INTRODUCTION
Tourism refer as the social, cultural activity which describe the movement of the person
from countries to countries. People used to visit different places whenever they found it new
things to explore (Bargeman and Richards, 2020). Tourism is the main reason for driving the
economy of the organization. Tourism industry also consider as the travel industry, where the
traveller books their journey to make the remarkable or memorable moment of journey. It is the
biggest industry from which the tourism and hospitality business is depends on because of this
people buy their tickets or package to explore the place where they want to go (McKercher,
2020). Following report will illustrate the description about the contemporary tourism, it also
describe the positive and negative economic and environmental effect of the tourism, it also
covers the illustration about the future implication of tourism. Report will also discuss the
positive and negative aspect of the socio economic impacts of the tourism.
Contemporary tourism and its development
Contemporary tourism is the most crucial global phenomenon, as the current tourism is
mainly interested in the emotional aspect of the travel. In which the travel experience is done by
associating with the local communities, it is something which the both developed and developing
country is investing just to increase their economic growth. Tourism is considering as one of the
most important industry of today’s era, as people prefers to visit different countries to gain
knowledge or for the business purpose as well. Tourism is also major contributor for the
environmental and cultural changes (Martínez-Hernández and Yubero, 2019). Tourism is now
becoming a integral part of the people, as people around the venue mainly earn from the tourism
as they sell local products and make it unique to attract the tourist to buy such things. Thus it
plays an significant role for every country to improve their infrastructure and to promote the
growth in society. Contemporary tourism is also understand as the international approach which
is presenting the new and refresh process which mainly accounts the tourism ethics, marketing.
As for the development of the contemporary tourism, tourism industry associated with
the local community as to attract the tourist to visit the community and to buy the product which
reflects the culture of such community (Cooper, and Alderman, 2020). It is also beneficial in

With this traveller can easily experience the diversity and other customs in different culture. As
the tourism market is highly increasing travellers are demanding for visiting or exploring the
authenticity of the culture which is mainly found in a community. Thus for the local government
it is important to renovate the historical places so that tourist can easily mark their presence and
create a memories of their journey (Ngowi and Jani, 2018). It is good for changing the country’s
infrastructure and to promote the growth in society by creating job opportunities for youth. Thus
development of the contemporary tourism also supports the digital marketing to attract the
traveller from across the borders.
Positive impact of economic
New opportunity of jobs: Nowadays, it has been known that tourism industry is growing and
developing in huge manner from which a positive economic impact can be raised where not only
the tourism industry will obtain the success where, many people also can obtain the equal
success. Through the huge craze and demand of tourism sector, the industry is able to provide the
numerous kinds of employment for the human beings from which it will increase the economic
value and shares value of an individual person (Martín Martín and et.al., 2018). Due to this rapid
increase of the industry and giving different opportunities to people to get employee will also
bring the rise in economic value of a country and can increase the particular country growth and
development.
Increase standard of living: The tourism industry is able to provide the change in the standards
or quality of living of a people from which it encourages the economic development of the
industry and country as well. Increase in quality living will also rise up the prices of the food and
beverages and other needful materials which also increases the GDP of a country and provide the
positive economic impact.
Negative impacts of economic
Hidden costs: As, it has been already known that everything has its own positive answer
negative both impacts where the tourism industry puts many different types of Hidden costs
which makes the tourist to pay for the particular area and affects the destination places
(Potgieter, Berman, and et.al., 2019). Most of the time, many food and beverages imports from
foreign country where the huge amount of economic is used and still not get the best quality
product.

Transportation: The tourism industry includes many different types of services for the
customer and guest to utilize and stay comfortable where the transportation of the goods makes
the industry to pay the heavy amount in the transportation areas (Yi, Yuan, and et.al., 2020).
Negative impacts of environment
Increase of deforestation: The tourism industry is heavily impacts the nature and harming the
environment widely. For running a tourism business, people are increasing the deforestation for
the land where the accommodation place can be build for the tourists (Puri, 2019). An increase of
deforestation or cutting of large amount trees harms the environment widely. Due to the increase
of deforestation the global warming is also increasing and an imbalance in climatic issues takes
place.
Pollution: The tourism industry also accelerating the increase of pollution which is widely
harming the nature or environment. There can be different kinds of pollution can take place in
harming or affecting the tourism industry (Katircioglu, Gokmenoglu, and et.al., 2018). For
example, the tourist use the means of transport for going one place to another causes noise and
air pollution.
Positive impact of environment
Cleanliness measures: Through the huge amount of people traveling from one place to another
it increases the awareness among people related to cleanliness and health and safety measures
which helps the places to be get cleaned on time and can reduces the risk and diseases from
fungal bacteria and viruses due to uncleanness. Cleanliness measures helps the environment to
stay healthy and full of hygiene from which the environment can be get cleaned and can reduces
the harm of global warming.
Maintenance of monuments: With the help of keeping the awareness in the tourism industry
people will be able to improve the services and high maintenance of the monuments from which
the places and locations can be get cleaned and protected for a long-term and can increase the
culture and traditional feelings among people. It secures the environment widely and can
enhance the environment protection (Fethi, and Senyucel, 2021).
Positive impact of socio-cultural
Creates awareness: The tourism industry accelerates and creates the awareness among people
related to beliefs and cultures (Walsh, and Winsor, 2019). The social-cultural area puts the

Provides better education: The tourism industry also able to increase the new opportunity and
well education of the historical places from which different places of people can understand the

The education will provide the better knowledge and understanding of the places which also
aware the people to know about the traditions and cultures of different places and locations.
Negative impacts of socio-cultural
Family structure: Today, the entire world is growing and developing in its own manner where it
reduces the togetherness among people and creating a nuclear family structure as the people of
New generation do not able to understand the importance of social-cultural areas and wants to
live as a nuclear family (Marques and et.al., 2020).
Fostering unethical activity: There are many types of crime and unethical practices takes place
in the society which harms the society and country both as well. The development of tourism
industry is one the reason behind the happening of these unethical practices where the foreign
people travels from one place to another and follows the unethical activity which like dealing of
drugs (Sharma, and Rao, 2018) .

includes the different types of positive and negative impacts of the tourism industry where the
individual is required to know about these areas and can be aware. It has been recommended that
people have to focus in the different areas of the tourism so that they can understand the
