In the modern tourism world, there is a requirement of sustainable business practices for
the welfare of whole economy. It is important for a business to perform sustainable and
responsible tourism activities for the welfare of whole environment (Berjozkina and Melanthiou,
2021). In the recent times, most of the developed countries focus on development of sustainable
tourism practices in order to perform desired environment related practices. In this report major
dimensions of sustainable tourism practices are explained along with principles of tourism
development. In this project sustainability development is taken into consideration for long term
development of the tourism sector in the economy. This project also includes a brief explanation
social, cultural and environmental factor that are essential for tourism development. In this report
example of Madagascar tourism destination is included which is a major tourism country
situated in East Africa. The main tourism destinations in Madagascar are Isalo national park,
Avenida de los Baobabs and Ranomafana national park. The country has developed
sustainable tourism by developing major practices related to growth of the country which is also
helpful in conservation of bio-diversity of the country.

increased. The government of UK decided to bring sustainable tourism policies in 1980s to
develop ethical tourism practices. Madagascar receives over 1.7 million tourists per year, the
majority of whom come from the United States and Canada. Earnings from tourism amount to
more than $1.7 billion US dollars per year. It is estimated that up to 80% of all visitors to the
country come to do E co-tourism related activities.
