mechanics and structural analysis for calculations to obtain important and required data (Munro,
2017).
Computer science skills
engineers should be well versant with the computer technologies foe the application in making
reports, thesis, of software designs. Various software are required in today’s automated
industries (Tomás, et al., 2013).
Ability to design: Engineers should have basic attribute of design in any field of specialization. I
am able to design many machines that can be used in the transportation industries and calculate
the important parameters by the use of design software. I can do MATLAB, autoCAD and solid
works (Deflorio, 2011).
Administration: I did some trainings in various department and I met other engineers, human
resource managers and accountants. I gained knowledge on how to become a good project
manager and how make a project successful through planning, installation, controlling,
monitoring and closing (Hur, et al., 2017).
Production: Production knowledge is need for engineers about the machines that can be designed
to be used in transportation industries every day.
Literacy skills: this is required for USQ graduated so that they can master their duties. Technical
knowledge helped me to understand problems and looked for proper solutions. Information skills
are important for evaluation and analysis of technical data for problem solving (Abu-Lebdeh,
2017).
empower members. This is done successfully by using the companies’ resources in effective
manner and spend the budget wisely.
Being responsible: when I was working as a transportation engineer, I managed to make some
decisions to solve critical problems by smoothening the functioning of different machines used
for constructing modes of transportation (Hurrell, 2013).

Transportation 12
Research into Transportation and global change into
transportation
Economy of many countries worldwide depends on personal and freight mobility provided by
the country’s system of transportation. Important services and products such as food, energy,
trade, manufacturing depends on the interrelated ways and functioning of these components of
transportation. Disruption of systems of transportation may cause large personal and economic
loss. National system of transportation is composed of 4 components such as fixed infrastructural
mode i.e. airports, ports, and rail terminals; fixed route infrastructure such as roads, pedestrians,
canals, bridges, rails and freights. Many researches have been done on transportation and it was
found that climate change and transportation affects each other. Climate change affect operation
of transport system for example floods, hails and precipitation damages roads, systems of
railways and vehicles that use them. Climate also affect design of modes of transportation which
is costly and can be subjected to stress to reduce reliability and capacity for transportation.
Transportation also affect climate change through greenhouse gas emissions from trucks and cars
(JEON & Kim, 2017).
Overview of transportation system in Australia
The fact that Australia has many top world universities is the main reasons why most of the
students around the world chose to further their education in Australia. To become advantageous,
it good to get familiarized with regional, local and cross country options for transportation in
Australia (Gharehbaghi, 2018).
Arriving in Australia: before taking any type of travel in Australia, arrival is usually plane or
even boats. Major airports are located in Melbourne. Adelaide, Sydney and Perth with every
destination serviced by the main airlines connecting Europe, US and Asia. If the destination of
the passenger is located in the city of arrival then taxi or a bus can be taken as a means of
transport between home and airport (Wessel, 2019).
