INTRODUCTION
This report examine and explore about the interrelation of tourism and urban
transformation in Pairs. In all Europe this has been the top destination for the tourist people and
they come from all across the world (Bohn, 2019). This research was done by Tim Freytag and
Michael Bauder which have done keen research on tourism sector of Europe. There have been
urban mobility in Paris as most of the people travel with cycle and it is one of the most use mode
of transportation by people. Along with this Airbnb has been discusses in this report as it has
major impact on the residential neighbourhood.
Main body:
It has been analysed that European tourism have experienced the rapid growth and in the
recent years. As this helped the nation to grow and expand the business of tourism in well define
manner. There are major tourist spots in the country such as Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre-Dame,
Sacre Coeur, Champs Elysees. Nation is using GPS tracking devices to handle the crow in peak
days as there are million of tourist who come to visit the country. As this is consider as useful
method for the Paris because it reduces risk of theft and uncertainty for tourist and local people
(Damayanti and Ruhanen, 2019).
The government is taking effectively steps in order to increase the tourist from all over
the place as they have made artificial beaches along the bank of Seine however this was changed
permanently into car free area for local people. There are many cafe and parks opened for the
tourist and it is the most important place to the tourist to refresh and rest. Mostly on the
weekends these places are filled with people as there are more people who come to spend quality
time friends and family. For the tourist Airbnb have transformed the way of doing business.
Most of the lodging facilities which is provided by the Airbnb are the house apartment and the
estimated occupancy of these apartment are around 25%. This have created a major impact on
the local people as they feel uncomfortable from there neighbourhood.
Due to excess tourist in the country this lead towards protest from the local resident and
there is a famous slogan which says that tourist are not welcome. As the government should take
effective measure in order to stop the overcrowding. There are some positive points in related to
to this point as this also bring job opportunity for the local people and a stable sources of income
for the people. Along with this tourism industry have able to increase the economy of the country

and plays a major role in the development of the company. Further this paper focus on urban
transformation and how the economy of the country depends upon the tourist.
The recent study shows that in 2015 there were around 22.2 million visitors and the
number have been increased in the recent years (Degarege and Lovelock 2019). The another
strong point of this tourist place is mobility practises as well as walking have become trend in the
country. With the major tourist area due to crowd tourist prefer to walk and use cycle as mode of
transportation. Walking is consider as well established tourist practise which is strongly
associated with experience the city from closely. The another important mode of transportation is
metro as it enables the visitor to move rapidly from one part of the city to another. But this can
be expensive mode of transportation for many tourist as they prefer cycling for the convenience.
Due to growing number of visitors in Paris the they have tended to increase the third
mode of transportation which is known as Velib’ bike-sharing system . Velib’ is owned by the
city of Paris and operated by the JCDecaux company. Velib’ was launched in 2007 and since it
has grown rapidly and have become one of the most successful start up of Paris. As the
government also support this kind of business because they are beneficial for the environment.
These vehicle are electric and produce less carbon dioxide as compare to car. As from the paper
it has been analyse that Airbnb as contributed to the urban tourism along with bike sharing had
made country tourism more effective.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that this research is exploratory and provide
the insight regarding the interconnection of change in the urban transformation. Along with this,
research paper help in finding the latest trend present in tourism sector as GPS help in tracking
the tourist and Airbnb help traveller to get accommodation and lodging facilities. At last the
mobility have become the emerging trend in the country as people prefer cycling rather than car
for visiting places.
