INTRODUCTION
Travel as well as tourism is rapidly leading sectors in present sophisticated market. This
is considered as the act of travelling to various locations for either business or pleasure intent
(Fyall 2019). The purpose of this report is to explain the key milestones into development of
travel and tourism industry. Moreover, identification of various elements of travel and tourism
sector as well as how they are interrelate to develop tourist experiences are also discussed in this
report.
TASK 1
P1 Discuss key milestones in the development of the travel and tourism industry and how they
have shaped the travel and tourism industry
The travel and tourism sector have changed in the recent years government of UK
provide the importance of the tourism sector and have introduced new polices over the year and
help in changing the face of the industry. Here are some factor which have changed the face of
the company in are explained in detail manner.
Development and tourism act 1969: To implement this act the main objective of travel
and tourism is to provide single voice for the consumer. In this act the organisation are
responsible for promoting as well as development of tourism with in the Britain (Scott 2019).
Along with this it also provide the financial support to the organisation who deals in travel and
tourisms sector.
Air passenger duty (APD) : Since 1992 operator offering the package holidays has
been subjected to the package . This act provide right to the customers to be fairly charged by the
companies.
Technological development: The technology have changed the face to doing business in
the recent years. As it help in improving the experience of the customer will travelling from one
place to another (Spalding and Parrett 2019). Since then it is invention of internet, technology
has developed because of the way we now use the internet to book online also developing
tourism with how simple it now is to book through the internet the travel abroad. Now a days

with the help of technology customers can book tickets and decide the travelling plan with their
phones and tablets.
Package holidays: Since recent years travel and tourism are have been changed and the
agent usually provide more services to the consumers for capturing large market share. Hence
this include accommodation in tents, transfer as well as return flights. In the 1960's package
holidays started to develop with some of them being sold and advertised by tour operators,
offering many people a chance to travel abroad. Since then it has been changed a lot more.
P2 Identify the different elements of the travel and tourism industry and explore how they
interrelate to create the tourist experience
Travel and tourism is considered as the dynamic as well as competitive sector which
needs the capability to adopt constantly to clients changing wants and requirements (Gao 2019).
There are various elements of respective industry such as accommodation, transport, attractions
and many others. Some of them are discussed below:
Accommodation: This is considered as the essential element of travel and tourism
sector. This elements includes hotels, guest house and others (Dioko 2019). The
accommodation can be marketed individually or by tour operator in package form. This
element is interrelated to develop the tourists experience, if they stay in good hotels,
guest houses etc. which provide all types of facilities effectively then their experience is
better. Like wise in case that hotel services is not good so they do not prefer to go their
again as they had a bad experiences.
Support services: This is also considered as the important element as this assists to enjoy
their stay within destination, suggest tour packages and describe about facilities that they
arrange in location. This particular element of travel and tourists industry is interrelated
to create tourists experiences, if tourists visit into different destination and they provides
various better facilities regarding transportation, places etc. and enjoy the trip then again
they want to visit as their experiences is better.
Travel agent: It is the elements that facilitates information to individuals upon several
destination, advices them of available holiday packages that suit its tastes as well as
budget and also prepare tourist travel plan (Lin 2019). Moreover,m they usually sell the
travel association products such as car rentals, currency exchange and others. This

CONCLUSION
As per the above report, it has been concluded that travel and tourism industry is
becoming competitive day by day due to continuous development in their product or services.
Also, this assists them to shape the respective sectors effectively and efficiently. Moreover, there
are various elements such as accommodation, travel agent and others which aids in developing
better customer experiences.
