INTRODUCTION
Tourism is a relation period of an individual or group of individuals who plan to travel from
one place to another in order to explore the different parts of the world and also increase the
motivation of them. Tourism is very important as per the view of the country as it help them to
increases the business and also provide better job opportunities this also helps the citizens to
increase the infrastructure of the country. In this report there is a study which will help in
understanding the negative impacts of tourism on USA and UK.
NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF TOURISM IN USA
Tourism have grown a far better what it was earlier due to liberalization and globalisation
it helped to connect all the countries with one another so that it can increase the efficiency of the
economy. As tourism help USA in a very large aspect and help in developing the country very
much. But there is some negative aspects of tourism in USA(Saarinen, Rogerson and Hall, 2017).
Tourists are attracted to visit United states of America because of statue of liberty, Hollywood,
and many beaches which relax the tourists from all over the world but with the increase in the
revenues there are some hidden negatives impacts of tourism which USA have analysed in the
past few decades.
After the unmatched tourism parade the country started to grow rapidly and welcome all
the tourist warm heartedly to their country but due to the openness of the country it also
unknowingly invited the potential threat to the countries as some people also enter the country as
the normal people to damage the country with their terrorist activities. As there was a very
disastrous event which shocked the whole world when US was attached by terrorists and
destroys the twin towers of the world trade centre on 11 September which killed many people
and have destroys many lives. (Edgell, 2016)
Apart from terrorism tourism have also created an imbalance in the nature and the country
have also evaluated the deteriorate environment due to excess tourism in the country. It have
impacted the mount Everest due to global warming the glaciers are melting and the ice is melting
of the mountain near that area. The country have also analysed that the increase the number of

tourists in the country have also disturbed the natural habitats like the preserved national parks
and wildlife sanctuaries, the visitors of the parks do not respect the nature and the government of
USA is worried a is trying to stop the imbalances and increase the awareness in the tourists and
charging fines from them to conserve the natural habitats. Due to over population of the country
it is also very hazardous for the people of the USA to be healthy there as the air quality is also
degrading as the buildings are made and plants are cut to make new products which makes the
land infertile. .(Leslie, ed., 2016)
Global events are the part in which promote tourism in USA and the government have also
made many promises with many advertising to display them to increase the tourism. But as it
increase the revenue generation of the city it also degrades the city’s fear of not going to the
crowded places. This also increases stress and tension in the minds of people who are the citizens
of USA and will not support the mega events as an audience.
The tourism in USA have also impacted the social and culture of the country. Due to
increase in the tourism in the country as it have also impacted the culture of the country as every
tourist belongs to some different culture and they all are very much connected to it. This also
have exaggerate the culture which the country does not have and that is only done to attract the
tourist to the country like the party enthusiast culture of Vegas and the nice beaches and the night
walks of Hawaii. (Mejia and et.al., 2018)
NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF TOURISM ON UK
As England was the ruler of half of the world it also have many common allies which are
more interested to know about the United kingdom and there history by visiting the country. The
tourist who visit have a good impact on them and also increase the knowledge and experience
about the country, but they also pollute and negative impact the country in many different ways .
as UK is the country with the very old history and also had many kings and queens and they also
have left their precious belonging to the country which is preserved in the museums. The tourist
are very interest to learn about all the artefact which the British kings and queens had which also
attract them but the tourist unknowingly disturb the nature and also degrade the quality of the
castles and museums.
The country also has very large open lands which also increase the risks that the tourist can
impact that natural environment of the country and they can also increase the soil erosion and

also decrease the fertility of the lands making the country lands more prone to deforestation. And
this would also impact the natural habitats and also decrease the quality of the nature and
decrease the oxygen level in the country. (Moutinho and Vargas-Sanchez,eds., 2018)A survey of the
government also showed that in UK the waste accumulation by the tourist is around 45% of the
total waste dumped in the open who are visiting the country for a short period. Which have also
started to pollute the oceans and the beaches and the England are also very famous for the
oceanic nature and the government is also very much worried about the risk that it will have on
the marine life and also the people who are eating the sea foods and marine animals for proteins.
The increase in the tourism have also negatively impacted the social life of UK, as tourism
can also increase the risk to polluting the values, cultures and beliefs of the citizens of UK as
they are in direct contact with them. Tourism is also very negative as it also have decreased the
moral of many businesses which are having a very good business because of tourism sector and
per se government of UK have always tried to push the economy upward with the increase in the
tourism. And which will also increase the infrastructure and increase the market value but also
degrade the environmental ecosystem which will disturb the mental health and physical health of
the people in the country. The promotion of tourism have also increased a very high risk on the
citizens after the country witnessed many terrorist attacks killing the citizens of the country.
Which also discouraged the government and the citizens to promote tourism and increase the
security of the nation. (Medlik, ed., 2016)
The increase in tourism have also cause the rate of inflation to increase which makes the
value of the currency low and which increased the expenditure for livelihood. Due to high
tourism in the country the country always have the high demand in the market and which
increased the process of the products and services to buy it. Which also discourages the citizens
of UK to work in the country? The high tourism in UK have also developed the economy which
is dependent on tourism as some businesses are totally dependent on the tourism and if the
tourism rates decline it will directly impact the sales and the profits of the business and makes
the economy go slow and decline as well. (Mason, 2015)
The country had also encouraged the tourism in such extent that they started to be tourist
centric and they also keep the items which are not event bought by the local public and more for
the tourist as they help the small businesses to grow faster and increases the profit margin
effectively. Tourism also increase the induced impacts of the economy as they are very likely ant

tourist will spend their money in recreational activities to relax and enjoy and meanwhile the
country is getting benefited from them.
The country also have noticed the clear signs of environment Mental damages which have
occurred to the national parks which are preserved by the national forestry department of UK and
they also have impacted the ecological system of the parks killing many engendered species and
also disturbing the nature according to their convenience have also been a very negative aspect
for the country. (Peiró-Signes and et.al., 2015)
CONCLUSION
In this report there was a detailed information about the negative impacts of tourism on UK and
USA as how the country have to analyze the risk and what was the consequences of the negative
impacts which they had on the environment of the country which affected the lands, air pollution
it have also caused the pollution in the public as well as the oceans. The tourism had also
negatively impacted the countries economically and socially which had discouraged the citizens
to support the tourism as they had also suffered many losses due to high dependency of the
tourism businesses on the tourism.
