Introduction
• ‘World heritage site’ is defined as a
“structure that can be natural or man
made that requires a special
protection as all the heritages are
unique landmark that presents the
geographical and historical image of
the place” (Chen and et. al., 2018).

What do you understand by ‘World Heritage Site’?
• ‘World heritage site’ are ancient and historical in nature that can be a historical
structure, desert, forest, lake, monument, mountains which are the evidence of the
intellectual history of the country.
Cultural heritage sites
• It includes the various historic building, books, landscapes, building and many
others which are the legacy of group or society which is brought forward from the
past generations.
Natural heritage sites
• It is related to natural areas as the nature is the most precious gift to the humans
and such places are also essential to be recognized in the world.

Which is your chosen World
Heritage Site and why?
• The chosen heritage for the project is
‘Tower of London’ which has a richer
and complex history. This heritage plays
a remarkable role in the English history
and it was founded in the end of 1066. It
served the many purposes in the country
such as housing the crown jewels and for
holding the prisoners.

Tower of London
• This place is selected as a ‘World Heritage Site’ because it is one of the
most famous castle which has been famous for its royal palace, prison,
zoo and armoury. It was built as a symbol of Norman Power which
represents the significance of the mid-11th century of England. It plays an
iconic role in reflecting the last military conquest of England. It is said to
be the best example of the 11th century on Norman military architecture
(Ripp and Rodwell, 2018).

Conclusion
• It can be concluded from the above report that Heritage is defined as the
legacy from the past and people live with it which is passed on to future
generations. There are various heritage sites such as Bath, Liverpool,
Stonehenge, Jurassic Coast, Palace of Westminster, St.Kilda and many
others and they require a special protection as all the heritages are
important and a unique landmark that presents the geographical and
historical image of the place. The report also explained about the chosen
heritage that is Tower of London.
