses
description of development of contemporary tourism and significant factors. It identifies positive
as well as negative economic image on tourism. Additionally, it discusses positive and negative
impact on environmental impact on tourism. Moreover, it discusses positive and negative
cultural image of tourism.

Description of development of contemporary tourism and significant factors
Tourism refers to activities of people travelling and staying at places which are available to
outside of usual environment for leisure, business as well as for other purposed which are not
present more than one year (Bakar, 2020). Contemporary tourism is one of important
phenomenon which is highly misunderstood in world. It is It is intended by different developing
countries and is one of source for economic developing in developed as well as emerging
countries. It is one of largest industry which is agent of culture as well as changes and
contributing to environmental changes.
There are different types of factors in tourism including economic, political, technological,
environmental, social and may more. These factors are important which create positive and
negative impact on a country. Tourism ensures growth of economy in many ways as it create
employment opportunity, boost local industries, provide opportunity to earn foreign exchange,
increase income of government. It also create positive impact on environment as for purpose of
attracting more tourist towards country, government ensure cleanliness of their areas, growing
more plants and reducing pollution level in country.

Tourism is one of growing industry which is essential for economic developments as it provide
opportunity to local people to earn money by selling their products and service to tourist who
came from different countries. It ensures growth of local industries as they can get customers for
their products (Chang, 2021). It also creates employment opportunities in a country as in order to
service to tourist, business needs to hire people from different countries. There is various
international hotel business which expand their business to host countries and provide
employment opportunities to local people (Xiang, 2018). It also provides support to local
business as they can also earn to these international organisations. It provides opportunity to
country to earn foreign exchange as for traveling people bring some currencies along with them
to provide opportunities to them to earn profit. It creates demand for local crafts as well as food
which is beneficial for development of that country. It also provides benefits to government as
they charge different taxes and others duties on products and service purchased by customers
which is reinvested by them on development of people.
Tourism ensures economic development but sometimes it create negative impact on economy of
a country as majority of these jobs are seasonal and does not provide sufficient payment to a
person (Crossley, 2020). Tourism business is season as tourist came to a country in specific
season. This tourism most of opportunities for big organisation and does not allow local people
to earn money from tourist. It leads to prices increase of local shops as they charge high prices in
seasonal time. Tourist are wealthier and are ready to pay increased prices for products which
create loss for local people. There is various cost of tourism which are hidden and create adverse
impact on economy of host countries. There are various consumable drinks and food items which
are imported by host countries from other countries which results in increase in imports.
Discussion of positive and negative environmental impact of tourism
Environment refers to total surrounding as well as condition in which a person lives.
Environment of a person is made up of different living condition which can be impacted from
tourism activities. Tourism creates positive impact on environment of a country in many ways.
There are large numbers of tourist came to a country which provide them opportunity to earn
money and create environmental consciousness (Hall, 2020). Foreign tourist sometimes provides
good ideas related to minimising stress environment and also helps to promote sustainable
tourism. With this government can raise funds for more resources as well as beautification of

area. They also ensure cleanliness to attract more tourist which is good for enhancement of
environment. It helps to increase protective measures for environment and also ensure ecological
balance. Tourism provide opportunity to local people to earn money from tourist whch make
them more aware about impact of environment as well as their cooperation for maintaining
equilibrium. They also make efforts to make different areas clean like roads, lakes, street,
mountain slopes and many more.
Tourism causes various positive impact on environment but sometimes it leads to negative
impact on environment (Razak, Hall and Prayag, 2019). With increasing tourism in country, land
in that country is used for purpose of construction of hotels, restaurants, hours to meet demand of
tourist. A large portion of land which is covered with forest are sometimes replaced for
construction purpose to made that place tourist attraction point. Agriculture land can be replaced
with building, garbage disposal and lands. Tourism also leads to construction of roads for
transportation in slope of mountain which leads to different problems like soil erosion that can be
result in imbalance in ecological. There is increasing possibility of landslide in such teas which
can result in interaction of humans.
Positive and negative impact of socio-cultural impact of tourism
Society refers to community which is grouping people living in specific area that has most
common institution, tradition interest and activities. Culture refers to process which is adopted
by society to stay together and bind people together in a society (Johnson and Samakovlis,
2019). Tourism creates positive impact on socio culture factors as it provides opportunity to
people to get acquainted with different cultural group from international as well as national
origins. It is one of component which education which promote understanding of two and more
cultural group and allow them to offer cultural exchange among host as well as guest. It ensures
people to develop mutual understanding and sympathy about each other and also ensure
reduction of prejudices. These sympathy and tension are important to decrease tension and helps
to increase peace and relationship. Tourism ensures development of community which providing
different facilities as well as services. These services are providing support to local people and
improve living condition. It creates awareness related to values and important of cultural, natural,
historical sites. It also creates feeling of pride in both national as well as local heritage which
also increase consciousness among them.

Tourism ensures development of society and community but at same time it also create negative
impact on them. Tourism fails to respect local people, their customers as well as moral values
due to ignorance as well as carelessness. There are some tourists which came from different
society with different life style (Loehr, 2020). These people get pleasure for every kind and
behave arrogantly which is not acceptable in own society. Clashes in culture can be take place
due to different in religion, culture, behaviour, values as well as level of prosperity. There can be
violation as well as breaking of norms as well as custom through foreign tourist which leads to
conflict between host and guest. Local language erosion and dialect is also increasing in terms of
purity as well as mixture of language.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that tourism is an important activity
for a country as it ensures growth in that country. There is various impact cause by these
activities in a country including economic, cultural as well as environmental impact. It provides
opportunity to government to earn by imposing different taxes on products purchased by people
which can be reinvested by them on development of people. It ensures development of
community and society by improving condition of roads street, and other things. In order to
increase tourism, government ensure availability of resources and other things. But sometimes it
creates negative impact on a country as tourist may sometimes result in negative impact on
cleanliness of places as people through garbage anywhere. Sometimes, it also creates impact on
feeling and cultural sentiments of people.
