INTRODUCTION
Knowledge, skills and experience is an essential element for a graduate as it not only aids
them to make improvement in employability skills but also encourage them to confidently to
enter in a selected area of graduate employment. In this report formative discussion has been
conducted on the future career planning (Aaltolehto, 2021). In this the role for which I am
looking forward after my graduation is to be a marketing manager in travel and tourism sector.
The main reason behind selecting this industry is that respective industry is a leading industrial
sector and future oriented which engages in offering direct satisfaction to consumers around the
globe. Report discusses global trend which is impacting travel and tourism industry. In addition,
with certain knowledge and skills which is essential to perform the selected job role to have a
clear path I engaged in discussion with my friends and families as to enhance my understanding
on selected industry as well as the job role.

Travel and tourism is one of the fastest in leading industrial sector around the world as this
industry of an numerous opportunities for organisation in this industry those who does not only
satisfy emerging demands of consumer but also aid in the growth of economy with in a country.
There are numerous factors of business performing in this industry for example conferences and
events, food and beverage, tourism, transportation, adventure tourism and recreation service,
accommodation etc. Travel and tourism industry defined as the act of travelling to different
forms of location which can be for pleasure or business purpose. There are number of factors in
business environment which keeps on changing in this industry that can impact upon the job role
in this industry for example the role of marketing manager. It has been evaluated that factor like
technology and globalisation have major impact on this industry.

Globalisation is a process by which world significantly interconnected with increase in cultural
and trade exchange. This also termed as a process due in which interaction and integration with
them government individual and companies around the world. It has been identified that
globalisation created easier way and affordable manner for individual to travel which is also
increasing their expectation and demands. This makes organisation in this industrial sector to
face issues of the ever-changing needs of consumers from different countries as to fulfil their
requirements accordingly. Globalisation is acting as a major element which is making changes in
the requirement of tourist as they belong from different areas and destination and demands
different facilities and services in affordable and flexible price segment. However, with the help
of globalisation organisation in this industry have a possibility to attract large number of
consumers around the world which helps company to enhance overall profitability and
productivity.
Technological impact:
Due to the significant advancements in technology travel and tourism industry is
measuring high speed changes in the pattern of interaction of organisation with consumers. There
are different type of technologies and tools which not only assist organisation to improve the
services and consumer experience but also allow them to handle operations in effective manner
in reduced cost (Abahre, 2021). However, it this has been evaluated that technology have major
impact on travel and tourism industrial sector as it is excessively replacing human labour. There
are dynamic changes in technology which allow travel and tourism industry to stay 24/7
connected with consumers around the globe and provide them services effectively. These
changes in technology is affecting marketing manager job role as they are required to adopt all
the changes effectively and enhance knowledge and skills accordingly to perform business roles.
From the analysis has been evaluated that technology and globalisation is acting as a
general trend which is having impact upon travel and tourism sector in order to perform roles and
responsibility in this industry as per the changes in trends. There are certain technological and
critical thinking skills which is essential for marketing manager to have in order to effectively
perform roles and responsibilities.

individual required to have various knowledge, personal skill, expertise and competencies, as
marketing manager is having numerous sets of responsibility to conduct different roles and
responsibilities to fulfil consumers as well as business needs. It has been identified that
marketing manager is required to have exceptional communication skills in order to efficiently
deal with individuals from different ages, background, temperament, nationality etc.
Furthermore, marketing manager is also needed to process consumer service skills as to identify
the actual needs and demands of customers and provide them satisfactory services accordingly.
Furthermore, with proficient language skill marketing manager in travel and tourism in
industrial sector can effectively deal with consumers from different background. It is an
important skill which is essential for marketing manager to have in order to efficiently speak
with individuals belongs to different nations (George, 2021). It will significantly assist marketing
manager to develop intimate relationship with them which helps in promoting consumer
satisfaction and loyalty. In addition to this cultural awareness also perform an important
personal skill that will allow marketing manager to efficiently have cultural awareness through
which they can attract consumers from different cultural background. Marketing manager with
networking skill can build stable and loyal consumer base which significantly help them to
cultivate relationships with them for long term sustainability
In context with knowledge marketing manager is required to perform various roles and
responsibilities in respective industrial sector with the proper and efficient knowledge of relevant
legislation and laws associated to travel and tourism industry. This will help them to perform
business activities as per the legal guidelines (Ndou and Mele, 2021). In addition to this general
knowledge that a marketing manager require is administration and management. This will
significantly assist marketing manager to efficiently manage employees those who belongs from
different background. As per the analysis this has been evaluated that it is important for an
applicant to have these essential skills and knowledge at this stage in the career of marketing
manager in travel and tourism industry sector.

Evaluation
The appropriate vacancy towards which I am looking forward after completing my
graduation is the job role of marketing manager in travel and tourism sector. This job role
attracts my interest, as marketing manager have capability to satisfy consumers from various
locations around the globe along with management of positioning and promotion of services and
brands. There are some organisations who need master degree in addition with certain experience
for the role of marketing manager. However, candidates from business management, marketing,
and communication will be preferred by some certain organisation. With my confidence and high
learning experience I have knowledge and skills to effectively perform the job role of marketing
manager. Along with this I also have competencies and capability to conduct the role, as during
the time of application for this role I will engage in developing my skills in more efficient
manner with the assistance of taking advantages from marketing programs, diploma degrees and
other courses (Joshi and Gupta, 2021). I will also apply for marketing internship for one month
in organisation. It will aid me to grab the opportunity to perform the role of marketing manager
in travel and tourism industry. I have significant interest to conduct this professional role and if
given the opportunity I will significantly utilise my talent skills and capabilities to serve
consumers internationally. It has been identified by me that travel and tourism industry have
various other job roles such as HR, travel agent etc, however, marketing manager job role
attracts me more as with the help of this role I can utilise my skills and talent efficiently. It is an
emerging job role in this industry as marketing manager have opportunities to utilise digital
technologies at greater extent which makes this job role to be future proof.
CONCLUSION
As per the above-mentioned discussion it has been concluded that a graduate student is
required to have number of skills, knowledge, competencies and expertise as to successfully
enter in selected or interested job field. With the help of knowledge, skills and expertise one can
grab the opportunity and can effectively ensure future growth and development in professional
context.
