INTRODUCTION
Tourism and hospitality industry comes together as the person who loves travel needs extra
benefits like hotels, restaurants, leisure activities. Both the industries are related to one another.
Travelling at different places is loved by many people and this travel always require food and
stay, so both the industries go hand in hand (Camilleri, M. A., 2018). Tourism exactly means
when people go for the purpose of pleasure for sightseeing and enjoyment purpose. Hospitality
means spending extra income for restaurants, hotels and leisure activities. Everything in both the
industries were going good before COVID 19. The pandemic has changed everything the tourism
and hospitality industry have come to a kind of recession as other sectors have also faced
(Fatima, T. and Elbanna, S., 2020).
MAIN BODY
The main stakeholder of the industries are customers and now due to COVID 19, there is a fear
in the minds of customers about going out in the same country so how will they go for the
purpose of travelling. Tourists are the person who spend money on travelling and the focus is to
keep them satisfied and happy. This year the tourism as well as hospitality industry have faced a
major loss which has also impacted the jobs, millions of jobs are in threat. But this would now be
taken as an opportunity, this time would not be wasted and a new plan of green tourism has come
out. Now the focus is on sustainable use of resources basically where people visit for travel
purpose that is home for many local people there who are also the stakeholders of both the
industries (Bore, I., et. al., 2017). The things will restart in a responsible and sustainable manner.
There would be a balance between people living, working and visiting there and they will be
taught the concept of optimum use of resources which is beneficial for the present generation and
would also benefit the future generations. the communities and the people living there always
support both the industries so now it the duty of industries to use the resources in a efficient
manner. As the customers are unable to move out due to this pandemic, and are sitting at their
homes, will now love to travel in green tourism and the local people out there will also get the
benefit of this concept (Saqib, N., 2019). The customers will be made aware of the impact of the
new concept. The next stakeholder that comes in the list the local business there, they have also
faced a major loss and as social distancing have become new normal, the first thing is to take
these lure locals stay permanently in the cities. The airlines have also seen loss, as no planes are

now seen. The sky is empty. Due to this social distancing being normal the airlines have to plan
the sitting arrangement accordingly (Kaushal, V. and Srivastava, S., 2020). Airline industry is
also one of the stakeholder as it supports the tourism industry. As no one is coming for travelling
the hospitality industry is also facing losses and have rooms vacant as never before. According to
Guardian 28 the industry will again grow but the recovery would be slower (Tung, V. W. S. and
Law, R., 2017). As the people will travel again but with new measures and if the industry takes
concept of sustainable tourism the things can go better. The air travel also contributing to
pollution so the measures are to be taken for the same as it may impact the climate (Sigala, M.
and Gretzel, U. eds., 2017). The rates of these airlines will go up due to use of renewable fuel as
the things are changing and going on a positive side. The main loss is faced by these travel
agencies whose business haver stopped working and have no tourist, but it is the time they are
spending on research and planning how to start in a better way (Viglia, G. and Dolnicar, S.,
2020). As the people are in homes for so long, they will definitely travel and the industry will
again show boom. No doubt the travel would be smaller, there would be lesser flights, less CO2,
few guests to serve means need of less employees and also less waste but this can be taken as
positive and a chance to get the industry back (Moro, S. and Rita, P., 2018).
CONCLUSION
Once the things started in tourism sector the demand for hotels would automatically improve.
People will eat out in restaurants and will love to stay at a place from where the view is good.
COVID 19 has made these industries and whole economy in a loss but have given the industry
chance to come up in a sustainable manner which would be beneficial in long run.
