Introduction
Total quality Management is an essential part of an organization and with the increasing
competition in the business environment, the services which have to be provided by the
organization needs to be of good quality (Oakland, 2014). Hence, the Japanese came out with
various quality control and continuous improvement tools so that the efficiency of their
businesses could be increased. The given report will be discussing the case of Toyota, the
multinational car manufacturing company and its use of the Kaizen tool.

About the tool
The Kaizen tool is largely applied by the Toyota tool. The Kaizen is a name for the
concept of continuous improvement. It is a philosophy which helps in ensuring that the
maximum quality is maintained in the business and the waste generation is minimized or rather
eliminated. The minimum waste and continuous improvement aspect is not only applied in terms
of the products but also in terms of the work processes. The Kaizen improvements if applied,
can help the business to achieve maximum profitability. According to Shimizu (2000), there are
a certain well defined standards of procedures which must be applied and assist the employees to
identify problems and find the solutions for the same.
Why it has been employed
The Kaizen ideology forms an essential aspect in the functioning of the Toyota Company
