data has been gathered. Information that have been gathered by conducting questionnaire as a
primary data, can help scholar in knowing importance of training and development by which
Marriott can manage talent. Some questions related to the topic have been asked from 30
employees of Marriott that shows:
Theme 1: Yes, there is awareness relating to the concept of training and development.

Interpretation: On the basis of above data it can be said that having awareness regarding training
and development among employees play a vital role. Before making a plan and developing
strategies to provide training to employees, employees require having basic knowledge about it.
So, in this regard, it is stated that majority of employees or 8 employees of Marriott have
knowledge regarding training and development. In addition, they also said that they know that
training can help them out in increasing their skills and reducing errors. It is directly proportional
with their management. On the other hand, 7 employees said that they do not have detailed
knowledge and awareness regarding this training and development. They also said that do not
know the link between talent management and training to employees. But overall, it can be said
that Marriott is trying hard for making their employees able to have knowledge about all basic
terms and requires focusing the more abut this.

employees or majority said that they strongly believe that training and development is one of the
main key and essential for hotel to use. They also said that training improves performance of
employees and improved performance leads to productivity, sales, profit, brand image and

companies and hotel is not an easy task as they have to face several problems. In the context of
problems, 2 employees said that some employees resists to training. 2 other employees said that
according to them lack of interest of some employees of taking training and taking active
participation in training and development program is the main barrier of successful of training.
Majority of employees or 9 employees of Marriott believes that different employees have
different learning habits and due to this manager or HR face problem in selecting appropriate
way and making this training successful. Rest of employees also said that training may increase
overall cost of the hotel and it is other main barrier.
Theme 6: Some suggestions for the better providing of the training and development within
the business.
Interpretation: In this open-ended question all selected or target employees were given equal
and fair chance of sharing their views. They suggested and recommended different techniques
and ways by which Marriott can provide training to their employees in an effective manner and
can meet their goals. In this context, some employees suggested that Marriott should focus on the
board or job training. By providing training at the time of recruitment or just after recruiting
employees, company can reduce their errors at initial stage. It can protect hotel against poor
quality of services that can increase customers satisfaction rate. Other employees suggested that
hotel should provide game faced training. It can increase interest of employees as it was the main
problem that their hotel face while providing training to employees. It can increase interest and
can also increase participation rate.

On the basis of discussion some main results can be found and it can said that training
and development plays a vital role in managing people within organization. Talent management
process starts with effective recruitment and ends with retention of employees. On the basis of
above discussion it is stated that training and development is the key that can help hotel in
retaining employees, motivating them and making them able in improving their performance.
When employees improve their performance and reduce errors then it boosts their confidence,

help Marriott in managing skilled workforce and taking competitive advantages.

2018). This increasing rate of customers satisfaction leads to employees satisfaction, improved
confidence and talent management. Retention of employees is the main key of success of
company, improved image in the market and better people management. It is also found and got
that mentoring, role play and lectures are some ways of providing training. By making use of
all of these strategies and ways, Marriott and other hotels in this industry can manage and
increase staff retention rate. Lectures and role-play increase skills of employees and it helps them
out in increasing overall productivity by reducing errors in their tasks. So, it can be said that in
this regard that training is vital and must for hotels if they want to take competitive advantages
and increase employees satisfaction.

while making plan about using appropriate ways of training to employees. One of the main issue
that they face in providing training is different learning habits. By employing different
cultures, age and gender of employees company face some problems because all these employees

known by which Marriott hotel can make their training success and manage talent is games
training. On the basis of issues that hotel face, this way of training is suggested. Games training
can solve problems of different learning habits of employees and lack of interest. So, overall it is
found that by making use of effective way of training company can meet goal of managing
talent.

P6 Reflection on effectiveness of study
This study increased my knowledge to the great extent. It increased my knowledge about
training and development as well as ways of conducting research. I feel that this study can help
me out in conducting research in the future on related topics and other topics as well. I can say
that this study increased my research and development skills. For making research study
successful, researcher requires identifying appropriate sources for gathering effective
information. This research and development skill can help me out in the future in collecting
information related to the project and can also help me out in accomplishing goals. I came to
know about importance of training and development that I never knew before. With the help of
this study I got to know that training to employees can provide several benefits to company in
increasing sales, productivity, customers satisfaction and improving image. By conducting this
study I learned about different ways by which hotels and companies can provide training to their
employees. Before that I had no knowledge about all these ways of training such as lectures,
role-play, game training and others. In the future I can make use of all these ways and can
increase my own and others knowledge. As per the different behaviours and learning habits of
employees, ways of training can be used. I Also knew that game training can solve all problems
that organizations face while providing training such as lack of interest, resistance by employees
and others.
In addition, I also came to know about reasons of providing training by companies to
employees. I came to know that by making use of effective strategy and ways of training,
companies can educate their employees about the latest trends of the market. They can increase
staff retention rate and can also improve their level of business. For gathering all this information
it is important of having knowledge about conducting questionnaire. It increased my

communication skills and I believe that in the future I can interact with different behaviours of
people. An effective oral communication skill improves our relation with others. By conducting
this study I knew the importance and reasons of managing people by companies of making use of
effective training strategies or ways. So, overall it is found that by making use of effective way
of training company can meet goal of managing talent. It can solve problems that occur in the
path of success. So, overall I can say that this study helped me out to the great extent and
increased several skills.
P7 Alternative research methodology that can be considered for the study
This research study is being completed with appropriate research styles, approaches,
philosophies. For accomplishing goals, researcher targeted 30 employees of Marriott and by
gathering primary data, the main aim of knowing importance and ways of training in people
management is being known. But some alternatives could be used for better outcomes. It is
believed that if researcher had used quantitative research rather than qualitative and developing
SPSS, it would have known about effectiveness of training by knowing majority of numbers
(Goertzen, 2017). Quantitative and SPSS give numerical data and this numerical data could have
helped scholar in knowing different thinking of people but with the help of mean, mode and
media it had known the best and final result.
Researcher could have targeted more people as it is believed that by targeting more
people, better results can be gathered. It helps in knowing accurate answers and reasons as why
people think and what they think. Due to Covid-19 and climate change situations, questionnaire
is conducted online but if it had been conducted face to face then better results could have been
gathered. Face to face questionnaire provides all answers to researcher in better manner, and they
can know their behaviours. It can also improve their relation when they meet face to face and
communicate with them. So, overall it can be said that by making use of these alternatives also,
better results could have been gathered. Researcher can know about reasons and importance of
training and development in better people management. It can also help out in selecting
appropriate ways of providing training and meeting the main aim (Vasileiou and et.al., 2018).

CONCLUSION
It has been summarized from the above study that training and development is the main
key and main function of managing people within organization. It provides several benefits to
companies and help them out in meeting their pre-determined objectives. This study has also
discussed some ways and strategies by which hotel can increase knowledge and provide effective
training to their employees. Some strategies that this present study has shown include:
Conducting lectures, allotting roles or role-play etc. This present research study has also shown
reasons of performing or conducting all steps of research methodology in an effective and
systematic manner. Further, it has discussed some problems that companies face while selecting
ways of training and while providing training such as: lack of interests in employees that leads
poor participation, different learning habits because of different behaviours. Literature review
also plays a vital role in providing information and by developing literature, with the help of
views of authors, goals can be accomplished. It has recommended some better ways of
improving training and development process by which hotel can effectively manage skilled
workforces and improve image in the market. Some ways that have been discussed and
suggested for making better use of training and making training and development successful is:
games training, on the job training etc.
RECOMMENDATION
On the basis of above discussion and analysis some areas have been known that should
be focused by company. By focusing on all areas in which it is lacking behind, can accomplish
goals and manage people. It can be suggested to Marriott hotel that it should focus on job
rotation because employees can perform only some functions that are being allotted to them and
as per their comfort zone. For making employees able by which they can perform any type of
work independently, it is important to rotate jobs and allotting works. It creates some problems
for them initially but gradually they become able and it boosts their confidence. They are more
