When might the concepts of transformational leadership be beneficial to an organisation, and
when might they be counterproductive? How can managers apply transformational leadership

Transformational leadership within the workplaces are important in securing the best interests if
the concern as it enables individual development and growth, enhances the performance of the
workforce and contributes immensely towards the organizational change and development.
When within the workplace, the workforce notices transformational leadership style which is
passive in nature or absent, it can potentially have a negative impact in the productivity of the
organization.
To become an effective leader in the workplace, the leaders must understand that they
should have an overall understanding of managing the workforce, project management,
organizational skills and the ability to monitor the performance of the employees. The leaders
should facilitate a range of conversations among the key stakeholders of the company and be
driven by a set of values and sense of mission. It can be said that by having a generalized vision
can best implement this type of leadership within the organization. It can be said that the leader
needs to be strategic from a objective setting and planning perspective. He or she should have
good communication skills and should be able to emphasize on driving changes from the
inception of the operations to a successful ending of the operations.
