According to APRN Consensus Model (2018), Advanced Practice Psychiatric
Registered Nurses will undergo one entry educational focus for their future prospect in the
career and this will be done with the help of didactic curriculum as per the age-specific and
mental health specific interventions.
According to the APRN Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Practice (2018), proper
scope must be given to evidence-based practice for the treatment of the psychological
complications. These evidence-based interventions must be guided by the scope of practice of
the registered nurse. Moreover, proper risk management strategies must be undertaken while
implementing the behavioral interventions and in order to ensure patient’s safety. The
guideline also provide a detailed over-view of the proper medication management with the
use of the proper clinical tools while prescribing opoids for the management of chronic pain.
