1TRAINING PLAN DESIGN
The respective paper is a training plan built for training of the security personnel for the
United States Marine Corps. with the help of ADDIE Model. ADDIE Model can be defined as a
generic process that are traditionally used as a set of instructions by instructional designers and
training developers. ADDIE Model has been divided into five stages or phases, namely,
Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation which has been utilized
throughout the world and across the globe for framing all sorts of training lessons and exercises
(Jones, 2014). A company is suggested to keep its employees updated about the different global
skills that have been circulating throughout the corporate and business environment. Therefore,
providing training and skill enhancement programs have become an integral part of a company.
Thus, training is taken solemnly in an organization and the training lessons and materials are
arranged and optimized with the help of ADDIE model in certain commendable companies. A
detailed description and interpretation of the ADDIE model with an example is illustrated
hereafter. (The respective organization taken in the respective case is the United States Marines).
The first part of ADDIE model is Analysis. The analysis phase can be defined as a phase or a
condition where the instructional problem of a particular training plan is clarified, the
instructional objectives or goals are established and the learning environment and the existing
knowledge and skills of learners are identified and realized. The analysis portion of ADDIE
model is a deep introspection and scrutiny about the roots and the main statics and dynamics of
the training programs that are being framed and about to be formulated (Aldoobie, 2015).
The company United States Marine Corps has been facing several challenges and
organizational problems. The United States Marine Corps is a defense organization that works
for the safety and security of the United States. Recently, there have been many instances that
give them a hint of a supposedly terrorist attack in the nation. Terrorist attacks can be defined as

the utilization of force or violence against persons or properties and violation of criminal laws of
the United States for the purpose of intimidation, coercion or ransom. Terrorists are often known
to be creating a sense of threat, fear and intimidation among the public before and after their
attacks. In the respective employee training program given, the organization is concerned about
the impending danger of the speculated terrorist attacks, which is assumed to be coming as a
retaliation of the welfare of the United States of America. Research declares that America might
be in threat from political separatist groups, religious groups and other representative groups of
the African Americans, immigrants and other marginalized societies (Hausken, 2018). Some of
the most deadly terror attacks in the United States had been carried out in a neat and organized
way, such as the attack on the World Trade Center in 11/9/2002 by the religious groups that had
conflict with the Americans and the nation (Lankford, 2015). Such incidents have been a blot to
the humankind and needs to be avoided and curbed, therefore, the Marine Corps organization has
taken the pledge to save the country from any kind of obnoxious affairs.
Throughout the training period, there would be a constant surveillance and measurement
about the skills, strength and stamina of the personnel of the organization who would be
responsible for tackling the terrorist attacks. The training sessions would be able to provide the
personnel with more power of retention and collaboration in order to carry out counter terrorism.
The training sessions would be an amalgamation of physical, mental and intellectual endurance
training lessons at every periodic intervals that would help the officers not only in getting
themselves physically fit but also mentally sound and intellectually strong. The most important
part of the training would be providing the officers with premium physical training, both for the
male as well as the female officers. The male and the female officers would be assessed of their
physical strength and stamina according to their physical and health parameters. Men and women

officers will have different sets of physical training and endurance programs. According to the
physical capacities of both the sexes, a nutrition consultant is suggested to be appointed who
would provide the officers with proper diet that would help them build strength and stamina in
them.
Apart from that, the ethics of the organization should also not to be forgotten. The ethics in the
organization should be strengthened by providing them with proper training and educational
classes on the expectations of the organization from the personnel.
Technologies have always played a superior role in the national and international security
concerns. The personnel and officers who would be given training to combat the international
terrorist forces cannot complete their training without a proper training in digitalization. America
has been renowned for exploiting the technologies at its best in order to combat the external
dangers and threats. In this case, too, the personnel would be given proper training to use
different kinds of complex digital platforms in order to invigilate, inspect and keep surveillance
over all kinds of activities happening in the country. For instance, they can utilize social media
platforms to keep an eye on the digital terrorist activities the speculated terrorist groups might
perform or carry out. The armies around the world have to develop the skill to exploit digital
space to obtain data pertaining to national security.
The most important strategy of counter terrorism would be the act of preparedness for the worst
form of attacks and the swifter and quicker solutions for prevention of possible attacks. The
personnel would be given special learning and instructions to keep themselves physically and
mentally alert so that they can swiftly detect the mishaps and suspicious activities that might be
happening throughout the country, in every cities, towns and villages of the states. The personnel

and officers would be kept in the most hostile situations so that they build themselves strongly
and learn how to cooperate and adjust in every extreme kind of situations.
The KSA model that can be utilized in the respective case is enumerated hereafter. KSA stands
for Knowledge, Strengths and Abilities model.
Knowledge, in the first place of the model, is a method that focuses deep into the origin and
implications of the concepts, including facts and figures. However, the knowledge is more based
on theories and less pragmatic aspects. In the special training to combat terrorism and provide
premium security to the state, the organization might provide the officers and personnel with a
sound knowledge regarding what sorts of or kinds of danger can they meet in their operational
hours, including the life risks they might be facing throughout their journey as security
personnel, the disadvantages they might face in the society during their career and the complex
situations they might face in order to carry out operations, invigilation and surveys (Kaslow,
2014).
Skills, in the second place of the model, can be defined as caliber, capabilities and abilities that
are developed through on-the- job trainings and on- hand experiences in the job environment.
Skills can be enumerated as practical knowledge based on the theoretical knowledge. In the
respective case, apart from providing the security personnel and officers with a plethora of
knowledge, facts and information theoretically, the trainers are responsible to provide them
pragmatic exercises where they have to physically carry out the tasks and measure their
capabilities, dexterities and skills. The usage of latest technologies in their operational trainings
might make them physically, mentally and intellectually alert with a sharp and clear presence of
mind and sixth sense (Kaslow, 2014).
Document Page
5TRAINING PLAN DESIGN
Abilities, in the third and final place of the model, can be roughly defined as the inherent talent
or dexterities that every individual possess which is exhibited when he or she is provided a
situational task to carry out. Identification and enhancement of abilities is an integral part of
training via KSA model. In the respective case, physical, mental and intellectual abilities of the
men, women and transgender officers might be assessed. Different parameters might be set to
assess officers from different genders and physical status. As it is known that every human being
is a resource, having certain talent and capabilities that can be utilized, the trainers in this case
are responsible to squeeze out the talents from the personnel (Reigeluth, Beatty & Myers, 2016).

Part C: Development
In the comprehensive program materials and activities that have been built in order to provide
premium training to the security officials and personnel, the communication tools that might be
utilized are cryptography tools. Cryptography or cryptology is defined as the study of the
methods of converting messages to a form unreadable except to one who knows how to decrypt

them (Elçi, 2013). Such cryptographic communication tools, such as “Bitlocker” and “Our
Secret” can be installed into the mobile communication tools, such as i-pads and data processor
chips in order to carry out secret tasks within the territory of the training programs. The
importance of cryptography in military services has numerous significances that are enumerated
in the paragraph hereafter.
In the contemporary world, radio communication often takes place in a wide range across the
globe. In many civilian and military organizations, these options are used in parallel. It is
therefore vital that the military grade encryption is standardized and can guarantee compatibility
between the different applications. The peculiar characteristics of encryption of messages in
command and reporting level is absolutely a necessity in today’s world of high degree
technology and surveillance. Suitable means ensure that the recipient can be sought (and found)
via different routes, or that delegates are informed and activated via automatic forwarding can be
carried out by efficient means of encrypted messages. It has to be remembered that messages in
military organizations must be kept into secrecy. Messaging can be and is used at all levels and
in different corps, both in non-combat areas (planning, support, logistics) and also in fighting
troop sections, therefore, messaging is an integral part of a military event or an operation and
caution should be taken to handle them. The evaluation tools would be strictly based on the
capability parameters of the officers (both male and female).
Part D: Implementation
The training that has to be given to the security officers and personnel would be based on
scientific training procedures and methods (Kaslow, 2014). Throughout the training period, there
would be a constant surveillance and measurement about the skills, strength and stamina of the

personnel of the organization who would be responsible for tackling the terrorist attacks. The
training sessions would be able to provide the personnel with more power of retention and
collaboration in order to carry out counter terrorism. The training sessions would be an
amalgamation of physical, mental and intellectual endurance training lessons at every periodic
intervals that would help the officers not only in getting themselves physically fit but also
mentally sound and intellectually strong. The most important part of the training would be
providing the officers with premium physical training, both for the male as well as the female
officers. The male and the female officers would be assessed of their physical strength and
stamina according to their physical and health parameters. Men and women officers will have
different sets of physical training and endurance programs.
According to train the trainer process, at the end of the training, the trainer must look into
the fact that weather he or she had given training of exactly whatever is required or not. First of
all, the trainer should see whether they have learnt what he has taught by using questionnaires,
secondly, whether they implemented what they have learnt by assessing their pragmatic
performance, and thirdly, whether they need to improve their job performance by questioning
them regarding their performance, grievances, doubts and issues they might be facing while they
are on their job or duty.

Part E: Evaluation
Evaluation of a training performance is indeed important because it helps the trainers to gain
knowledge whether he or she was able to achieve the desired goals or not (Newcomer, Hatry &
Wholey, 2015).
Evaluation tools to be utilized
In the respective training plan, the evaluation tool that has been decided to be utilized is
questionnaires. A questionnaire is an effective evaluation tool used to gather information on a
program or a session and obtain useful statistical information on a particular topic. It is a reactive
level assessment.

Topic 1
Kirkpatrick’s four stages of evaluation includes reaction, learning, behavior and results. All the
three stages of Kirkpatrick’s evaluation are important and significant because it has the most
favorable and efficient sequence or algorithm to the training program (AlYahya & Norsiah,
2013). Even though results are important, yet the trainer should concentrate more on how
qualitative training is he or she able to give. If the Kirkpatrick model is followed diligently
according to the strategies, the result of the training would be premium with less exploitation of
time and resource (AlYahya & Norsiah, 2013).
Topic 2
Other than the evaluation technique of survey, the other evaluation tool or technique that can be
utilized in the process is the method of interviews. Interviews are a data collection method or
technique whose aim is to gather facts and opinions regarding a particular matter or event or a
product. Interviews typically involve asking different open- end multifaceted and multilateral
questions, generally made to cater to the multidimensional needs and preferences of the
interviewee, often to find out the results of an event or a matter (Doody & Noonan, 2013).
Interviews can often provide a near to accurate results of the valuable insights of behavior,
attitude, opinion and mindsets of the interviewee. Thus, with the help of such data, an inference
can be drawn about the positive and the negative points of the event. For my own training plan,
the interviews, apart from the questionnaires, would be important as it would help me to have a
direct interpersonal communication with the interviewees, providing me with greater accuracy of
the evaluation results than the questionnaires (Doody & Noonan, 2013).
