INTRODUCTION
Hospitality Industry consists of two parts Travel and Tourism industry. Travel and
Tourism industry is very big enterprise having one goal in common to provide products and
services to travellers. It has become on of the largest civil industry of the world. It has become
one of major factors of global economy and has contributed 7.6 trillion US dollars in 2016.
Travel and tourism industry is divided into five different parts which includes Lodging
operations, food and beverages, transportation services, retails and activities. It is also important
for the country or region as it generates income from the tourists visiting(Becker., 2016).
1) Inter-relationship between different elements of Travel and tourism
There are various elements in travel and tourism industry like customer service,
accommodations, transportation services food and beverages etc. and there is a inter-relationship
between these elements not a single component of this industry can operate without other
elements like there is interrelationship between tourists operators and travel agents provide
customers to the hotels and resorts, for providing food and beverages to the customers a hotels
have to deal with the retailers, a relationship between tourism service and transportation service
as there is increase in tourism service it will increase the transportation service and vice versa,
relationship between hotels provide packages to tour operators and tour operators gives to travel
agencies and they bring customers to hotel(Ormond and Sulianti., 2017). If there is a weakness in
quality of food and beverages it will effect the tourist experience, if a tourist faces a
transportation problem in reaching his/her destinations it will effect on the tourist experience. If
there is a weakness in customers service it will dissatisfy a tourist and will have bad experience.
2) key roles of different elements
Tourist operator: Its role is to set a link between hotels and travel agents in providing
the customers to both
Customer Service: Its role is to provide service to the customers by satisfying the needs
of the tourists.
Accommodations: it is the place were customers gets food and shelter and there are
different types of accommodations(Duncan and Cohen., 2016).
Accessibility: There should be proper accessibility available to tourists, a continuous
transportation facilities should be provide to customers, that too comfortably and with security.

These elements like tourist operators have interact with hotels for the accommodations
and also for the travel agents in order to provide transportation services to tourists.
3) developments in travel and tourism industry
Historically travelling was only reserved for the royal people and for upper classes as it
had been expensive and with the limited transportation available. But nowadays due to
technological developments and improvements in transportation facilities have led to the global
tourism. Now it has become a part of life style(Huang and et.al., 2017). At present this industry
represents an global economic growth, this industry have made a huge developments like
providing a good package tours which are affordable, development in technology to attract
tourists like booking of cabs and hotels and resorts online, change in the legislations of different
countries regarding T&T as it took place in UK, upgrade in the hotel and travel services all
across the world, increase in providing quality food due to change in life styles of the consumers.
There has been up gradation and tourists destinations and also developments of new tourists
destinations(Teo., 2017). An introduction to customers reviews which have a great impact on the
industry as now tourists check the review before choosing any destinations.
4) Various key elements in travel and tourism industry and their role in creating an experience
for tourism
Various key elements and their role can be explained as:
Pleasant weather: Depending up on the weather of any destinations tourists are attracted
towards it(Drosos and Tsotsolas., 2015). Some destinations are warm and some
destinations are very cold depending up on the choice of tourist it will help in creating an
experience for them
Cultural and historical factors: These factors have a tremendous impact on the tourism.
Many tourists travel to experience these factors across the world, and these factors plays
an important role in providing an experience to travellers.
Accessibilities: This facility is very essential for any tourist spot. There should
reachability every locations better the accessibility better the tourist experience. If a
tourist is not able to reach its destinations it will develop a bad experience(Haas, Fedler
and Brooks., 2017). So this is a important factor

Accommodations: This is an important factor for tourists experience and cannot be
ignored(Leung, Au and Law., 2015). As tourists visit stays at the hotel with the excellent
facilities to stay and with good customer services and depending up these facilities and
service may lead positive as well as negative experience on the tourist.
Safety and security: At present with the change in lifestyles there has been increase in
the level of safety and security of the tourists. If the tourists feel safe and secure at any
tourist destinations it will create a positive experience in them.

of travel and tourism have an impact on the industry and weakness in one element resultants in
the weakness of another elements. This report also concludes that these elements are playing a

tourism industry
