Research Methodology
In order to execute the research in an effective manner, the data collection method will be
carried out with the help of qualitative analysis of the secondary sources. Qualitative analysis can
help in the process of the subjective consideration of the data that will be collected (Cohen,
Manion and Morrison 2011). This ensures an approach that is more humane and it helps in deep
rooted analysis of the data. Secondary sources refer to those sources which have already been
written and produced by other people such as academic journals and articles, books and websites
among others (Bell 1993). The qualitative analysis of such secondary sources will not only
provide a subjective outlook of these sources but will also be able to show to the readers the
importance of translation in teaching English as a second language to the people. It will also
reveal to the people the various advantages and disadvantages of translation that can be used as a
medium of teaching (Dörnyei and Griffee 2010). The critical evaluation will also depend upon
such qualitative analysis.
Evaluation and Justification of Research Methodology
The analysis of the secondary sources will provide a comprehensive idea about the
existing situation of the issue (Nunan 1992). For facilitating this primary research needs to be
undertaken which is not possible with the limited budget and time provided. Due to shortage of
time, very constricted number of secondary resources shall be analyzed in a qualitative manner.
Ethical Consideration
In order to make an effective research, it is important that several ethical considerations
should be taken in to consideration. For instance, while analyzing the various data contained in
the secondary resources, it is essential that transparency and honesty should be maintained
during this time. The researcher should be vigilant in their data collection technique and should

be honest while analyzing it and avoid any manipulation of the collected data. Moreover, while
analyzing the data, confidentiality of the individuals from whom the data is collected should be
maintained. In other words, the identity of the people from whom the data is collected should be
kept confidential if it is mentioned in the secondary resources. All these ethical consideration
will aid in the transparency of the research and maintain the efficiency of the research (Nunan
and Bailey 2009).
Research Plan
The research on translation as an effective medium to teach English as a second language
shall be done with the help of secondary resources. They will be analyzed in a qualitative
manner. While analyzing the data, the ethical consideration of transparency and confidentiality
shall be maintained.
