Introduction
 The following presentation is about the topic Do children
benefit from growing up in a traditional family structure.
There is discussion about the impact upon children if they
are living in traditional family (Amagir, and et.al.
(2018)). It explains the way by which measurement can
be done for growing up in a traditional family is
beneficial or not.

How can we measure if growing up in a
traditional family is beneficial
 The changes in family structure are very important for any children. Some of the changes include
exit of a parent from household Chmielewski, and Kucker, 2020). The family instability is different
according to the type of outcome. Family is known as universal social institution as well as
fundamental social unit which is created by marriage, blood or adoption.

 It is considered that existence of family is important to live in a society. There is change in
family system and it affects children mentally. According to the views of Wilcox, it can be
stated that married parents are able to provide a better life to children than non married ones.
 Also, in terms of economic indicators, it is evaluated that parents which live together are
able to provide more value and moral ethics to their children. It is also concluded that most
of the married parents in state are better predictor of economic health than the racial
composition.
 It is analysed from different cases that when boys are raised in traditional family, they have
more ethics and values among them. In modern families, there are more cases of divorce and
separation (Chrisman, Devaraj, and Patel, (2017)). These incidents affects mental health of
children. They do not feel free to manage their wellbeing if parents are fighting.

What does the research suggest
 Traditional families are an economic unit and
these are involved in consumption and production
unit. There are different members of family who
are employed in family occupation (Gillies,
Edwards, and Horsley, (2017)). It is considered
that modern families are not economic. In these
families, production, consumption and
distribution are not developed in home.

 Child development theories are those which emphasise upon the way in which children change grow according to the
childhood. These factors are associated with social, emotional, cognitive and growth. Child development occurs at
different levels in which emotional as well as mental health of child is taken care (Timshel, Montgomery, Dalgaard,
2017). As per the Freud’s development theory, it is concluded that conflicts which occur in series of stages depends upon
different areas of body. At these stages child encounters conflicts which play an important role in the course of
development.
 If there is failure of resolving the conflict at particular stage, then it can result in fixation which can have impact on adult
behaviour. When traditional families are present then they are able to provide better development for children. This helps
to manage the ability to have good health and wellbeing. It is important to manage the way in which people are treated
within families. It helps to nurture the growth and development of children. The mental health of children is directly
proportional to the child development.

What are the methodological limitations
of family research in the context of child
development
 The environmental factors as well as life experiences
affects human development, behaviour and health. This
can have impact upon physiological processes. It is also
associated with biological stress response system
(Patterson, 2017). There is positive as well as negative
impact upon children of the family. It is concluded that
biological stress system is very important for life. It is
associated with chronic or repeated elevation effect.

 There are long term effects of early life adversity that is based upon basal cortisol level
within children. There is deprived care which impacts upon growth of children.
Elevated cortisol levels are evident at early stages of children. There are various
associations between life experiences and biological measures which are provided
challenges by different biological systems. These families will provide good manner
in which families are able to rise their kid or children with good and effective belief.
 It is concluded that adopted children face identity confusion, at the time of adolescence
(Martínez, and et.al, 2019). Good relationship among parent’s helps the child to grow
and develop in a more prominent manner. It helps to manage the wellbeing and health
of children more effectively. there are some emotions such as grief, guilt as well as
denial that creates difference between children. It is duty and responsibility of families
to provide their children better ways to life.

What are the other factors that might
shape child development
 There are some of the factors which are associated
with child development (Jaskiewicz, and et.al, 2017).
In a traditional family there are some factors which
affects their mental health. There is need to manage
child development in order to provide them a good
life. In case of this family, it is seen that they raise
their children as the biggest opportunity which can be
used as major responsibility they can feel for their
loved one.

Conclusion
 From the above discussion, it can be concluded that traditional families can help to
manage a children’s growth and development in a more efficient manner than
modern families. There is need to manage the efficient manner in which children
are provided with effective care and love (Gunter and Gunter, 2019)). Care
provided to children in early stage is one which develops and shapes their
personality as younger individuals.
