SUMMARY
In this research project there is discussion about importance of tourism at Sighisoara.
Aim of this research is to understand role of different organisations and individuals in developing
tourism business at Sighisoara. In this investigation, there is discussion about different aspects
which importance of tourism on country is analysed. With this it will be clear that there is
economic assistance to Sighisoara with increment in tourism activities. Information is collected
through primary i.e. questionnaire and secondary sources. It is evaluated that there is important
role of local people and businessmen to enhance tourism activities.

ABSTRACT
This study is based on tourism sector and its impact on economic stability of country.
Chosen destination in this investigation is Sighisoara and it has instability in economic terms. So
information is collected from 30 respondents as primary sources through questionnaire and
secondary information for acquiring knowledge about it. There is positive impact on economic
growth through taxes, foreign currency reserve, etc. of Sighisoara with increase in tourism
business. It is evaluated that participation of local people residing at Sighisoara plays crucial role
and it is essential to promote tour operates to make sure about optimal use of resources and
proper planning regarding planning for transportation. Safety and security at Sighisoara are
considered by visitors before collecting it as visiting destination.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Overview of the Research
Tourism is considered as one of the world's leading and fastest growing industry which
has a huge impact on the overall economic condition of country. Tourism is also refers as the
major income source for many countries, thus it is also effective in developing opportunities for
people to support revitalise local economies. Sustainability is one of the most debated element of
tourist destinations, thus the prior motive of each tourism organisation is to attaining sustainable
growth within the market place. Romania is considering as the most essential tourist attraction,
the inhabited Citadel of Sighisoara. In current market, there is difference in demand of visitors as
per difference in their geographical region (Andra-Topârceanu and. et. al., 2017). With tourist,
there are some benefits to country as well as economic development of country, increase in
employment opportunities, increase in foreign exchange reserve, etc. but as well there are some
issues also such as improper use of resources, lack of education about sustainability of
environment to people, etc. which affects countries growth and development.
Background of the Research
Tourism is the most leading industry which has huge impact over developing the
financial stability of a country. Corruption is refers as an essential issue, which can be seen
everywhere in the country and as per the study 2018 was a large year on Romania because
individuals finally recognised through the developing tourism sector in Romania that as a
country is evolving at a faster rate than most of the other tourist attraction places. In the
comparison with other attractions or countries like Bulgaria and Hungary have a below rate of
GDP around 4 percent than Romania. The country has attaining exactly double annual change
GDP which exist around 7%. There is negative impact on growth and development of
Sighisoara, Romania because of tourism activities (Botezat, 2015). Hence it is important to
make strategies through which they can make positive impact on financial activities of country.
Rational of the Research
Importance of this study to understand role of visitors in improving condition of
organisations and countries in achieving benefits from this. In current market role of visitors are

important because they give improvement to currency exchange rate, so foreign currency reserve
is increasing with rapid speed. With this research, investigator is able to understand benefits if
business has to be open Sighisoara, Romania and benefits which they can drive from visitors.
With the help of this research, knowledge about tourism can how it affects growth of country can
be evaluated. Researcher is able to know about impact on financially unstable country
Sighisoara, Romania. It also provides knowledge about strategies which positive impact on

and there mindset. It is important to relate it with different aspects in order to get overall
development of country (Gaman and Răcășan, 2015). Tourism refers to group of activities
performed by different activities offered as accommodation, hospitality, retail shops,
transportation, amusement and entertainment activities, etc. These days people visit for different
purpose such as business trip, family outing, vacation tour, trekking, etc. So there is difference in
demand of consumers, with change in their trips. It is important to consider their demand in order
to make them best experience while touring.
There is requirement of different services to tourist such as transportation,
communication, accommodation, entertainment, etc. This makes trip best and relevant in current
market. Tourism activities creates business opportunities for country as well as people residing in
local geographical region. According to Kshitiz Thakur (2018), There is development of
economy of country through income generation, increment in GDP, generation of job
opportunities, etc. when there is development of country, then living standard of people also gets

so there is use of different tools and technique for successful completing of investigation.
Research methodology is the study which provides complete information about techniques. This
can be understood with the help of “Research Onion”.
Research philosophy- Research philosophy is the measure through which systematic
collection of information can be done by collecting information in appropriate and systematic
manner. There are three type of research philosophy i.e. pragmatist, interpretivist, positivist. In
this study, pragmatist study is used because this is the best way to analyse phenomenon through
which information is collected and analysed.
Research approach- Research approach provides information about plans and procedure
through which information is collected about systematic pursuing investigation for the purpose
of data collection, analysis and gathering of information (Stoian, 2018). There are two ways of
research approach i.e. inductive and deductive approach. Deductive method is best for this
research because this is the best way which makes it easy to understand detailed method to
collect and gather information for interpretation.
Research design- Research design is the structured format in which study is done.
Research design has to be done in best and relevant manner because this is the way through
which information has to be communicated to reader (Mahika, Rădulescu and Aluculesei, 2015).
There are three types of research design i.e. descriptive, exploratory, experimental. In this study,
descriptive is used. Under this method, complete information about conducting investigation can
be done. This makes clear understanding about ways and systematic method to study research
topic i.e. analysis of importance of tourism in Sighisoara, Romania.
Research method- There is requirement of some systematic way to conduct research.
There are two methods of research i.e. qualitative and quantitative method. Qualitative method
refers to way in which information is not collected under mathematical aspects. This provides
information about human behaviour and reason behind specific decision making. Hence it
answers of what as well as why. It makes easy to provide specific view about research topic with

analysis of various aspect. Advantage of this method is theta there is few restrictions which
makes it easy to understand about research topic. While disadvantage of this method is it is time
consuming.
While quantitative method refers to systematic investigation of research topic with the
help of statistical and mathematical format (Marin-Pantelescu, 2015). This assist in developing
changes which are specific and significant for analysing phenomenon with the help of statistical
model or theory. In this study, qualitative research method is used because this is the best way
for evaluating results which are collected.
Source of data- Research is the in- depth and systematic study of topic for providing
recommendations and conclusions over it. There are two methods through which information
about importance of tourism in Sighisoara, Romania can be collected i.e. primary and secondary
source.
Primary source refers to information which is collected from individuals through one to
one basis. This source assist in collecting new and fresh data from respondents to know their
views about importance of tourism in Sighisoara, Romania. There are different methods to
collect primary information i.e. questionnaire, personal interview, focus group, etc. In this
research, questionnaire is used. In this there are some set of questions related to topic which is
filled by respondents to inform about their opinion.
Secondary source of information is collected with the help of online sources, books,
journals, etc. This is the best way to know overall view about importance of tourism in
Sighisoara, Romania (Nicula and Spânu, 2017). This assist in making clear understanding with
considering current trend. Secondary information is collected by others, so it is important to
collect which is up to date and authentic.
Research sampling- Sampling is the way through which some respondents are selected
from the crowd because it is not possible to collect from whole population. There are two
methods of collecting information i.e. random and non random sampling. In this study, random
sampling is used in which there is equal possibilities of being selected from crowd. So
possibilities of partiality in gathered information is low (Stoian and Dejica, 2016). 30
respondents are selected for the purpose of sampling.
Research ethics- There are some ethical considerations which researcher kept in mind
while conducting research such as deception, confidentiality, risk of harm, etc. It is essential

because these are the ways through which false representation of information can not be done.
Respondents are aware about reasons behind collecting information , so possibilities of deceiving
candidates is low (Stoian, 2015). Health and safety aspects for candidates are considered while
interaction and collecting primary information from them.
Research limitation- There is limitation of budget for conducting research. There is
requirement of different resources such as internet connection, communication techniques,
stationary, etc. So some financial assistance is required by investigator for acquiring such
resources, so smooth and successful completion of project is possible. But die to lack of
planning, there is lack of financial assistance for researcher (Pop and Coros, 2016).
Research reliability and validity- This study is reliable and valid because secondary is
collected from authentic sources and respondents are aware about reason for collecting
information, so they give correct opinion.
Research budget- Budget for this investigation is 540£. but due to lack of sources of
funds, investigators has to use personal funds. This affects collection of data (Pop and
Georgescu, 2019).
