Introduction
In the introductory part, Job fairs networking event refers to hiring the potential managers
and hiring the manager based on skills and competency. Recently, I went to the event Tech
Talent day who actively worked with Vancouver workforce. The event was about 14 days from
11 July to 27 august and I have attended on 11 July. The name of the event was “Tech Talent
Day” in Vancouver, which was held in 181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver, BC, Canada. This
event was for the developers, data analysts and tech professional. As am a tech professional,
this is my dream job and wants to work with the top tech companies. The main objective to
attend this event is to meet the recruiters and best technical companies from Vancouver. (Tech
Talent day, 2019). The ticket prices of event were $7.50-$15. This event is for the persons who
are looking for a change and new path and as am not satisfied with my current job that is why I
have decided to attend this event. The timing of this event was 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM (PDT) on 11
July 2019. The organizers or speakers of this event were Shelly Williams, Rupa Mother, and Jim
Pagiamtzis. The major reason or aim to attend this event, it is a great place to begin my career
path. This event gives me guidance and opportunities for my future. What I most in this event,
they were helping the disabled and immigrants people to get new job opportunities. The main
reason to attending this event, Apple was also participating in this event and working with Apple
is my dream job as Tim cook is my idol (Tech Talent day, 2019).

Set up of the event:
When I reach the location, I quickly registered and observed the set-up of the event.
There were slideshows and video presentations of the company’s policies for job opportunities’.
On the other side of the event, there was a cafeteria, which includes drinks and food. Lightning
of the event was dim which creating problem for some candidates. When I move ahead, I saw
volunteers providing speakers and giving a warm welcome to the candidate. There were many
exhibitors in the event such as Apple, Royal Bank of Canada and CIBC. There were so many
stalls at the venue but my concentration was on the recruiters. Organizers assigned different
volunteers for different areas such as some of them welcoming the candidates and some of the
helping the candidates in directions. There of a bunch of speakers in the event, this was easy to
communicate. When I move ahead, I observed that recruiters were taking the resume and taking
the interview of the candidate on site. The main thing that attracted me in the event there were
co-workers who are alumni helping the candidates during the event (Bogaert, 2014).
The recruiters were providing the brochures and business cards to the candidates with the
motive to provide the contact and information details of the company.
Networking with people
I have talked with many government agencies, potential recruiters, business coaches,
training institutions, and resume experts. I have talked with many international companies and
potential businessperson in the event. I have shared my current jobs experience with the
professional people and HR recruiters. I have interacted with the Youth and new graduates as
they also share their experiences. I have learned from business coaches that how to get on the
right path and get success from the jobs. I have met people from different areas and fields.
Through the meet and talk, I have realized it increases my confidence and communication skills.
As the main objective of Tech Talent Day event is to pick the best participant from the greater
Vancouver area (Grayson, 2019).

Strategy
Communication plan is one of the strategies I have used while attending Tech Talent Day
and have started a conversation with the right contacts. I have communicated with fellow job
seekers to know about recruiting strategies and styles. During the event, I have met with many
new peoples to know about the different companies and job leads. According to my personal,
experience, the good sources for networking at the event of Tech Talent Day is professional
organizations and employment agencies. Follow up with key recruiters is also a major strategy
that I have used while attending Tech Talent Day. This strategy saves a lot of time because I
have only concentrated on some companies not all the companies in the event. (Lekhutile, 2016).
My Experience:
The job fair event of Tech Talent Day gives me a vast knowledge of different companies in
the business world. Job fair increases my tech-knowledge and made opportunities’ to get a job in
a Tech industry. I have learned about new organizations in the technology world. Job fair creates
network opportunities for me to get a good job. Communication with international companies
increases my personal and professional growth. There are certain things that could have done
better in the Tech Talent Day, such as there was less no of volunteers in the event due to this
many candidates could not ask the queries in the session. Communication problem I have noticed
between the recruiters and candidate due to the heavy crowd. The event must implement an
efficient facility that can make better communication between the speakers and candidates
( Pavlou, 2019).
Self-discovery:
I have learned from the job fair event that I have lacked the communication skill while
talking with the professional people. By attending the job fair event, I have an interest in the
Tech industry. As I prepared for Apple, it helps me to know more about the organization. It made
me realize that I have good interaction skills. There was a bunch of people at the event especially
the 18-25 age groups. People mainly was taking selfies in their mobile phones and coming live
on social media. Some of the people were not attentive and wasting time in gossiping. Other
people were very enthusiastic and confidently asking the queries with the speaker. Candidates
were taking part in various activities and asking questions with recruiters (Ramachandran, 2010).

Business cards
I have realized that the business card is the best method in promotion of the company during
the job fair event. I have gathered to collect business cards for future preferences. During the
event, I have handout the 20 business cards from the potential recruiters. Business cards of
different companies such as the Royal Bank of Canada, CIBC and Apple. I have distributed the
business cards with my fellow candidate. A business card helps me to contact the company in the
future because material information about the company is written on the business card. I have
circulated the business cards, especially of tech companies. I have observed that business cards
are wasted and throwing away by the candidate during the event (Spencer).
Case-study
When I was in the event and during the sessions, I have asked the question with the speaker
about the employee relationship with the company (Apple) but he replied in misbehave and in
the wrong manner and ignored me. It really discomforts me at that time but other speakers and
volunteers supported me and suspended the speaker for his misbehavior. Others people or
speakers supported me because I have asked the genuine question and in a very polite manner.
Others members come to me and said very kind words. The peoples in the event were supportive
and kind (Staff Writer, 2018).
Next step:
This Tech Talent Day job fair event, I will try to get my dream job in Apple and further other
tech companies. I will keep myself well organized and will keep track of all potential job leads.
After attending the Tech Talent Day I will follow-up with the recruiters and will match the skills
with their requirements. I will maintain my connections with potential recruiters, which I have
met in the event. I will work on my communication and interviewing skills. I will prepare myself
to get a job in the Tech industry. I will attend the session of personal growth to improve my
communication skills. This event guides me that I can pursue jobs in the BOP sector. Major step
after attending the job fair event look through the business cards of different companies (Tech
Talent day, 2019)

Conclusion
In conclusion, that Job fair event of Vancouver was a turning point for my life as it guides
my new path in life. This event improves the future workforce of different corporations. This
event guided me in the right direction. I have attended the event for the Apple Corporation and I
was chosen for a personal interview. Networking events help people to explore new
opportunities and maintain new relations. This event really helped to maintain potential relations
with the different major recruiters. This event improves my communication skills while
communicating with other peoples. I am looking forward to attending future events of
networking because it gives me personal growth. These networking events help candidates to get
a job in a different field. Networking events are helped the person to know his personal skills and
capability. I will definitely attend the upcoming networking events (Tech Talent day, 2019).
