The first and very most important economic impact of tourism is it helps in providing
employment to many of the individuals and therefore this helps in increasing the revenue
of the economy of the world (Ren, and et.al, 2019).
By the help of tourism industry the country can make more money and the tourism
industry charge some taxes and fees for booking and also some fees for the amenities and
this fees helps in the overall increment of the economy.
One of other and major impact on the economy of the country of tourism industry is the
local tradition and culture are kept alive because the tourists love to enjoy the traditions
events and concerts like in Rajasthan the people love to listen and see the folk music and
dance of the destination.
The money which are getting from the tourists is helping the county in various economic
factors like it can be used for the protection of natural landscape and can also help in
making new roads, new airport and other facilities for the betterment of the tourists.
Some other positive impacts of tourism are learning about various cultures, increasing
acceptance and addition by LGBTQ+b travel, increasing the facilities like parks,
reforming services, investments in the art and culture (Icoz, and Icoz, 2019).
Negative economic impacts of tourism
The tourism industry provide employment but this employment is limited and is totally
dependent on the seasonal factor and also paid very less amount to the employees.
In the tourism industry there are many hidden charges that affect the economy in a very
drastic manner. Just like many products are imported by the host countries which are
developing because the local products are of inferior quality and therefore the profit goes
to the countries from where they have imported.
In some of the poor and not developed countries the money used for the infrastructure is
given by the government but the profit has been export to the developed countries when
the investors of the overseas countries finance the hotels (Comerio, and Strozzi, 2019).
Because of the more demand of the basic services and products by the tourists leads to
the increment in the price at the destination. This becomes very negative and adversely
affect the native citizen whose earnings does not increase in that ratio.
In the tourism packages almost two third of the income goes to the airlines, hotels and
other amenities and not to the local citizen.

Negative environmental impact of tourism
One of the major negative environmental impact on the tourism is the overuse of water.
Many tourists like to use swimming pools and water parks and this leads to the wastage
of water. Because of this many local citizens do not get enough water for their basic
necessities.
The tourism industry depends on the depletion of renewable and non-renewable
resources and this contain various types of minerals, metals and biomass resources.the
tourism industry burn higher amount of fossil fuel and hence produces greenhouse gases
which affect the health of fertile soils which is needed to grow the food and damage the
whole ecosystem.
One of the major impact of tourism on the environmental is pollution and there are many
ways in which it can be seen like increased emission linked to transport and higher need
of energy . For instance cruise ships are the major factor for the pollution.
The tourism industry is also affecting the greenhouse gas emission and contribute to the
global warming.one of the most common form of travel in terms of emission are the
airlines and they accounted for total 40% of the total carbon dioxide emission in the
tourism industry(Kongbuamai, and et.al, 2020).
The tourism industry is also degrading the physical ecosystem such as rain forests,
wetlands and alpine regions because these are more attractive and liked by the tourists
and this leads to the loss of biodiversity. The unsustainable use of the land leads to the
sand dune and soil erosion and the corrosion of the site.

Tourism is also helping in strengthening the local communities just like the jobs
developed by the tourism is a great way of boosting the local community. Local people
can help the tourism industry in many ways like they can shoe the local culture and also
can sell the products at a local price and this will be beneficial for the tourists as well.
One of the most common and positive socio culture impact on tourism is it helps in
commercializing the culture and art. The local citizens can show some events and shows
related to the local art for preserving and protecting the local culture and tradition.
Preservation of heritage is also one of the positive socio culture impact on the tourism
industry. Many visitors come for seeing the local heritage and this is the reason for
preserving the heritage. This can be strategic planning for the development of the tourism
industry as well (Ramkissoon 2020).
Negative socio culture impacts of tourism
Because of the heavy traffic in the area the infrastructure is not able to cope with the
increased rush so due to this leads to overcrowding, poor sanitation and this causes
diseases to the tourists as well as to the local citizens.
Local people have to relocate to some other places for the tourism development and due
this they lost their job and employment.
The tourism industry provide a staged authenticity which refers to the ‘pseudo-events’
which does not relate with the local culture (Ibănescu, and et.al, 2018.). These events are
artificial in nature and creates a culture which does not represent the real culture of the
destination place.
The tourists always some familiarity in the destination place and this leads to the loss of
culture diversity for example McDonald culture represent the American culture outside
