The destinations of tourism are competing with one another in order to fascinate the international
tourists, and the impact helps in improving the economy of the country. The tourism planning
and policy in Dubai uses the hybrid integrated model of tourism and relies on the political
stability. Further, the shopping is the most common activity of tourists and also a motivation for
the purpose of travel. Moreover, the factors like minimum prices and taxes, extensive promotion,
great variety of goods and the coverage by media enhance the tourists to shop in Dubai. The
researchers stated that the Dubai is being perceived as the heaven for shopping during the
shopping festivals by attracting numerous tourists.
There are various factors which influence the choice of tourists in order to visit Dubai like the
strategic location as it is easy to reach Dubai by flight in almost three hours from Mumbai, eight
hours from Hong Kong and it takes the overnight flight from the London, etc. Therefore, Dubai
international airport is defined as the busiest airport as there are 135 airlines which are connected
to Dubai. Further, it is easy to reach Dubai for the tourists in order to explore the places and
enjoy the shopping festival (Henderson, J. C. 2014). The country has the political stability unlike
the other countries like Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, etc. Dubai functions within the constitutional
monarchy’s framework and the rulers were accredited for the modernization of Dubai.
Furthermore, Dubai's economy soon shifted to tourism, and it has become a destination for
tourism. According to the researchers, the economy of Dubai increased by 2.9 percent in 2014
i.e. AED 28 billion. The department of commerce management and tourism have been
empowered in order to develop a continuous excitement and buzz in Dubai. They came up with
the events like shopping festival of Dubai, summer surprises of Dubai, etc.

The country has heavily invested in order to improve the infrastructure of tourism and also offers
complemented buses and taxis for the convenience of the tourists. The tourist’s accommodation
ranges from hotel apartments to the luxury hotels. There are various attractions for the tourists in
order to explore like Dubai mall, Ibn Battuta, Armani, etc. However the researchers have stated
that Dubai is the ambitious tourism for leisure and the destination for entertainment and there are
various cultural and theme parks sports, facilities for entertainment, shopping, etc. further, Dubai
is transforming the image of urban landscape by featuring, hotels, offices, luxurious residences,
complexes for entertainment, etc. As Dubai wants to retain the tourists and the expatriates by
providing them a more comfortable place to work and live. Therefore, the average trips in Dubai
are estimated to grow by 3 million per day to 13.2 million till 2020 (Mehta et al., 2014). The
emirates of Dubai is the great place for the tourists as they get everything for the purpose of
entertainment at low prices and low taxes.
