Training and Development
Abstract
The current quantitative research highlighted the aspect of training and development in an
organisation. In order to conduct this research, the research provided proper and literature based
outline in the introduction section. Along with this, the four research questions were also
addressed in this section in order to develop the goal of further research work. On the other hand,
after this section, the methods and materials were significantly portrayed this highlighted the
significance of statistical methods. SPSS method with Quantitative analysis were properly
mentioned and discussed in this section. Development and training play key role in the
performance of an employee. Along with the self-development approach, it is effective for
enhancing the overall performance of an organisation. After this, in the result section SPSS
statistical analysis with T-test, Anova and chi-square test had been conducted. Each result was
analysed after each section. After that, proper discussion and conclusion of the results were
provided with thorough analysis of the issue.
Introduction
Training plays a significant role in this competitive business world in a challenging and
competent format. Apart from the quality of the work life, training provides significant progress
of organisational development. As opined by Bell et al. (2017), both quantitative and qualitative
advancement can be achieved with the help of proper training and development. Several specific
skills as well as knowledge, values, attitudes and behaviour are more emphasised with the help
of training in comparison with physical enhancement. Sung & Choi (2014) argued that, the
employees can understand the need of organisation and value these needs. Along with this, their
concern level also increases due to proper training and development of the employees. Tahir et

al. (2014) stated that, proper training and development enhance overall progress of an
organisation in order to achieve their mission, mission, objectives and goals. As for this reason,
any training is provided with a specific goals and objectives in the organisation. Sundstrom et al.
(2016) supported that the organisational motives can be effectively satisfied by proper training
plan that promotes constructive development of the organisation. However, Falola, Osibanjo &
Ojo (2014) commented that training is not only important for enhancing organisational
performances, but also this is effective to enhance individual's proficiency. As influenced by
Dodge & Mazerolle (2015), uplifting of morale and shifting of values and attitudes are
incorporated with the help of training. Thus, in the current research, four-research question have
been developed which are addressing four variables such as training, team working, job
performance and won performance.
Methods and materials
The research proceeds with the method of collecting data mainly from primary sources. Thus, it
can be clearly stated the research makes use of quantitative data that is further evaluated with
survey. The process of survey is undertaken by taking into account the answer of 173 research
participants that have been chosen by keeping in mind the requirements of the research. The
small sample size chosen has been kept small in order to save time and concentrating on the
bigger aspects of research that can work on concentrating on analysing and finding the results.
Furthermore, the research made use of statistics derived from the use of primary quantitative data
that has been further analysedwith statistical tool SPSS. The perception of the research
participants were gathered with close ended questions (Martyn Chamberlain, Hillier &

In the current section, the researcher has conducted the statistical analysis of results in order to
obtain proper outcome. Along with this, the researcher has also discussed about the
interconnection between performance with team working, cooperative task delivery and training.
As for this reason, both graphical as well as statistical methods have been incorporated in order
to conduct such research.

The conducted one sample T test is denoting that the mean result in case of dependent variable is
3.9333 whereas in case of independent variable is 3.1333. It can be stated that, the positive to T
value the mean outcome of the training is greater in comparison with hypothesised value. Along
with this, the obtained two-tailed value is corresponding to the statistics of the test. As there is
one variable are taken in this process, the degree of freedom is (45-1==44). On the contrary, the
T statistics is calculated by the division of mean difference and standard error. Thus, it can be
stated that, there is a significant difference has been noticed between the training and
performances of the employees.

The current Anova tests is showing that the p value is also higher than 0.05. Thus, the result is
statistically insignificant. On the other hand, the value of standard deviation is two times lower
than the mean value, which is providing the status of statistical data. As for this reason,
continuous improvement is required in the field of the training, both job and self-performance of
the people. In this way, the statistically insignificant data is showing proper method for enhanced
performances of employees and job. Thus, proper strategy is required from enhancing the
training related development in order to enhance performances. The two sided p value
(significant values) are showing that those are greater than 0.05. Thus, the obtained result is
statistically insignificant. As for this reason, it can be stated that, due to the insignificant values,
lack of the current strategies of training can be noticed in an organisation. However, this value is
also showing that, the null hypothesis of proper training can be eradicated and the proper result
and interpretation of the training needs can be established. The dependence of performance on
the training can be noticed in the organisations.

The above stated one sample T test is showing that the mean result in case of dependent variable

Figure 5: Correlation test

Analysis:
Statistically significant mean has been achieved at the end of this Anova test in which the
insignificant value of 0.544 (p= .544). The result is statistically insignificant as the p value is
greater than 0.05. As for this reason, the result is inappropriately satisfying the hypothesis.
Therefore, it can be assumed that, the effort of training in the organisation is not effective for
enhancing the performance of the employees. Along with this, it is also effective for enhancing
the organisational outcome. On the other hand, the mean is greater than twice of the standard
error which is showing that, training is required more in order to enhance the performances. This
test is also showing the aspect of performance is independently not enhanced without training
and team working. This interpretation can be obtained from the obtain p values. As the p values
