From the module there is learning which is focussed mainly on two types of management
approaches that includes the way contemporary and traditional approaches have shaped the
present working in organisations.
Managers in the present scenario are learning and working towards using the thinking. I have
learnt about the various management theories that have advanced the present and future working
in organisations. Such as there is rational goal model that is responsible for analysing the way
there can be improvement in the productivity more efficiently and further targets can be met up.
The overall learning is focussed on the way contemporary organisational structures are
performing their functions. On the other hand in case of modern or the contemporary style of
management the main emphasis is put on the reduce the overall management layers & ease in the
process of sharing of information. There is skill and personnel development that is taking place
across departments. In present scenario as per the changing contemporary requirements of
organisations the main emphasises laid on having proper organisation processes, system of
motivation, coordination of efforts and a coherent pattern of activities that is build up in long run.
Oi have developed detailed overview of the mintzberg learning aspects that isto ensure that
organisation is basically serving its purpose and able to maintain stability in the operations. Iot
was a traditional approach but in the present scenario as per the application of modern and
contemporary approaches of management the managers in organisation are having their complete
focus on operation the organisation with a proper value system.
The scientific management theory is now based on work measurement, bonus system that is
required to be associated with rational goal model of management. The traditional approach of
management by Taylor has been focussed on achievement of higher productivity and
profitability in long run. In this the learning is based on the way internal process model is applied
to achieve stability and organisational control is done by means of procedures, rules and
documentation. Whereas now, in the context of modern management the organisations are
moving their focus on having a open system model. The open system model is constructively
build up on two approaches together, it includes the way organisation is made up of sub systems
and is part of wider environment or the system. There is also learning about the socio technical
system that is combination of technical and the social systems. In the contemporary way of
organisation learning there is focus on having technical system which includes various
