and financial services. Employee retention is an ability of company to sustain staff members. It
helps in develop the positive impact on long time sustainability of employees. Training and
development enhance the skills and motivate employees which help them to retain at workplace
for long period of time.

helps the staff members at workplace too develop the new skills and also enhance their
knowledge. It is an area that related with organisational activities aimed at making the
organisational performance in a better manner. This is necessary for company that wants to take
the changes and improvement changes. The training is helpful in give strengthen to make
improvement in skills of employees. On the other hand, development brings all staff members to
high level so that all have the same knowledge and skills. It is helpful in minimize weak links
within firm that rely on the others to finish the basic work tasks. The training and development
makes staff members more effective and productive. This is concerned with all managerial or
personnel activities.
Significance of training and development in retention of employees in ASDA
According to viewpoint of Jessy David (2020) Training presents main opportunities to
expand knowledge of all staff members but several staff members find development
opportunities expensive. Training and development is main factor in sustaining the staff
members at workplace. In this minimum turnover assure that company is sustaining competent
staff members through giving them better environment that enhance performance of staff
members. Training is one of the effective way to motivate staff members for purpose of
improving employees performance to sustain at workplace for long period of time. In context to
this, workplace training can enhance employees retention because this aids the staff members to
develop more self- worth sense as become valuable to staff of company. On the other hand,
employee retention is related to different practices and policies which let staff members stick to
company for long time period. ASDA company give training to its staff members so that they
skills and core competencies can be improved and they are able to perform in a better manner.
Goal of ASDA manager is to reduce employee turnover, loss of the talent, reducing training

costs. In ASDA organisation, training provides to employee feel them better and they are loyal
and also willing to be contribute for long period of time to business that gives potential for

educational process that consists sharpening of concepts and skills for gaining more knowledge
to increase employees performance level. In ASDA company, employee retention is more
important. Firm is mainly judged according to its turnover rate. It mainly impacts on
performance level of company. The minimum turnover rate assures that company is sustaining
competent staff members through giving them positive environment that enhance employees
performance. ASDA is looking at providing the specialised training and development that is
relevant to particular tasks and make the staff members unfit for the use of rivals (Kossivi, Xu

gained by the observation by consisting measurement. This philosophy is mainly used to explain
approach related to society study that relies on the scientific evidence in order to reveal true

questionnaire will be developed in by including the different questions regarding the training and
development and also its importance in retention of employees. For present research, this is
necessary to collect the data and information related to importance of training and development.
To choose the sample size from whole population, random sampling will be used because this is
helpful in give the equal chance to chosen respondents so that researcher can able to collect
relevant information regarding the specific subject area and getting the positive outcomes.
Ethical considerations
Following the ethical consideration while conducting an investigation is necessary. It is
necessary for a researcher to follow all the ethical principles in doing the research such as
confidentiality, consent, authenticity and others. It is essential that researcher should collect the
data using using authentic and reliable sources (,Fletcher, Alfes and Robinson, 2018). Other than
this, participants in research should not harm in any way. There is a need to investigator to
respect for dignity of the research participants. There is a need to researcher to obtain full
consent from participants prior to study.
Data analysis
It is process of applying the logical techniques to explain and analysis of data. A
necessary component of assuring the integrity of data is accurate of research findings. For
analysis of collected data, thematic analysis approach will be used. Through this, it is easy to
