Introduction
Training is usually driven by the needs of a workplace. There are numerous forces that
identify the overall process of working and learning undergoing within an organization. These
forces include sustainability, globalization, increased value placed on the intangible assets and
human capital., providing focus on link to the organizational strategy, attracting as well as
retaining talent, customer quality and service emphasis, changing demographics as well s
diversity of workplace and many more (Noe & Winker, 2012). Among all the forces a particular
force has been chosen which is most significant in my workplace is high performance models of
work systems. This assignment further discusses regarding the field that should be provided
importance in the development of training and development program.
Discussion
Force that is most significant in my workplace and why
Working and learning is usually influenced by numerous forces, every force has its own
impact on the concept of working as well as learning. Some factors influence employees to work
in an effective manner and fulfill the organizational as well as personal goals whereas the same
force might provide an opportunity to employees who do not want to work hard. An example of
this includes the implementation of new technology includes usage of social media in the
workplace, this would allow the hard working employees to keep their concentration on work
because apart from their busy schedule they can get some time off and surf some social media
platforms (Noe & Winker, 2012). Unlike this, an employee might use this as an opportunity of
using social media for long period of time and not work at all. This concept provides refreshment
to an employee whereas makes another employee least productive.
Considering the pros and cons of every force, a force that has been most significant in my
present workplace includes the high performance models of work systems. This is the most
significant because it has helped the employees acquiring various skills present in the workplace
to assemble together and provide a service. This has increased the innovation power of the entire
organization. Cross training which falls under this force has helped providing training to the
employees in a huge range of skills; this is done so that they are capable of filling any roles that

teams that rely completely on technology for interacting and completing the project provided to
them. This force is most significant in my workplace because it helps us to choose new team
members or new employees. We receive formal feedback on the basis of our performances and
we are also involved in the process of performance improvement. Any kind of ongoing training
is emphasized as well as rewarded and the company performance is linked with the
compensation and rewards. Work processes encourage the overall process provide maximum
flexibility as well as interaction among us.
Area to be focused for the development of training and development program
The development of training and development program consist of various areas, every
area has its own impact on the overall program and they need importance on the basis of their
importance. The area that needs more focus includes the involvement of employees. The sole
reason of developing a training and development program is to improve the productivity of an
employee and allow them to do the activities that are not expertise by them (Noe & Winker,
2012). Suppose some of the employees under the department of management are not expertise in
project management, training and development program can be planned as well as implemented
in order to increase their expertise and help them to learn regarding project management. This
would increase the strength of employees who can perform the management of a specific project
and it would consume less time to look for a project manager. Similarly the involvement of
employees in the development of a training and development program is important. The reason
of the development of this program must be conveyed to the employees and they must be
convinced in order to participate in the program.

This area is important to choose because most of the employees leave their job because
they do not have any idea regarding what are they supposed to do the job, hence training and
development program would help them to give a detailed idea regarding the organization,
